10 out of 10! Highly recommend! This is what happens when the owner pays attention to the details! Towels, cosmetics, water temperature and pressure, bedding, mattress, pillows—everything was of excellent quality! I mentioned that I would bring my dogs with me, and in the room, I found a new dog bed and trays with bowls for food and water. Such a small detail that shows how much the owner and staff care about their customers! Thank you for that! The view from the window was incredible! This lake, the foliage, the mountains—oh my! It was pretty quiet at night despite the road right next to the motel. I hope I have the chance to come back in the winter!

One suggestion: it would be nice to have extra hangers or a wardrobe.

The Sara Placid Inn is in a great location, with easy access to the town, but with enough distance to feel a bit more isolated. I stay in this hotel every time I travel to Saranac Lake (which I do frequently) and the rooms are always clean and comfortable, with great television services, great wifi, and great access to the town.

The parking lot can get a bit muddy when it rains, which is pretty common for the area, and it isnt really anyones fault. No one can fix the rain.

Excellent location. Just minutes away from shopping areas, hiking and bike trails and water access in back of property and across the road...less than 100 yards away. Very clean and quiet. We are definitely planning to come back here soon!

Wish we had booked a unit with a kitchenette, which they have several in the complex.

Great location and very clean.

We went during the quiet season so you needed to let the water run for a bit before it got hot. Not really an issue, just felt bad wasting water.

Good location and room size. Staff was very helpful. Room was clean. Eating area with a little kitchen table and chairs and sink, gazebos on the water and stained-glass light in our room. Water was hot.

Noise level between rooms was high but people were respectful. Rooms were dated but still had some charm. Price seemed high for what you got and the time of the year. I think that is the nature of the area as all the hotels/motels in the area seemed high.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The jacuzzi worked ,but not all the jets. But all and all, it was relaxing . It was different and easier when we arrived, not having to go to the office to get a key. The key pad worked great for arrival and departure . I would recommend friends to stay at sara placid.

Awesome experience

Loved the check in process, this is how it should be - I pay, you give me the key code, and no one bothers anyone! Especially since we arrived late. The rooms were ok, bathroom was clean and lots of Keurig coffee available in the room! The surroundings were beautiful, right by the lake.

Just the creaky floor! I could hear people upstairs and even in our rooms (party of 3), plus the door was hard to open/close separating the two rooms.

It was in walking distance of a restaurant. And near the water. And coffee pods were good.

That I thought we were going to a different hotel. Because of the advertising picture you had up. The place was run down. And we saw no one. Just a paper and email with instructions. No face to face help if was needed.

Unattended check-in. Cleanliness of bathroom. Furniture design.

Absence of rack to hang clothes. Rug squares stained or out of place (recommend vinyl plank). Absence of a sheer curtain behind black out curtains. Canadian goose droppings.

Our room (#14) was spacious, clean and comfortable--like an apartment where everything was taken care of for us. The bedding was fantastic. The family room was where we spent most of our time; the hulu worked well. Perhaps best of all was the location itself. It's right near the water and has an adjoining pond; within walking distance are good, reasonably priced eateries--the Blue Line Brewery, La Bella Ristorante, Mountain Mist ice cream, Casa Del Sol.
