Beautiful building. Great riverside location Friendly staff. Food v nice

Limited parking. Poor directions to rooms for some of our party with limited mobility. No help with luggage was offered from reception. Table for afternoon tea for 5 cramped as a table for 4 was offered. Box supplied for left over afternoon tea but we were left to pack it ourselves. Usually left overs for taking away are packed in the kitchen (in my experience)

Beds comfortable, rooms relatively clean, lovely decor in penn and cob and on Anna’s tearoom, parking on site, stylish reception area and very helpful staff when we had a problem with one of the rooms; breakfast was good - plenty of options

Service in Anna’s tearoom was abrupt both when booking our afternoon tea we rang to confirm gluten free options and was told to book online, then on day server would not clarify about gluten free when asked questions - we were told ‘yes we know all about gluten free’; dirty teacup was given during tea; also one of the rooms booked in our party smelt of vomit but hotel did move the girls when asked

We paid extra for a king size bed and we don’t believe the rooms we were allocated had this size bed. The room was beautiful though Arrived at restaurant to have a pre booked meal before our show to find the kitchen had experienced an electrical fault ! So we failed to be able to take advantage of the 50% offer on main meals. We then had a panic to find somewhere else to eat at short notice. Self service breakfast was ok - plenty of choice but please sort the bacon out the white salt/fat appearance is not very appetising. On a plus all the staff are super helpful and work hard

It’s sat in really lovely grounds that are well maintained. Hotel is comfortable. For me, the big test is how breakfast works. It works very well everyone is seated greeted real coffee on the table. Not a great selection, but I don’t go for English breakfasts. Menu it’s very good and the food is very good. I had cod which was delicious. The pool and the outside Jacuzzi stay open until 10 pm. It was really comfortable for me coming with my dog, which is a big dog and we were welcomed. Lots of walking areas in the Woodlands around. I was treated very well as a single woman traveller. I have to say all the staff without exception were very friendly and accommodating.

I don’t mind paying for the dog stay but it would be very nice to have things like dog bowls for water.

The room was spacious (considering it was the 'basic' room). Tea and coffee facilities were good, nice to have a mug and a treat to have some biscuits. Really liked the bathroom products, they smell delicious and I am now on the hunt to find some to purchase. Lovely big fluffy towels, warm bathroom, good shower, nice TV. All the important things for an overnight stay. We booked room only and decided to have breakfast the next morning, it was delicious. Very good value for money and the coffee maching was particularly good.

The wardrobe (room 110) - it had a corner wardrobe, but it wasn't possible to hang anything up in there because of the minibar fridge and the room safe.

Beautiful hotel bursting with friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to make us feel very special. Huge thanks to Claire, Ash and Anya in the Restaurant for being so attentive and accommodating. The visual team had also worked their magic. The plentiful Christmas trees and decorations were absolutely stunning and there was a lovely atmosphere throughout the hotel. I will certainly recommend a visit to all my family and friends.

We were unable to park in hotel car park, fortunately I had a friend living locally who let me park on her drive! Coffee at breakfast was far too strong with an unpleasant taste……should offer lattes and cappuccinos.

Kept waiting at check-in for 5 minutes. Couldn't use the electronic screens as they didn't have my booking, and a pin code was required to register my car for parking. Had to ask twice at Anna's for someone to come to reception. When a member of staff turned up her customer service wasn't good - she just looked at me expectantly with no apology for keeping us waiting. Perhaps just having an off day - this was the only bad thing about our stay.

Booked this hotel as close proximity to a friend who I was visiting over the weekend. I will definitely book again as the hotel decor was really nice, the food was enjoyable, but the best asset was the staff, especially restaurant FOH last Saturday whose name I think was Daniel. Very polite, genuine and helpful. Best service I've had in a while - he left a really good impression.

The bed and pillows weren't the comfiest, but I'm a fussy sleeper and tend not to sleep great whenever I'm away from my own bed! The door on the bathroom needs fixing (room 240)

The hotel was superb and we liked the decor and architecture. A good place to have afternoon tea and a meal. The location was very good and having safe parking was a bonus. The staff we dealt with were professional and helpful. Our room was acceptable but we should have upgraded. It was nice and spacious. We would have preferred a walk in shower.

We were disappointed in the breakfast and evening meal. There was no service at breakfast. The evening meal was disappointing. The bread was uneatable. One small piece of sea bass with potato for £22 was not what I was expecting. Service was slow as well.

Very pretty location Was a little (lot ) upset that I was e mailed and asked if I wanted a room upgrade to which I responded yes . I also rang and e mailed as it was our anniversary . Each time I was advised that no it was no possible you were fully booked My best friend rang the day before and her room was beautiful ! She had the upgraded room I had been requesting for three months and that’s not really very nice . Her room was also cheaper and included breakfast and nine did not . Also I sat in reception for 45 mins unable to manage all my bags to take up to the room . I had to wait for my husband to drive around and find parking . No one offered to help me.
