This hotel is fantastic in every respect i was there for three days and still did not work out where everything was or see all of the facilities on offer all the food is quality the breakfast is all you can eat the rooms are very large the tiled bathrooms are exceptional the beds are very comfortable to sleep on all the staff were exceptional very professional and attentive out side is picturesque with the river with swans ducks and wildlife all around go outside the rowing club come by in their boats

Parking nowhere near enough for the size of the hotel or its substantial foot fall day or night

The spa was clean and comfortable and a good size, and the pool was a good temperature. The afternoon tea room looked very nice and I had a good view of the river from my room and I paid a good room rate for the standard of room I have paid more at certain Travelodge for example also without breakfast not cursing them as they have good one too just that lot people know the cost of staying at one

A tiny lift and no stairs to the 3rd floor other than the emergency staircase The dining/.restaurant had a few tables set up what felt like if I'd sat there, it would feel I was in corridor that's just my opinion. Some of the menu seemed a little overpriced. However, food tasted ok

We have stayed here for the last 6 years at least once if not twice a year due to location and nice feel about the hotel.

We have stayed here the last 6 years at least once if not twice a year due to visiting family close by. We always book well in advance of our stay and always request a high floor with river view. As yet we have never had a river view room. We are told on request that it cannot be guaranteed but nearer the time hotel will try and accommodate. Very disappointed to yet again this year not be granted the request, even more disappointing I have emailed the hotel twice since our return last weekend to ask what would we need to do to have this request assured on next visit. As yet had no reply from the hotel. We always within the stay make full use of bar and restaurant and while we would still stay it would be nice to have a room we request especially when booking so far in advance.

The room that I was given and the helpfulness of the staff member at reception on check in. Liked the new fitness centre and the fact there was a new build and fabulous breakfast.

The first room allocated in the new building did not have a wardrobe or any hangers! The room finally allocated had a very tiny sink which would not be suitable for anyone. Allso the fitness centre lacked any towels or disinfectant wipes and lacked any mats for floor exercises. There should also be free water provided. Two bottles of water in the fridge provided would have also been appreciated. Bar and restaurant staff are rushed off their feet in the evenings resulting in long waits.

The hotel is beautiful. It is old and has a lot of charm. It’s right across the street from the river. The decor is really elegant and colorful and beautiful with bright orange and green velvet couches and chairs. We loved the restaurant decor and the food was great.The stuff were very friendly.

The rooms are pretty small, much smaller than we are used to. But we also recognize that that’s how a lot of things are in England. Other than that, I had everything we needed. Also, the price was pretty good. Downtown Bedford seemed slightly sketchy at night as we were walking back from the concert.

Limited parking. Poor directions to rooms for some of our party with limited mobility. No help with luggage was offered from reception. Table for afternoon tea for 5 cramped as a table for 4 was offered. Box supplied for left over afternoon tea but we were left to pack it ourselves. Usually left overs for taking away are packed in the kitchen (in my experience)

Beds comfortable, rooms relatively clean, lovely decor in penn and cob and on Anna’s tearoom, parking on site, stylish reception area and very helpful staff when we had a problem with one of the rooms; breakfast was good - plenty of options

Service in Anna’s tearoom was abrupt both when booking our afternoon tea we rang to confirm gluten free options and was told to book online, then on day server would not clarify about gluten free when asked questions - we were told ‘yes we know all about gluten free’; dirty teacup was given during tea; also one of the rooms booked in our party smelt of vomit but hotel did move the girls when asked

Room was clean, well decorated and spacious. Breakfast was adequate providing all main essentials. The Pen and Cob brasserie provided an excellent a la carte evening meal, food was superb, staff friendly and amazing value for money. By the river, close to the town which is easily accessible on foot.

Only cleaning the room every 2 days and having to ask for towels and tea to be resupplied. Parking was a problem but probably not all the time eg there was a wedding reception being held at the time of our visit.

We paid extra for a king size bed and we don’t believe the rooms we were allocated had this size bed. The room was beautiful though Arrived at restaurant to have a pre booked meal before our show to find the kitchen had experienced an electrical fault ! So we failed to be able to take advantage of the 50% offer on main meals. We then had a panic to find somewhere else to eat at short notice. Self service breakfast was ok - plenty of choice but please sort the bacon out the white salt/fat appearance is not very appetising. On a plus all the staff are super helpful and work hard

It’s sat in really lovely grounds that are well maintained. Hotel is comfortable. For me, the big test is how breakfast works. It works very well everyone is seated greeted real coffee on the table. Not a great selection, but I don’t go for English breakfasts. Menu it’s very good and the food is very good. I had cod which was delicious. The pool and the outside Jacuzzi stay open until 10 pm. It was really comfortable for me coming with my dog, which is a big dog and we were welcomed. Lots of walking areas in the Woodlands around. I was treated very well as a single woman traveller. I have to say all the staff without exception were very friendly and accommodating.

I don’t mind paying for the dog stay but it would be very nice to have things like dog bowls for water.
