Friendly staff in the middle of everything. Nice breakfast

Oh man you HAVE to be careful not to get the second floor of the side of the Main Street. The bar is called Mojito and it might not show up on google maps but it’s the loudest bar and it’s on the second floor about 5 feet from the windows. You will get the worst sleep known to man. You will feel like you are trying to sleep in the middle of a club in Mexico City. Those rooms have to be the worst of any hotel I’ve stayed at. Thank the hotel gods for another room across the hotel being available. We switched and the next couple of nights were great.

Great stay at Papaya Lodge - My private room was clean, comfortable, and had air conditioning and a private bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was a nice bonus. The pool, second-floor hangout, and hammock area made it a great place to relax. Filtered water and a shared kitchen were also provided, which was a nice touch. The location was excellent for exploring El Tunco.

There’s some noise at night from a nearby bar, but it wasn’t too bad. Earplugs could help if you’re sensitive to sound

Hotel's location is perfect- 3 min from the beach. Great crowd, and great guests at this hotel. I met so many wonderful people from all over the world. They were all very nice and like-minded. I think the best part of the hotel are the guests.

The staff we're not bad, but they're also not great. They did not seem to be happy with their job. It was not exceptional, but it was not, but either. I wish they were a lot more friendlier.

The atmosphere and clientelle is awesome. Staff is helpful, does also speak English. Private room is very nice, with nice bathroom and functioning AC. Location is great.

Didn’t like the dorms too much. Also wished they had more surfboards for rent for beginner/intermediate.

Location was pretty great and the value was top notch. Very short walk to the beach. I parked my car at the other Papaya hotel in Surf City which no one seemed to have a problem with. Room was pretty spacious.

As may be typical in El Salvador there was no hot water in the shower, though it was pleasant enough.

Everything was great! Comfortable rooms with aircon, breakfast was nice! Staff were very helpful and the location is very close to the beach

Perfect location in El tunco, so convenient for surfing, going to the beach and restaurants/ bars. Very sociable. Clean room. The pool area is great in the day to hang round and meet people.

loud at night with bars next door, people chatting outside room at 4am every night. The breakfast was very average but what do you expect free from a hostel. But nothing bad about the hostel.

The location was perfect walk to everything. Stores, rentals and restaurants meters away. Great social vibe in lodge.

Just a bit on the expensive side but the aircon was worth it.

I love how close to the beach it is and the convenience of being by “downtown”

The cost was a bit high for what it actually is but it is conveniently by the beach.

Staff went above and beyond to make my stay an excellent vacation. Papaya’s location and amenities is excellent for surfers looking for a relaxing hotel to stay.
