The quality/price ratio is unbeatable for this hotel. Rooms are very nice, clean and tidy as well as affordable for large metropolis standards. The fact that the structure only hosts a few rooms make it a homey, familiar place with attention to details, clients and service.

Nothing. If one is on their first trip to Japan may prefer another area (such as Shibuja) but I honestly think that the hotel location is great. It’s quiet, well connected by public transport and in a seemingly local/authentic neighborhood that has all you need.

I like everything of this hotel. First of all, a very warming welcome with an apple juice and sake, they treat you like a member of their family not just like a guest, always ready for all your needs. Room was perfectly clean,, large and a so comfortable bed, I have a perferct sleep.. Location perfect just 1 min walk from JR station, 15 mins from Ueno and all amenities. They speak a very good English, so no problem if you can't speak Japanese.

Loved our stay here. The room was perfectly sized and situated for our needs. The staff were great, as were the facilities. The hotel is a short walk from Uguisudani station, which is well connected to the rest of Tokyo. It’s not a super touristy area, which might put off some people who want to stay in a hotel and area that is built around their needs, but we really liked the authenticity of the hotel and the surroundings. Supermarket and convenience stores also nearby, which was useful.

Located in a residential area, the property was very quiet, but only a couple minute walk to Uguisudani station. Directly across the train tracks is Ueno park with lots of museums, art galleries, etc. that make for great trips in the morning before exploring the greater Tokyo area. The property itself was modern, with enough space to sleep and a little table to pull out and eat at. It is the perfect setup for explorers who want a homemade to sleep at between trips around Tokyo. The breakfast is some packaged muffins, buns, and donuts with bananas available too. Nothing fancy, but it doesn’t claim to have a breakfast experience. A bakery down the road that opens at 7am is a good place to grab food that is really good. Perfect location.

Location, room and staff were all great. They spoke English and provided really great service, we could even leave our bags when we checked out. We will definitely stay here again when in Tokyo.

Ideal location on a quiet street but near the main train line (Yamanote), easily accessible to all the major neighborhoods. Room was of good size, can lay open our luggages or keep them under the bed. Staff was very approachable and helpful with any concerns. Appreciated the daily breakfast of bread, banana, and coffee!

Drinking water was available, but would have liked ice or cold water option (maybe a pitcher to place in the fridge?).

In a very convenient location with excellent train connections. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and spoke English fluently. Rooms are quiet, and though the layout is slightly odd (hand basin in the bedroom, with toilet in a separate room next to the bathroom), it's a functional space overall. They supply a free light breakfast: bananas, cellophane-wrapped breads and muffins or doughnuts. A bonus for us was the amazing vegan gyoza restaurant close by.

the staff Ef and Nick were outstanding. Helping with everything we needed, immediately and without prejudice. absolutely the best. also the location was great near the central and east side of tokyo

not so much better, but as in whole of tokyo the rooms are pretty small. not something The Barn specifically can do something about, but good to know for others. That said its bigger then what we are used to in Tokyo, since we traveled a bit around town.
