The staff were very hospitable and helpful they went 'the extra mile' and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed an evening meal and breakfast; our meals were tasty and the service excellent. We particularly appreciated the 12 noon checkout as it gave us time to do the Uckfield parkrun and return for an unhurried breakfast and a shower before checkout time. We would stay there again.

Very, very impressed. The Inn is under new management and their approach and values are spot on. Love the way they have designed the layout and and decor downstairs. Bedroom very clean with an excellent shower. Full English Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had if not the best, especially the scrambled egg. We had a very warm welcome and there is a very friendly, generous vibe. We normally like to visit a new place each time we are away but this is a place we definitely want to go back to

n/a It represents excellent value for money. Having booked something just for one night within our budget to avoid a long journey there and back in one day, this far exceeded our expectations and would provide an ideal base for a much longer stay in Sussex.

We have stayed here previously and have found it to offer very good value accommodation in a very expensive part of the world. The staff are friendly, there is a well stocked public bar and although we didn't dine here on this occasion we have done so in the past and it has been very good. It is not a 'big log fires, four poster bed and trendy cuisine' type of place but it is clean, friendly and good value for money. We travelled by car but it is only a short walk from Buxted Railway Station.

Not a lot. I think it has identified its sector of the market and does a good job catering to it. If you want more luxury then go elsewhere - and be prepared to pay around 50% more

The pub downstairs is a lovely little place with the most amazing staff and food ! They were so attentive and informative and genuinely showed an interest in their guests! We happened to mention the reason we were staying in that particular area and they went above and beyond for us 🥹 we had the most pleasant time. An extra cherry on top for us was how accommodating they were for a family member with a serious intolerance. Having specific touches in the rooms were a really big hit !

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had an amazing dinner in the pub - delicious & generous portion sizes - and great wine. The room was comfortable, modern & clean - with a nice ensuite. The full english breakfast was great!

The kitchen closed at 8:30 the night we arrived so we were a little rushed with checking in and ordering food. Just for others to be aware of if they are used to eating later, but definitely not a complaint as the staff were so accomodating to us.

The host was very welcoming & friendly, we arrived early before check in but were able to leave our bags which they took to our room when it was ready. The rooms were more spacious than I expected. Very comfortable, breakfast was really nice too. Lovely place, we'd stay again! 😊

There was nothing not to like, the only issue we had is that it was not very easy to get taxis which is not their fault. So definitely pre book if you are planning on using taxi service

We had a quite enjoyable 2 night stay here when visiting family in the area. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming .

Our main gripe was how incredibly hot our room was and that our window was locked shut ,so it couldn't be opened. The bathroom and shower cubicle was also lacking in shelves , so nowhere to put your soap / shampoo. I think the listing needs to be updated to state that there is no longer a restaurant there and the nearest place is at another pub , the White Hart, a fair walk away .

Was very convenient to visit my friends. Very helpful staff help with bags as stairs involved.. Food was very good.

It is a pub on a busy road during the rush. I. Found the 10pm close a challenge . 11 would be more convenient if out at say at the Ooera. I had requested a double bed.. but arrived to a twin…. The lights need attention.. and window and blinds were difficult to manage for me…..

The inn is very nice. The service is good and friendly. The drinks in the bar are not expensive. The restaurant - on the days it works - is quite good. On the day the restaurant was closed there was a food truck near the inn.

We didn't like the breakfast pricing method. You pay for each item separately: main dish, juice, coffee, toasts with butter and jam. If you want a meal equivalent to the one you get in other hotels (which includes everything mentioned above in the price of the meal) it comes to a much higher price than what you pay in other hotels of this level. It's stingy and annoying. From conversations with other guests we realized that we are not the only ones who think so. On the second day we preferred to eat outside.

Bedroom and bathroom were without fault. Breakfast which was included in the price was good. Bar area and staff very nice.

Live music and Kareoke was taking place in the bar on the night I was staying, and the noise level in the bedroom was very similar to being in the bar, which made it impossible to go to sleep when I wanted. Even between 11pm and midnight music from sound system in bar could still be heard in the bedroom.
