it was a nice breakfast and you can choose European continental food as well as chinese food and drinks, the setting for breakfast as also very nice and cosy with large chairs and tables, the location is very good in the middle of the shopping area, very centrally and close to metro and easy for taxi's to find.

the croissants were fresh I think only 1 time a week, the rest of the week they were old. the staff does not speak very well English but they are very kind. They could make the rooms with two separate beds a family room maybe for 3 or 4 persons as the single beds are very large.

A walking distance from 2 metro stations, which are Huaihai Rd. Middle Station (exit 1) & Shaanxi Road (South) Station (exit 3). Self service laundry & dryer located at level 2, but need to pay using Alipay/WeChat Pay. Luggage storage is available as well. Nearby a Malaysian halal restaurant called Secret Flavor (at 4F in a shopping mall)

Very good location, a lot of options local or western food, bars, shopping. Very close to South Shaanxi Rd. Exit 3 and Huahai Rd (M) Exit 2, Good breakfast (hot and cold options), even there is a free of charge Congee at night. Internet as usual in China, is blocked for Google, Facebook and others applications. TV only shows China channels. There is a AI device (like SIRI or Alexa), but only in chinese, couldn't find how to set it in english

From the street to access hotel, you need to pass in front of garbage bins from another hotel, usually very smelly. Hope can improve this.

The location is good and convenient but might not be for elderly citizens as it needs walking rather long distance. The staff is very helpful as much as they can, it is just that you have to be prepared for the language barrier and be aware of cross-cultural things (that's why you explore the world, right!).

The mapping location given by booking.com which links to the location in google map is wrong. You shall not rely on it. The best is to ask the hotel directly. Another thing (minor one) is the web booking.com should show all amounts including the handling fee here rather than to be informed at the hotel counter.

Comfortable and spacious rooms equipped with all necessary amenities. Friendly and accomodating staff. Tasty breakfast. Great location, only 4 mins walk to subway station and shopping centers.

Close to a garbage collection place, smelly on the way to and from the hotel but no smells inside the hotel. Toilet flushes a bit slowly and my shower door didnt close completely, water would leak out

We had a very good stay at the hotel. On the infamous rubbish stench issue at hotel entrance area, there was only a slight one on the first day. Location is good with access to two metro stations within walking distance. Our bed is comfortable and toothbrushes etc are available at reception area for guest to use. Staff are friendly and helpful. We took breakfast on about alternative days - besides stables such as scrambled eggs, toast etc., there were some changes to the menu and we are happy with the food quality.

There is just one room card, which may be a bit inconvenient if one wishes to rest in room while the other wants to go out. However, it will not affect us coming back to this hotel when we visit Shanghai again. Thanks!

We absolutely loved the location—it was very convenient and perfect for our needs. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. However, we did encounter an unexpected issue during our stay. One morning, it started raining inside our room, and some paint fell from the ceiling due to the water. While this was a surprising situation, the staff handled it very well. They quickly addressed the problem and moved us to a new room without any hassle. Despite this incident, we didn’t experience any discomfort beyond that, and we would still consider coming back because of the fantastic location and overall positive experience.

- the location!! Possibly the best in Shanghai - near 2 main metro stations, so many eateries around and shopping. You’re literally right next door to popular shops like tamburins. The hotel is hidden past a bigger entrance so it’s still very quiet despite being on a busy street - Super friendly staff > helped us order in when we had issues with using the apps - clean facilities and we had an early check in at 10am - rooms were cleaned daily and supplies replenished including free water - good shower pressure and conditioner - AC was great in summer - beds super comfy!!

- foreigners might struggle because staff can only speak Chinese - not the safest > anyone can access the rooms as the door is not locked and the stairs are right in front of the entrance

The staff are excellent; professional without being cold, friendly without being too personal. The internet was excellent at all times, as was the a/c, hot/cold water, and very low noise levels at all times of day. My room was private, calm, very comfortable, and convenient - like being cocooned. It was 37°C / 99°F outside and I temporarily shut off my a/c to have a shower in a warmer room - the a/c has adaptable temperature and fan speed. The breakfast was delicious; fantastic, creamy scrambled eggs were my highlight but the coffee and pastries were also very high quality (far better coffee than I was served in the Shanghai Marriott), as was the 'proper' crunchy, wholemeal bread (not the soft, faux bread served in most places). It was served over 3 1/2 hours every AM and I was very early and very late and at both times it was fully stocked. The location is excellent, very close to several Metro lines and in a very hip, busy area. The staff are happy to help with any requests you might have.

I suppose I might like to stay in a less busy, less central area sometime - if you like quiet walks then you need to go a few stops on the Metro to get there.

The location is amazing to explore the city from! The room was also clean and comfortable. But the best part of the hotel is how helpful the staff were, because I don't own a china hp number, I was unable to make calls for restaurant reservations nor food delivery app orders, which the front desk staff kindly assisted me with. :)

Do note that their wifi only allows access to China apps, but even then the connection was slow and spotty. In addition, the room heating is centrally controlled. Whilst I understand they would like their guests to feel toasty in spite of the chilly weather but setting the temperature at 28 degrees is almost a sauna.
