Location is very nice. The Windows and overall sound dampening is astonishing,given the Construction currently on site. The staff is very friendly and tries to make the stay as comfortable as possible,directly comes to action when needed. Room cleaning was really friendly and took good care of us. The luggage room is the best design of the rooms and really makes a difference for us.Starbucks Reserve is just around the corner. Mini bar offers lots of good drinks and coffee. Really a great touch to convenience. Good wine choices even.

Having stayed here before, this year something felt different. The level of attentiveness couldn’t live up to our past experience. It just felt like there was a lack of details in the overall experience-despite the friendly welcome card. We had a strong cigarette smell during our first night, which the staff immediately solved with an air purifier. Ocassionally there still was cigarette smoke seeping in. The rooms generally lack some maintenance- the window curtains/blinds squeak loudly when opened. Some areas are hard to reach for room cleaning,just by design(height of mirror f.e) While we still love the rooms, we might also look around other locations next time.

The location of the hotel was perfectly situated in Shanghai! Originally we wanted to stay in one of the many 5 star hotels on the popular Bund river, but this location had so much more to offer! It was conveniently situated to walk, just about anywhere for restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The staff were very accommodating and ever so friendly and made our stay very enjoyable with their recommendations and local tips. Most, if not all, staff spoke good, if not very good English and were used to an international level of service with a smile! Nothing was too much for them! A special mention for Bruce, Nick and Judy who were all absolute stars and were always full of energy and smiles!!!

The Middle House is in a perfect location right on Nanjing Rd, connected to one of the best malls in Shanghai and across the street from a metro hub and the lovely Zhang Yuan area. The hotel has superb rooms and facilities with a fantastic indoor pool, gym and sauna. The rooms was decorated with great care and was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was very good and provided a great start of the day. Finally, the staff was just superb, very attentive and thoughtful during the whole stay adding continuous personal touches to our stay. Cannot recommend enough the Middle House!

I was upgraded to a bigger room with lots of windows which was great however the windows are not properly screened/glazed from the outside therefore lacking in privacy and having to shut the blinds down defeat the purpose of having windows and keeping the natural lights out

It really is the best hotel to stay in Shanghai. The food is delicious and there are so many choices, Italian, the main restaurant, the bar and the Chinese restaurant. The location is fantastic, and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable and happy. Loved my stay there.

For some reason, this time the wifi was not great.

The location was very convenient. There was a lot around - shopping and dining. The staff was also very nice and attentive. My flight changed last minute and they were able to help with a speedy check out and airport transportation.

The rooms were a bit dark. I would have liked for it to be brighter and for me to manual adjust.

The central location, beautiful facilities and massive swimming pool. The SPA is a must-try. Its quite experience but worth every cent. Hui Xu (Zihui) was excellent and made me feeling back home. She was very patient and detailed about my stay. I had a great time because of her professionalism. Fantastic range of New Zealand wine.

Well the service and people are so friendly and helpful. I was on a businees trip with a tight schedule and Nifty from the from desk went out of her way to go buy me Channel perfume for my wife. She even paid for it and i refunded her, WOW who even does that these days !!!!

The location was great, the staff were incredible. The food outstanding. The décor brilliant. All in all a great hotel to stay at. I would highly recommend it.

There was nothing I did not like about the property. The bathroom could have have had a bit more light to do your make up and I would have liked a full length mirror.
