Absolutely beautiful place and location. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The room was well presented and set out. The food was fantastic and fresh. We loved Tamanu and will be back.
The 6km long bumpy dirt road was horrendous and having to constantly travel this road made us rethink many day trips and stay at resort. The bed sheets were not changed unless requested and incorrect sheet sizes were used in place of fitted sheets. It meant that during the night you ended up sleeping directly on the mattress. Yes it is beach front but you are unable to swim at this beach.

Beautifully presented. Pool area gorgeous. Plunge pool was excellent. Restaurant on site was wonderful.
The ocean isn't for swimming - too rough, so if you're wanting to swim in the ocean or snorkel you'll have to go elsewhere. But we were aware of this when we booked so had arranged to have a stay elsewhere in Vila following this stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Tamanu on the Beach—it was everything we could have hoped for! The food was incredible, with every meal feeling like a special treat. The villas were stunning, with comfortable beds, great air conditioning, and the most amazing beach views that made waking up each day a joy. However, the true highlights of our stay were the incredible staff. Special thanks to Alice and Laura, who went above and beyond to make our experience so memorable. Their warmth, kindness, and fun personalities made us feel right at home.
The beach is mostly shallow coral / rock which you can swim at high tide but it isn’t really for snorkelling and is often choppy due to the onshore winds

Fantastic resort right at the beach. Everyone was super friendly and nice from the moment we arrived to the departure. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Food in the restaurant was also great, we liked in particular all the curries and some of the daily specials. The place is very secluded and it takes a bit to get from town to the resort. But that is of course also a plus! There is a free shuttle service to town every day which we used, the driver was very knowledgeable and gave us a little city tour since we were the only passengers on the bus on that day.
A morning clean-up for the pool would be nice, lots of leaves in the water during our stay, and unattended floating mattresses and pool noodles.

We've extended our stay, and we're still here! This place is nothing short of exceptional. The two bed villa is beautiful, the owners and staff are fantastic and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble and everything seems effortless which is a sign of great management. Food at the restaurant we delicious, especially vegetarian curries and baked eggs. The local staff all love kids, which was a highlight for us, especially at dinner time. We'll be back if we can!
It's quite far from town, but the resort puts on a daily free shuttle to town if you want to look around. We were happy by the pool, so that didn't bother us.

To everyone I highly recommend this intimate hotel for those who need peace and quiet and want to get away from resorts full of tourists. There is a great atmosphere here because of the staff, we felt as if we were in a large family. Very smiling, friendly and helpful people. For us especially helpful was Nicolas everything we asked for he helped us to organize from a private tour to diving. Nikolas once again we thank you very much😀. The hotel takes great care of the gardens which are very well maintained. But still I wanted to thank the theoretically invisible that is the cooks for five weeks of our trip around Australia and Oceania in Tamanu was the best cuisine every time we ordered something different and every time the dish surprised us with quality and taste. We thank you beautifully for this wonderful stay.
Such two small details that do not affect my rating but could be improved are replacing towels with softer ones and making sure that the hotel buses are more clean.

Seemless service from all the superb employees from collection at airport (thankyou Randy for local knowledge) to the dining, spa, villas and grounds staff. Everyone so delightful, attentive and accommodating. Thankyou for making my daughter's and my stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We are truly rested and fortunate to have stayed at Tamanu on the Beach for 3 glorious days. Here are a few of our suggestions to add to the whole experience. Although there are board games/ books and a few tours available, it would have been nice to be able to play a game outside on the lawn/patio or beach eg petanque or volleyball! Also, athough the dining menus were extensive with numerous specials on offer, we felt that a separate lunch menu would have been a lighter alternative for a snack..ie sandwiches/baguette, a prawn cocktail, chicken skewers, flat bread pizza or such. Otherwise we could not fault a wonderfully indulgent, relaxing holiday. Thankyou.

Location is spectacular. Good snorkeling on incoming tide with soft golden sand. Many beautiful shells and coral on beach. Great menu for all three meals and another option of a boutique pizza restaurant 50metres down the beach. The gardens and path you walk through to your villa is beautifully maintained and every day fresh flowers are placed in bathrooms, tables and on the various sculptures around the gardens. The staff were so helpful, friendly and fun to interact with.

Our room, the food in the resorts restaurant and staff were outstanding. Every staff member we spoke to always had a smile and did their best to provide to any of our requests... We would recommend this holiday to any body who would like to simply chill by the sea :)
Our only (very 3rd world) disappointment was that the property did not have a spa. Even though it is advertised as Tamanu on the Beach - Resort & Spa. Either a communal one connected to the pool or in their advertised Luxury Spa package was actually no spa..

This is a beautiful 5 star resort. Amazing location on the beach, beautiful villas, helpful and kind staff. Our two bedroom villa with pool was enormous and very comfortable. The service was spot on. The restaurant has a big menu and the food was delicious. It was a very special place and we had a wonderful time.
The road there is largely unpaved. Recommend booking the transfer through the resort so you get drivers who know the road well.
