Great location, huge room with garden right next to the reception. Large bathroom with separate WC. Very comfy large double bed. Our boys were in a double room upstairs in the larger building. Great staff at check-in, only there from 4-8pm Large secure parking.

Our room had a very noisy family in the room above us, which put a dampener on our stay. Trampling about over our heads until well past midnight. Had I known, I would have selected an upstairs room for ourselves. Our boys room had wall to wall carpeting, and the one with dust allergy had a hard time there as there was a LOT of dust.

We stayed here for two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. We had a lovely welcome from the young lady on the reception (? Camille?). She was very friendly and helpful and her English was superb. We stayed in a ground floor 'lodge-style' room which was spacious and had a sofa and coffee table. The bed was enormous and the bedding and towels were good quality. The shower room was also faultless. There was an added bonus of a fridge and tea/coffee facilities. Our ground floor room had a terrace leading on to the hotel grounds and lawns. The terrace was furnished with table, chairs and sun loungers and had a degree of privacy from the adjoining rooms. I think that the upper floor rooms have a balcony with table and chairs. The grounds are nicely kept and lead down onto the Charente river. Quite idyllic. Ample secure parking is available for hotel guests. Cognac town centre is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.

Everything was perfect.

We found the hotel by chance and made a late booking. The hotel feels as if it is the middle of the countryside and yet it is very close to the centre of Cognac. Surrounded by gardens there are gypsy type caravans, cabins on stilts and little studio type appartments to stay in as well as normal hotel rooms. There is a swimming pool and the whole complex is on the banks of the river. The breakfast in a conservatory attached to the main building was excellent. There are conference type facilities and space for weddings or similar. We wish we could have stayed longer. It is an enchanting place in a beautiful area well worth the overnight stop we were making. There is secure parking. Finally there is an Italian restaurant (La Scala) within walking disance across the river with a decor worthy of a film set! Food was good too!

The rooms were fine, and very clean but just like any other hotel room. What we loved was the surroundings - the beautifully tended garden and the different types of accommodation to suit every taste. Not suitable for people with young children who would need close supervision due to the river.

Fantastic location, right by the bridge into town. Bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. Hotel well laid out, spacious rooms and beautiful bathrooms. Really nice pool and grounds. Only stayed one night but would happily stay longer.

Only thing was there was nowhere to put anything in the bathroom, small amount of room around basin. A shelf or two would be really helpful.

Wonderful grounds and tranquil location just over the bridge from the pretty town of Cognac on the Charente river. A very novel place to stay and well run by the family who have created it on the site of a factory where we were told boxes were once produced for bottles of Cognac. Excellent value for money and would definitely stay there again.

The cabin we stayed in was cosy and unusual. It was situated in the grounds of a larger facility but away from the main buildings in pleasant surroundings. The staff were very helpful in selecting restaurants in the town.

it was a nice experience. Somewhat surprisingly given its location there were no wine glasses in the kitchenette but a minor point

We are regular visitors to this hotel as it’s a great mid way stop for us when travelling through France. Lovely situation alongside the Charente. Quirky rooms and great stay if you have dogs as the gardens are perfect. It’s a short work across the old bridge into Cognac where there are a plethora of good restaurants to try.

Fantastic eco-style retreat. It's much better than on the photos. I could not fault anything, I'd definitely return for a longer holiday and stay there. Whoever is the owner has really thought out all the details to make this a beautiful and comfortable resort. There are also great restaurants just next door and a short walk over the bridge to the city.

I think they could make it more easy and clear which room types you can book when travelling with dog. Ended up paying extra for a room type that takes dogs and then extra again for the dog.

A good location for a stopover for a night on the way south (or north!), but it would be a fine base for a holiday in the region . The gardens are lovely and there are some fun and quirky rooms. The room was well appointed and I enjoyed the terrace at the end of a long day

Nothing of any importance. But perhaps the name of the hotel could be better signposted from the street

The property was in an excellent location to explore Cognac on foot. It was great to have onsite parking and the staff were very helpful.

The bathroom of the room we stayed in had an unpleasant smell which we think was due to the fact there was no natural ventilation or extractor fan. I did feed this back on departure.
