Very near Ueno museums. Seems mostly Japanese locals staying there, plus a few tourists. Large common room for eating/working. No kitchen; just microwave and water boiler. Large luggage lockers away from the beds helps limit noise at night.
The many unnecessary rules and strict, convoluted processes do give things a bit of a prison vibe. There's AC but it's still a little hot at night. Mattress is paper-thin; my back started hurting after the second night. Elevator system is very very very frustrating. Staircases cannot be used, so just one elevator - the only way to move throughout the building. So every time you want to move up/down just one floor, you often must wait several minutes.

Location: + 6 minute flat surface walk to Iriya Station Sleeping Arrangement: Bed: + pillow, mattress, duvet covering relatively clean + mattress: as someone who prefers more firm bedding, I found laying down quite comfortable + mini fan vent: really nice to have in a capsule like arrangement to control air quality Bathroom Related: Shower: + relatively clean + about 3 or more shower stalls + towel provided Toilet: + quite clean + seat bidet available + 2 stalls on my floor Sink: + clean + foaming soap provided Luggage Storage: + large, lock/key secure closet, so if you have a big roller bag, you are good to go
Sleeping Arrangement: - found a couple of pubic hair on the mattress topper where you rest your head, not great...Maybe vacuum that next time? At least you can use a mattress cover to conceal it... Bathroom Related: Shower: - a little cramp - don't expect a steady stream of warm/hot water (maybe after a couple minutes of warm water, cool down for a minute or so) Luggage Storage: - the carpeted floor area in my closet smelt bad

Excellent value for money for the price you paid if you just need somewhere to rest after a day exploring Tokyo. The staff are corteus and nice. One thing which I didn’t like is you have to pay for basic things like body soap, shampoo and conditioner which they supposed to provide but it’s okay, I guess it’s because of the cost of running a business and to make their prices competitive. Thanks for the experuence and will definitely stay again in the near future when I visit Tokyo again.
Pay for basic things. No refrigerator. The mattress is so thin which gave me lower back pain and pillows are low and provided only. Overall it’s okay and close to Tokyo Metro Subway(Iriya Station)

I am very grateful for being able to stay in this cheap and comfortable hostel in an expensive city like Tokyo. The hostel is very clean and smells nice. They also provide a big locker room for everyone. Located in the beautiful neighbourhood of Iriya which is close to all the major attractions in the city. All the staffs are really friendly and can speak good English. They even help you to keep the key so that you will not lose it when you go out. They have 24 hour reception which is uncommon in Tokyo and staffs always willing to help you. You can do laundry here too which is so convenient. I feel so sad to leave after staying for a week here. I always wish I could stay longer.
Some of the foreign guests here are inconsiderate talking loudly in the middle of the night and disturbing others but it's not the hostel fault. Some people are selfish and we can do nothing about it.

The value that you get from the price is pretty great. The beds are pretty clean and the opportunity to change sheets daily was nice. Lots of available showers that were fairly clean. You are provided your own locker which is very spacious.
You can get unlucky and get placed close to the ceiling ventilation fan which will be distracting and noisy at night. Earplugs will help with this to some extent. There's only 1 elevator and you can't use the stairs so it's just a minor inconvience to wait for the elevator. Many standard amenities such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash are not provided but they can be bought at the vendor machine for quite cheap prices on the first floor. It is quite the long walk to the nearest subway station.

It was a very affordable capsule stay in Asakusa. There are face towels and toothbrushes you can use for free. The design of the common area is unique in that it has the most "locker" space of any place i've stayed before - it's like a changing room-style where you have your usual area for luggage but also enough vertical space to hang your clothes/suits/jackets. There's also a laundry area in the first floor and a vending machine where you can buy some essentials like soap and detergent.
My only unexpected thing is that they did not have the usual bath soap/shampoo available in the showers, which I normally see in every capsule-type accommodation. Some of the areas like the fire exits feel like "under construction" with the way they're blocked off, but it's a minor concern. Not really a big deal.

the price was EXCELLENT. For what is included you get such great service, clean bedding, and secure storage. The "kitchen" was limited but most people are eating out or doing instant noodles so it was far from problematic! The capsule format has its differences to a regular hotel room but those adjustments are easily justifiable with the 1980 yen price tag!
The system is easy to understand, convenient, and encourages you to go out and explore! Not much to say outside of that ! Its a great system that works for you rather than you working for it !

It’s affordable and comfortable, and considerably near to a metro line though if it rains, there is no sheltered walkway. Place is clean and does not get too hot during summer as rooms are air conditioned. Place have a large locker and wardrobe away from the rooms. Hangers are provided. Face towel is good enough, no need for large towels which needs separate fee. Privacy is good with curtains. Book in advance as place gets snapped up daily!
Pillow is rather flat. I don’t smoke, but noted that smokers go to smoke in the staircase and the smoke gets blown into the lobby at level 8. Free baggage storage is only up to 6pm and an extra charge of 500yen per hour after. Got me thinking but moving out to use public lockers can be cheaper and save the time to detour back. Soap/shampoo/toothpaste not provided though one can buy them from the vending machine downstairs. Level 3 communal area for eating has no sink though there’s pretty of serviettes and wet wipes.

The bed was very comfy and the facilities were excellent! Everyone was super friendly and helpful and kind and it was a great location, only about a 5 minute walk from the subway station, and the bus to Nippori station was just around the corner, super accesible to the airport liner! It was a great time! The rooftop was quiet and had a beautiful view of Tokyo Skytree, a perfect place to chill out! I had a great time here and would totally stay here again!

Nice staff. I particularly like the slightly anonymous nature of this place, with none of the backpack foreigner style useless chatting or hanging out at other hostels. Good place, has everything I need (except soap/shampoo which you have to provide yourself but no problem) and will use again for sure. Thank you!
Nothing, although there were two Taiwanese guests speaking so loudly in the smoking area (close to the sleeping area) that I heard their whole boring half hour conversation. (As I understand mandarin, I knew that they were from Taiwan).
