I loved everything in this hotel. However visitors to shanghai must know that hotel room temperature is set to 19.5* to 22* degree Celsius in almost all hotels in shanghai, which could be not cold enough if your used to sleeping in a very cold room

During my recent stay at The Langham, I fell severely ill and urgently needed medical attention. My husband approached the front desk for help, and that’s when we met Chuck. From the moment he heard about my condition, Chuck went above and beyond to assist us. Despite it being evening—when many clinics and hospitals were already closed—he patiently made multiple calls to find a medical facility that could attend to me. Thanks to his persistence and care, we were able to locate a hospital where I received the treatment I needed. Unfortunately, due to my illness, we had to change our travel plans and return to Singapore earlier than expected. When we checked out, Chuck thoughtfully sought approval to waive the charges for the night we could no longer stay. His understanding and kindness truly stood out and made a difficult situation much more bearable. I’m so thankful that The Langham was our chosen hotel for our first visit to Shanghai. Chuck’s professionalism, empathy, and genuine care left a lasting impression on us. He is a credit to the Langham brand, and we are deeply grateful for his support.

While the overall stay was pleasant, the bathrooms could benefit from some maintenance, as certain fittings were showing signs of wear and the tiling had visible imperfections. Additionally, there were occasional whiffs of cigarette smoke in the room, which was unexpected considering the hotel’s non-smoking policy. That said, the service was warm and attentive, and these minor issues didn’t take away from an otherwise enjoyable experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the Langham. This was our first trip to Shanghai and I am so glad we chose this hotel for our stay. It is perfectly located, but more than that, the hotel itself is stunning and we had a very comfortable room. Everything was spotless, and we had a wonderful surprise from hospitality staff. After a great night sleep, DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST!!!. it's fantastic with so many options. This hotel staff could not be better. A few people stood out. We wanted to say thank you to Mr Ivan and Mr Jeffery. They helped us all week, and it was a joy to speak with each morning. A very special thank you to Mr Andy! What a kind and knowledgeable gentleman. Ask for him if you need anything, he treated us like family. We will be back

My recent stay at The Langham Shanghai Xintiandi was absolutely wonderful. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and professional – from helping with early arrangements for a special occasion for my parents to offering excellent dining recommendations, everything felt personalized and warm. The room my parents stayed in was beautiful and perfect for their celebration. While my own room had a slight odor initially, the team handled it promptly after I informed the front desk, which I truly appreciated. One moment that truly stood out was when I encountered a dishonest taxi driver attempting to overcharge me more than four times the normal fare. Several hotel staff members (three or four, in fact) came outside to support and assist me immediately. Thanks to their calm and assertive help, the situation was resolved, and I felt completely safe and looked after. I’m sincerely grateful to those staff members for going above and beyond – because of them, what could have been a distressing moment turned into a reminder that kindness and professionalism can shine through, even in the most unexpected situations. Overall, the experience was memorable, and I would happily recommend The Langham to friends and family. Thank you for making our stay so special – and for helping me end my Shanghai trip with a truly positive impression of the city.

The hotel is centrally located and easy to get to other parts of Shanghai on the subway or bike. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we were given a beautiful box of moon cakes as it was the Autumn Festival. Our room was a very good size, separate bath and shower plus coffee machine and complimentary water. We used the gym a few times and the equipment was excellent. Easy walking distance to eateries and shopping.

When I booked the room it stated in the room facilities there was a washing machine however there was not one in our room. As we only stayed 2 nights it was not a major issue.

The stay was exceptional. It was my partner's birthday, and the staff thoughtfully prepared a special birthday cake, a sign, and a balloon. The room, overlooking Xintiandi, was magnificent. Special appreciation goes to Andy from the concierge for his outstanding customer service. The accommodations were luxurious, spacious, and impeccably clean. One evening, we ordered room service, and the food was delivered promptly and was flawless. The location is excellent, with Xintiandi's shops and restaurants conveniently situated across the road. I will certainly choose to stay here again.

I would like to share my deepest appreciation for the exceptional service I received from Hardy Men during my stay at The Langham, Shanghai. While I was in Shanghai, I encountered a problem when trying to buy a toy for my son, a promise I had made to him before our trip. Unfortunately, I struggled with a local online platform (Baidu) because I didn’t have a Chinese mobile number, and the verification process kept failing due to the language barrier. After several attempts, all of our accounts—mine, my sister's, and my mother's—were locked, and we were about to give up. It was then that I met Hardy at the Langham Club on the 27th floor. From the moment I spoke with him, he went above and beyond to help us. He assisted with translations and did everything he could to resolve the account issues we were facing. When it seemed like we had no other option, I asked Hardy if he could help us by ordering the toy through his account. Despite it being outside his usual duties, he kindly and willingly agreed. He even went the extra mile by tracking the delivery for us to ensure everything went smoothly. Hardy’s willingness to help and his genuine kindness were truly remarkable. He could have easily declined, but instead, he showed compassion and went out of his way to assist us, simply because he wanted to help another person. Thanks to him, I was able to keep my promise to my son, and that meant the world to me. I am deeply grateful for Hardy’s exceptional service, and I am incredibly impressed by his kindness and dedication. Thank you, Hardy, and thank you to The Langham for having such an outstanding individual on your team.

Nothing to complaint.

We arrived at the Langham early in the morning Monday January 13th and left on Friday 17th and just before the busy Chinese New Year celebrations. We were really looked after by the Langham Club Manager Zoe Peng and her staff who facilitated our numerous meetings at the Club meeting room, always available and willing to check and look after our guests, recognising and remembering mine and my colleague’s name after just one day stay at the hotel and making our breakfast and evening drink time an occasion which we did not want to miss. Although Langham Shanghai maybe in the best location for shopping, restaurants and the centre, it is the staff and their excellent and professional service levels that make the difference, and in our case as we were on a business trip it was Zoe and her Langham Club team. We will always come back to the Langham Shanghai on the regular business trips we have to Shanghai from London. Thank you Zoe and team for contributing to a successful and relaxed Shanghai business trip and making our stay memorable.

Everything about the hotel was beautiful, and it was so handy to have our room on the 27th floor, next to the Club Lounge. The room was spacious and luxurious, and the view was fantastic. Great location, with beautiful high end shops and shopping malls within easy walking distance. Impeccable service from staff who spoke English very well.

Unfortunately, the food let the hotel down a little bit. Some things weren't satisfactory – such as hot foods at breakfast being left to sit out for too long and go cold. At afternoon tea, the sandwiches were a little stale. On the whole, the food selection was great. But the hot breakfast was a disappointment and didn't measure up to a different 4 star Shanghai hotel that we'd stayed at during our first stopover in Shanghai.
