5-Star Review for Mama Beach Residence I had an amazing stay at Mama Beach Residence and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The owner, manager, receptionist, and bar staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful—always welcoming with a smile and happy to assist with anything. The whole place was spotlessly clean, and my room was no exception. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept so well during my stay. The breakfast was a real highlight—plenty of tasty options and something for everyone. One thing that really stood out was their honesty and service at reception. They even exchanged currency at the exact bank rate with zero commission—such a rare and helpful service! Honestly, there’s nothing bad I could say. The service, cleanliness, comfort, and value are easily on par with a 4–5 star hotel, but with a more personal and humble touch. I will definitely be coming back and recommending Mama Beach Residence to friends and family. Thank you so much for everything guys

Honestly nothing to stay bad about it

This property is a little hidden gem. We loved every minute here, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We wanted to book a boat trip to maya bay but were worried about the weather so they let us wait until the very last minute then Siri on reception called a boat for us and it came within 10 minutes. We had a comfort sea view room which was really convenient being able to step out into the pool and onto the beach. I was worried about the outdoor bathroom but it was all fine, I did a YouTube video to show this too for others under you can find it under the handle savvy travel girl. The beach felt like a private beach, hardly any tourists there and it was so beautiful. We are now at the Saii hotel and honestly I prefer the exterior of mama beach.

My only wish is if the room decor was updated to include a wardrobe and air con in the bathroom too as we had air con on the main room but the bathroom could get a little warm.

This stay was perfect for us. The room was nice and clean with good air conditioning and a beautiful view. Mama Beach Residence took care of any and all needs that we communicated and then some. They have boat tours and kayak rentals available, snorkeling and whatever else you might be interested in. You could also get them from any of the vendors in town, but they have them here also for a competitive rate, and they don't push any of it. It's far enough away from the central pier to give you peace and quiet in the evenings, and close enough for anything you might want like access to all the restaurants or shops (about a 10 min stroll down the beach). Addy, at reception, was exceptionally helpful in making sure we were all set to go for any topics. Great English and even found and was vigilant about returning a lost item that we forgot in the room in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this location and would stay here again if returning to Phi Phi.

I didn’t use the spa pool as not sure if it was clean and no other swimming pool The garden sea view room had a lovely view however a damp smell was noticed possibly due to heavy rain. Shower pressure somewhat low and temperature not as hot as I prefer

The Hotel was ideally situated for us, just on the edge of all the business of Phi Phi. It was a quiet and peaceful resort. Nice balcony with very comfy chairs to look out over the gardens and sea. Staff greeted us at the ferry and took our baggage on the short (15 minute) walk to the hotel. Staff were very helpful throughout. We really enjoyed our stay.

Not really a negative but...the bathroom arrangement was strange, being semi-outdoor on a balcony with curtains. Lovely for fresh air, but the louvre bathroom door potentially allowed bugs into the bedroom. Not an issue that we suffered from, but something to consider.

Second time staying at Mama Beach Residence. The staff are truly welcoming, warm, and go out of their way to help you enjoy your holiday. Loved the location - a ten minute walk to the shops and restaurants and on the quiet side of the island. Beautiful views, a private beach and clean and comfortable room. Would highly recommend for those travellers wanting a peaceful and comfortable stay on Phi Phi

Could not recommended this property enough to someone, it is enough away from the noisy part of Phi Phi but walking distance to ever place in a few minutes, the rooms are big and spacious, fresh towels everyday, lovely breakfast, the staff are probably the nicest people you will ever meet in your life an absolutely credit to the owner to have such nice professional people . They collect and drop your luggage from the pier as there is no transportation on the island. The night Porter walks you to your room to ensure you get in safe. 5 star would definitely recommend. Super location short walk along the beach away from the pier and busy town area. Staff were great from the moment we arrived could not have done more for us. Porter met us at the pier and carried our cases to the hotel. We had amazing views from the front top room. The room was big and had everything we needed, comfy beds and ample storage. Breakfast was fabulous, so many options and ordered hot food from a menu. Loved the breakfast room by the beach and the bar area on the sand. Sunloungers just for hotel guests on the beach and the jacuzzi pool was a nice treat and warm, which was not expecting. Very nice place to stay.

Bathroom was small and like a little cave, open air/window meant mozzies etc can come in (but spray is provided in the room) felt it let the room down but we were only staying one night so was not a problem.

The location is fantastic - away from the noise of tonsai pier while being right on the beach and close to tonsai. Very kind staff, delicious breakfasts, comfortable beds. Excellent stay

The power in the half the room (including the shower heater) turned off after showering a certain amount of time (after maybe 5-10 mins) 2x, security guard doesn’t know how to reset so have to finish with cold shower and go to bed without light/charging. It didn’t happen with my dad’s room so it must have been something wrong with the electric in ours only.

Ideal location, approx 10mins walk from Ton Sai Pier. Lovely beach front with private beach loungers. Room was very comfortable with excellent aircon! My partner and I ended up getting food poisoning during our stay and had to stay an extra night but the staff could not have been more helpful and caring. One lady at reception was extra kind and checked in on us, and brought us up toast and bananas. Highly recommend!
