Loved everything about this place! The location is perfect for exploring Tikal. Lots of animals around the lodge as well. We saw different monkeys, toucans, agoutis etc. Pool was nice for relaxing, and despite what others have written we really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. Yes, it gets really hot in the room because of no AC, but this is in the middle of the jungle after all.

One annoying thing was that when the electricity shuts down the fan kept trying to start, and it made a noise that woke us up during the night several times. We had to get up to shut off the fan, but then it doesn't automatically start when the electricity comes back so it gets sooo hot in the room.

Wow the property is gorgeous, and a 2 minute walk to the entrance to Tikal which makes it super convenient for popping into the park when you like and not having to wake up earlier than necessary to do the sunrise tour (highly recommend). You feel like you're in the jungle - we saw so many animals - yet no creepy crawlies in the rooms or common areas! Best of all worlds. We chose the share a bathroom option which I was nervous about but there are multiple individual stalls with toilets and showers so you're never really in a shared space or waiting or holding anyone up. Many food options and better than expected for a place with a basic monopoly on food options. Tasty breakfast and great lunch and dinner menu. Because of nationwide protests we worried about getting back to the airport and the hotel MADE IT HAPPEN. I mean, they got us around road blocks. It was amazing. Top tier support.

The location is absolutely fantastic! The lodge is in the middle of the jungle, right next to the Tikal Archaeological Site entrance. The restaurant in the hotel was wonderful: the food was delicious, the hours were very convenient, and the prices were quite reasonable to us. Something worth noting though: we didn't realize this when we booked, but the lodge has bungalows and a hostel. The bungalows are individual rooms with attached bathrooms, while the hostels share a common bathroom facility. The communal bathrooms were very well maintained, so we didn't mind, but we would have very much preferred the convenience of a private bathroom.

We stayed at the hostal with 2 single beds in our rooms (family of 4 with 2 teens). While basic (no AC and shared bathroom) it was a lovely stay. The rooms are just the right size. The shared bathroom and toilets are very clean and we never had to wait. Some people go hiking early in the morning in the park, some go later...so there were always showers available. The cleaning team was seen numerous times during our stay always cleaning so everything stayed neat and beautiful. The lodge (where you find the open restaurant, a bar and several sofa/armchairs where you can get wifi and work) is beautiful and is a few meters away from the rooms. The food was delicious and not overlypriced. Service was efficient and people very nice. The swimming pool has plenty of trees around and is a delight after a hot hiking morning. It is obviously not shaded around noon time but a quick deep can still refresh you a lot! We spent time reading in the shade of the trees. The whole place is very nice and it feels like you are in paradise.

Not much, maybe the fact that the hostal is so close to the main lodge and open restaurant that as soon as there is some activity you can be woken up. In the hostal there is only a mosquito net on the frame of the window but no glass window so you hear everything happening outside.

Absolutely gorgeous building surrounded by a jungle and SO close (a 5 minute walk) to the entrance of Tikal. Stunning dark wood decor, lovely common room (with a pool table and foosball), outdoor pool with deck chairs, comfy sitting area near the reception desk too. Oh! And above the "hostel" part was another common area with hammocks. The room was small but still the right size. Comfy beds with mosquito nets. Shared bathrooms that were clean and private. They screened a documentary about the Mayans for free the night that I stayed too. Really amazing experience here. The restaurant was wonderful too! Ate dinner and then breakfast there and enjoyed it both times (and wasn't overly expensive).

I guess the pool could've been warmer, and it would've been nice if the ho(s)tel gave (more) free drinking water. Also would've liked if the restaurant offered some food - like a coffee and croissant - before the Tikal national park opened, since nothing else is open around to get some sustenance before exploring.

Fabulous location right next to Tikal entrance.

The lodge charged us for the sunrise tour but we booked the tour and paid separately. Then they said we wouldn’t get a refund for 20 days. I settled it through my credit card because 20 days is unreasonable.

This was our third time staying at the Jungle Lodge Hotel and it continues to be as well run and beautiful as it was 20 years ago. We had our family of 5, with some of us staying at the hostal and two of us staying in the bungalows. It was a very hot time of the year but the rooms cooled down nicely with a breeze (no AC). its a real treat to be in the jungle with so much relative luxury. It was special to meet the two grandsons of the founder of the hotel and important local collaborator with archaeologists, José Antonio Ortiz Contreras.

Jungle lodge is located right in the middle of Tikal, on walking distance to the Maya ruins. The hotel was super nice and staff very friendly. The guides were also very good and spoke English well. The cleaning staff was working all the time to make sure that the areas were free of insects, as the hotel is located in the middle of the jungle. Food was very nice and we appreciated cinema evening.

Our room was not sound proof and for the sunrise walk they dont take into consideration people are still sleaping. It were mainly tourists that woke us up but the staff could inform them bit better. Food and drinks were quite expensive.

The hotel is extremely well located right in the tickle park. The staff is friendly.. We booked the host hotel by mistake, but they could accommodate us the next day to move to a private room although we decided not to since the shared facilities were cleaning off and good enough for one more night The restaurant offers a decent choice of dishes and they are overall pretty good. I recommend the María cheesecake and tequila pie. That is more a lemon pie.

On the downside, the pool is extremely out of shape and would require a complete a redo.

Beautiful, aesthetically furnished, excellent staff, extremely clean, excellent location that could not be better. Tours offered at great price. Pick up and drop to Flores at reasonable cost was helpful. I think this is the best way to see Tikal. Tikal is such a beautiful place that it would be a pity not to stay within the forest to experience it and Tikal lodge is one of two properties that is within the forest area

Very poor to practically no options for vegans in their kitchen. To say I was starving would be an understatement. I liked everything else so much that I would still go back to this lodge but will carry adequate food with me next time
