Loved: The room, the access to the lake, the kayaks and SUP were great to use, close to downtown & stores. Very peaceful and relaxing. Clean. Pool wasn’t open but we were able to use TownHouse Lodge pool during our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

I booked a Queen Suite because in the picture it had a stovetop, but upon arrival we realized our room did NOT have a stovetop.. I called and she said there should be a stovetop, that she’d call me back about it but I never heard back from her. After our stay, I called and asked for a partial refund & again, didn’t hear back from them.. would’ve been nice to just cook quick things for my kid during the stay, especially because I paid a little extra for the suite solely for the stovetop.

We loved our stay at Placid Bay Hotel. The grounds are beautiful, fun, and peaceful. There are games to play outside with your family, kayaks, canoes, life vests ect. In addition to the grounds, the staff started a campfire with complementary S‘mores making station. We stayed in the Mallard house, it was so comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed except for dish towels and or paper towels haha.

The pool was under construction and it was not disclosed prior to booking our visit.

Our stay at placid bay was exceptional from start to finish. We really liked the contactless check in and check out. We booked the hotel after 2 pm, so we had to call and get the room number and door code. But upon calling we were delighted to receive a complimentary room upgrade with a breathtaking view. The room itself was spacious and clean. We were able to park right in-front of our room too. Walkable to town, and a quick drive to other stores. Every detail made us feel relaxed and well taken care of.

The room was well appointed and the facilities are plenty: pool (didn’t enjoy it because of the rain), fire pit, garden, kayaks. The room is very small but the little round table and the fridge were very practical. I wasn’t thrilled by the fact that there is no reception, but the check-in was smooth and there are maintenance staff around in the mornings cleaning the rooms and making sure that the common facilities are all set up. The young cleaning lady was very helpful even if she didn’t speak much English.

Our double room was very small so the double bed is almost up against one wall. There is no night table nor reading lamp on that side which is not practical (I don’t understand why since we both have phones, books, watches…) On the floor there is barely place for two duffle bags so it would have been nice to have hooks somewhere to hang clothes. The fan in the bathroom makes an awful noise and needs to be replaced. It is well appointed but it is still a motel: outdoor corridors overlooking the parking area so I found it overpriced at almost 200 us. We were lucky to have the first room by the stairs on the second floor that had a little window with partial view of the lake.

We like smaller hotels. Our king bedroom was set up with a little kitchenette with a sink and frig and microwave. We had a small table and chairs and a nice TV. This is not a fancy place but it’s all we expected and conveniently located with a nice little back yard with access to Lake Placid via canoe, paddle board or kayak. Nice management as well.

Sadly the pool was not able to be opened. The nice manager let us know on before we arrived and they offered their other pool at a property they also mangage up,the hill.

I loved the easy no contact check in. The room was gorgeous. I loved the complintary kyaks/paddle boards. I loved it all it was so great. Thank you :)

As a vegan I wish their was non dairy creamer. The ones that came in the room for the coffee had a milk derivative in it so it wasn't vegan friendly. The shower was making a vibrating noise while using it as well. Other than that it was amazing!!

It's a really nice cute little place with amazing views, if you pick the room that states it has views, otherwise you will either see the parking lot or other buildings. We had lake and garden views and they were awesome! Beds are very comfortable, good amenities - we chose the kitchenette, so that helped too. It was a keyless entry but we had no problems with that and no staff on site, but again that didn't bother us and anything we needed was available in the lobby. Overall, a great stay!

Everything was great except when we first got to the room, it was clean but there were towels left in the bathroom from previous guests which were obviously used. I did call about it to report it and they apologized and stated they could drop off more towels or we could get sone from the lobby, which we did. So, apart from that, no complaints. I do think an inside doormat should be added to all the rooms especially when snowing, just so we are not bringing in too much from outside. We put down a (used) towel though so no biggie. (We were not there for rentals and I think you have to light the fire pit yourself)

Beautiful property, very well maintained and equipped. The room had everything we needed and was cozy and comfortable. The outdoor area with access to the lake is extremely well maintained, and there were plenty of activities to enjoy, such as kayaking, taking a ride on the little boat, and stand-up paddling, even though swimming wasn't an option. The location is great. We could do mostly everything walking.

The pool wasn’t heated :( The bed mattress wasn’t too comfortable.

Location was great.

More lighting needed in the room. The room was perfect for one person but for two with luggage, there wasn’t enough space to hang out when weather was rainy. Aesthetically it needed paint (outside) & flowers in the flower boxes on our level were mostly dead & needed pruning. Was disappointed in the kayaks. A couple of them were not usable as the seats were broken & the paddle boards had no fins.

We’ve stayed here several times over the years, but not since the new ownership and renovation. We love the location, on Lake Placid but a short walk to Main Street. There are still canoes and kayaks for use on the lake, and even more chairs as well as a fire pit (which was never lit while we were there, unfortunately). The room was clean and the linens and towels were very nice. Bathroom was well stocked with nice products.

With the little kitchen area and the king size bed, the room seemed crowded. Also, the lighting in the room could have been better. We never saw a person, and it’s fortunate we didn’t need any help.
