Nice location right on the river and a gentle walk into the interesting town. The reception and restaurant staff were very welcoming and helpful, switching to English and coped with my terrible French when I said I thought that in France we should speak French. Breakfasts very good and the two evening meals we had there were also good.

The room was a bit small for more than just an overnight stay. There is a lot of parking space in the garage (it was never full when we were there) but for us parking was a bit problematic because our Mercedes V Class is slightly taller than the 2.0m height restriction. After a bit of discussion at reception, we discovered that the section of the garage close to the entrance is a fair bit higher than the rest and there are about 4 "tall" bays available there and one was free. But when we wanted to go on a day trip the hotel wouldn't block one off for our return. Because we couldn't be sure of a place to park, we couldn't go. Some hotels restrict the use of "tall" bays to tall vehicles (VW Transporters, V-class Merc, Range Rovers etc) and that would have been helpful.

Staff very welcoming and caring. Big and comfy bed, good sized TV, nice bathroom. We enjoyed very much the relaxing area: jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna and hammam were all included in the price and worked well. The restaurant (where we took our dinner and breakfast) is overlooking the Loire river, and offers a good variety of choices with relaxed and very competent service. As you can expect in this region, advices on wine choice are always 'spot on' :) The covered parking was also good for us, even though public car parks are available all around.

The room decoration was not really to my taste (a lot of red) but it was practical. We did not have a bathrobe or slippers in the room so had to change in the changing room of the relaxing area, a bit cramped and not very nice looking, but that's a detail.

Even by the high standards of the Mercure chain of hotels, this one is exceptional. A beautiful, modern building which is mostly a giant, glass-roofed atrium, it provides huge, airy, light spaces. The bar in the atrium is a very comfortable and pleasant place to sit. There is a good indoor swimming pool plus sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We ate very well in the restaurant. The bedroom was spacious and well equipped.

We really like the staff. Everybody was super friendly and very welcoming. Also the position of the hotel is a big plus. You can enjoy a nice view over the Loire river and also you're close to the city center.

I think that the furniture could be upgraded to a newer version. It has a feeling of a bit older furniture and a bit used.

Staff were exceptionally good. They were at least bilingual (their English much better than our French!) and they were very helpful with tourist suggestions and information. Plentiful public parking adjacent to the hotel.

Restaurant was good but a little expensive. Hotel's car park was expensive , although not a problem as alternatives availalbe.

Excellent location on the north bank of the Loire - 5 minutes’ walk from the old town and 5 minutes’ drive to access A10. Indoor swimming pool and the gym has views of the river. Bed was very comfortable and shower room very clean. Small fridge in room to keep drinks cool.

Too many small lights from thermometer and TV and ceiling sprinkler which kept us awake. Not sure if there is a way of dimming them or switching TV off completely at night.

The staff was excellent, very friendly and professional. They accommodated our request to stay just a bit past the checkout time to facilitate managing our baggage.

The shower with the open wall is quite uncomfortable for getting the bathroom floor wet. We understand the use for hygiene reasons, but making it just a bit longer would be helpful. Or at least provide a few extra towels to help manage any mess.

Very central located, very good breakfast, dog friendly, handy small fridge in the room. Reasonable stay.

Rather unfriendly staff looked like was making me a favor checking us in and answering my questions about parking. Parking at the hotel was full so I parked in the long parking area (a part of it is for free) in front of the hotel overnight which looked safe.

The breakfast was the best of all the hotels on this trip. I especially enjoyed the wide variety of teas, breads, cheeses and cured meats.

The A/C never got the room cooled. Our window was closed and the dark curtains were used.

The location was perfect for visiting the town. Five minutes walk along the bank of the Loire to the centre. Blois itself is a lovely town. The hotel facilities were excellent. Pool, bar restaurant. For us secure and private parking are important. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of hot and cold food, good coffee, non dairy milk all in plentiful supply. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. We were able to access the room before the normal check-in time. And the room itself was up to standard. Clea, well furnished and equipped. A/C was most welcome. A second visit will be necessary to visit more of the attractions of this beautiful part of France.

We weren't able to spend more time in Blois!
