Was a popular working pub with good food, a good atmosphere and great staff. The location was also excellent for lots of tourist activities. The shared bathroom took a little getting used to but was very clean and well maintained. It was never hurt. Car parking was also easy, secure and free. There was some noise at the weekend as was expected but it was not really intrusive and it went quiet at a really decent time. The room was huge, comfortable and the kettle and tea/coffee making facilities well stocked. We ran out part way through and mentioned it to staff who ensured we were kept well stocked. Great place to stay and we would stay again.

Nothing that spoilt our stay at all, or that came close.

Lovely room. The music is loud downstairs but upstairs you cant hear it at all! Very safe and comfortable. Good food onsite (we had pork tacos). Also nice food places nearby (Italian across the road, the warehouse 2 blocks away for breakfasts) . Period property and decor. Air con. Large showers (x3) and toilets (x2) in the ladies... we never had to wait or queue. Onsite parking. Reformer pilates also across the road. Thank you for a lovely stay.

South fremantle is slightly too far to walk (in the heat) to fremantle city centre. Breakfast starts at 9am. Due to jetlag we needed breakfast alot earlier 😅.

Staff are so friendly, very clean and large rooms! Love the Robes and Slippers and the fridge and kettle so handy. Would be lovely to have a place outside to sit and enjoy the surroundings when the weather is nice 🙂

Would be great to maybe have a discount for brekkie especially now it’s not a cheap to stay as it was. The noise at night from the bar ( which is absolutely understandable as it is a pub 😁) just maybe the door to the stairs could get closed earlier to block some noise. Have to say, the time the bar closes and the immediate quiet after that time, is commendable!

Staff was helpful and kind. The bar and restaurant downstairs is a great venue. Great selection of beers. Lively. On the weekend, excellent coffee and brunch options. Shower was very good. The bed was comfortable.

On the weekends, the restaurant and bar are popular and it can be a bit noisy. I had the room just above the staircase. Perhaps other rooms are better. After midnight, everything was quiet, which is fine for me, but I can imagine would not be ideal if you are a morning person.

Location was great as it was outside of the busy central area but a walkable distance (20 mins at easy pace). Very handy bus stop in front of the hotel connecting to downtown, markets, train station and harbour. My room was very spacious and very bright - corner room with three huge windows. The bed was comfy. Bathroom robes also nice. A couple of lovely cafes and restaurants nearby.

I happened to be at the venue on the occasion of a local party, which turned out to be the year's largest party there. The room being just above the party it felt as though I was sitting on top of the loudspeaker and it was not possible to do anything else (I had planned to read and work!). Thankfully it did stop around midnight, but an advance warning would have been appreciated. Two more such events took place in the week I was there and I got no warning. Staff were very nice when approached with specific requests but did not volunteer much information.

Staff were friendly and helpful. I had trouble logging on the different networks and a lovely gentleman fixed the issue on the spot. Another chap made sure that my accommodation was sorted as I had an extra day and admin staff followed up, which was all excellent communication.

Be prepared to use a common bathroom. It's somewhat like uni dorm, just more chill and chic with a fantastic bar and great food at the Local Cafe below.

We traveled to the hotel by taxi from the airport; I don’t recommend this, as I cost $110 cash. We should have taken a train for $6, but it was late and there is a walk from the train to the hotel. The neighborhood is funky and restaurants are close by. The only downside was that we arrived on Friday night and there was a rave going on in the bar downstairs and the music vibrated the walls until close to midnight.

Just the rave on Friday night, but this was a one-off and the next night was quiet. The bathroom is shared, down the hall, so if you are not in to that, this isn’t the place for you.

The funkiness of the place! The large, high-ceiillinged, spacious rooms, the silence. The one staff member with whom I had connected from the start and who was very helpful, was around when I checked out, so that felt friendly. Also, rhe location being in a very cool area, with coffee shops and health food outlet was a definite plus along with the ocean being within walking distance.

The Cockroach. The hott drink provisions were a little meager! They didn't include milk, and I couldn't figure out how to use rhe coffee machine. And a bottle of water would have been welcome after a long flight.

This hotel is packed with character and in a really lovely neighbourhood, as long as you are up for walking or bussing to town and to the beaches etc, which we were. Loved the outlook, down to the main street, the styling, the bed and the bars downstairs. The shared bathroom (and slippers/robe) were also great.

There was no interaction from the staff past check-in. We were three days so it would have been nice if they had checked in with us, freshened up the room, given us fresh towels, tea bags, coffee etc. Wifi also wasn't good. (They seemed so busy downstairs in the pub, we didn't feel like hassling them, so that's probably on us!) Beach towels would have been useful, as well as a way to keep the bedroom window open for fresh air. Otherwise we loved it.

Shared bathrooms were fine. Privacy in large shower stalls. Rooms were nice enough..

Window didn't open, 1st thing I went to do on entering room. I was looking forward to having the window open, perhaps it's a safety issue. Pillows were too soft. Some ice or ice bucket provided to ask bar staff to fill, would've been nice. I still feel the price is a little high for what you get/don't get. $130 seems more reasonable.
