Amazing little pub and B & B in the town where you can feel the presence of Winnie The Pooh everywhere you walk. The breakfast box was an amazing thing (breakfast in bed while you're still in your pyjama, I love it!) and the staff was super friendly, we could go down to the pub to ask for anything if we had a question. The pub has a very nice garden where we could sit and have a cider in the sun 👌. Heating in the room was good, shower was good, and there was a mini fridge in the room. Highly recommend 👍.

The room was cosy and comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Dinner was very good and we had the most amazing guy look after us. I wish I had got his name. There were 9 of us for dinner and he was so patient, polite, obliging and funny. He was the star of the show!

The breakfast which was supposed to be included in the price was a joke. A stale croissant and a yoghurt basically…if you want anything else you have to pay for it. So don’t expect a cooked breakfast. Didn’t bother with it after the first morning. WiFi only seemed to partially work in the bedroom and not downstairs. Over our 3 night stay, our room wasn’t serviced at all.

Great location for walks, really friendly staff, lots of nice touches in the room and really comfy massive bed (we stayed in Tigger)! Plus the bar has a nice atmosphere in the evening and they also do a delicious Sunday roast!

a cooked breakfast instead of continental included on higher weekend room rates would be great but other than that, no complaints!

Spotlessly clean and fresh. Room was new, homely with great shower. Bedding was clean and fresh. Staff all very friendly. Lovely breakfast hamper.

We had intended to go the pub in the evening for food and drinks but found out at 8pm that everything was shut! Would have appreciated someone making us aware of this as we didn't have enough food/ drink with us for the whole evening and couldn't drive anywhere as we had had a boozy lunch.

We ate at the anchor inn on our last stay to Ashdown Forest and decided to stay this time. We were in the Piglet room which was a twin room. It was spacious and had a nice bathroom and facilities. We had dinner there which was great. It was quiet at night as well which was good since we were over the pub. Location was fantastic and staff were helpful.

There was a little difficulty with the heating but we sorted this out. We also had to wait a while for breakfast but it was lovely when we got it. Room and sheets needed a bit of a clean however. A little pricey but we were happy to pay for the novelty.

Wonderful old building, as original as you can get. Most of the original fixtures and fittings are still there. The bed was very comfortable and with proper pillows, two each. The en-suite was excellent with a nice big shower head. The food was excellent too, although it took a while for the sweet to arrive Excellent local beer. The room we stayed in was the Pooh room, which put a great big smile on my wife's face, being a lifelong Winnie the Pooh fan.

The bar was as you would expect for an old building, timber joists, and low ceiling, very cosy. The accommodation rooms looked a little tatty with what looked like coffee stains and loops of wool here and there on the carpet as if something had caught and pulled out the wool and looked like it had been there for a while. Towels were not available at the time of check-in but were assured that they would be there when we got back from a walk. They were not. Had to remind a staff member. They arrived during our evening meal. Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

The staff was incredible. All the staff that I dealt with were fairly young, but they tried hard to meet my needs and make my stay very comfortable. I thought the bed was incredibly comfortable - I slept very well while I was there. I was in the Kanga room which was right above the bar. A little on the noisy side, but not so much that I couldn't fall asleep and sleep well. My breakfast the first morning was incredibly large. I asked for a smaller breakfast the second morning and the chef was very accommodating. All very nice!

The Inn is an older building and it does show it's age. Some of it adds to the charm of the place. Some of it could be updated a little.

Lovely little place to stay in the little village of Hartfield. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us even though they had not fully re-opened. Accommodation was spot on and traditional, clean and inviting. Breakfast was lovely with a full English provided even though we weren’t expecting that option. Couldn’t fault this place one bit, we had a fantastic weekend away.

Absolutely nothing

We recently just spent the weekend here for a wedding, was a beautiful little B&B, rooms were lovely and cosy, and the staff were lovely and so helpful/friendly. We loved the little breakfast hampers that were bought up, and the little mini fridge to store cold stuff in. Very happy with out stay.

Breakfast exceeded expectations. Midweek booking so breakfast was Continental only however this included a choice of eggs on toast (excellent poached eggs) and warmed croissants. As a non tea and coffee drinker I was pleased to be given hot chocolate. Very friendly staff. Bag kept securely after check out. Good range of toiletries. Large, comfy bed. Bottled water.

No towels in room on arrival but sorted very quickly. Drinking glass was dirty. I am sure it would have been changed if I had asked but it was late when I noticed it.
