Excellent breakfast. Good choice of hot food items and cereals etc. Evening meals were great , nice choice of well cooked and presented dishes Comfortable large bed. Good shower with no issues with flow/temperature. Friendly and helpful staff. Great bar area with a good choice of draft and bottled drinks.
There was nothing we disliked. A couple of very minor points: The bath towels provided were a little on the small side. It would have been nice to have a option to have porridge oats for breakfast

In Scotland, everything is authentic and incredible. We spent 10 days exploring it as a family and were thrilled. But Black Bull Gartmore was undoubtedly one of the most special. We arrived late due to weather conditions, and they were kind enough to serve us dinner in their pleasant restaurant despite being overdue. We were very grateful. The place has all the flavors of the world, with photos that tell the story of this beautiful town and the family. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and the breakfast was phenomenal. Highly recommended, close to Stirling and surrounded by a wonderful agricultural environment.
Very quiet and nice place, it's recommended to make a reservation with them for dinner.

Stayed overnight at this lovely community run pub, in a quaint village, and on return from holiday. Nothing to fault .... all staff we met were exceptional, friendly and helpful. Lovely good sized clean room and en-suite bathroom. Secure entry system for guests to upstairs bedroom area. Bed very comfortable and a decent nights sleep with no disturbances. Lovely restaurant area and delighted that they maintain a "no dogs allowed" within this area. We had evening meals on both occasions which were excellent .... recommend the Chef's Chicken. The breakfast, included in price, was also excellent.... cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast and hot, beautifully cooked breakfast. The walls of the room, where breakfast is served, provides a fascinating history of the pub and village. We will definitely be booking to stay here again! Many thanks to all staff for making our stays so enjoyable.
Bath towels could be larger.

We were visiting again the Black Bull, we liked the location, room was very nice and spacious , staff professional and dedicated to work.
Price is much too high to the conditions offered by the place. Furniture in the room are used and needs to be replaced. Breakfast was really poor comparing to this one we have 2 years ago. Maybe the chef is different but the food was not comparable to this what we ate in the past - burnt black pudding , half tomato and 3 slices of mushrooms…We went to a dinner and were very surprised as starter was so salty as it was really hard to eat plus fish and chips were rather boiled that fried..

We used this hotel as a base between Stirling Castle and Glengoyne Distillery and had a rental car. This worked fine for us, but to stay here, a car is necessary. Gartmore is a charming village in the middle of countryside. The room and ensuite bathroom were excellent, spacious and quiet. Dinner was delicious, breakfast choices were many and also delicious. The hotel is charming and the staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. We would stay here again and recommend it to those with cars.

From being met by Billie right through our stay and our farewell we enjoyed the most exceptional experience. This is a "community" run pub/restaurant/accommodation and is a very special place because of it. The people we met who were both sides of the bar were welcoming, cheerful and ready to help or share information. The food in the restaurant was also extremely delicious all prepared by a local chef.
I cannot write anything in this box.

We had a very enjoyable stay The room was comfortable and clean with toiletries and tea and coffee facilities . The breakfast was cooked to order. Served with tea, coffee ,fruit juice and cereal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu in the evening had plenty to choose from, it was well presented and very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend a stay and we certainly would return if up that way again

Very nice, super clean, big and quiet room.. We have an option to chose what we would like to have for a breakfast. We were cruzing around Scotland and stayed here only one night which was a valuable stay. I would return if it happens again that I will be around the place. Ah, I should not forget that the lady host was extremly firendly. Go for it.
maybe the only drawback is that the room was without air conditioning

Everything! What a fantastic local hamlet experience with a staff dedicated to making every part of our stay a quality one. Honestly, one of the most unique properties we have ever stayed at. From the local pub experience to walking after sunset to see sleeping sheep at the end of the quiet lane, we could not have asked for a better place to stay.
No complaints!

Loved that it was community owned & managed. Our room was huge, beautifully decorated with a stunning view out the window. Huge bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely little dining room with walls covered in local memorabilia. Quick drive to Queen Victoria Nature Park which we loved walking in & spotting the red squirrels.
Nothing. Disappointed that we were there on a Monday night when they don’t serve meals as their reputation is very good.
