Lovely, spacious room with good sized ensuite. Tasty food at a reasonable price. Plenty of outside seating. Staff are all excellent. Convenient location for local shops etc. Off road parking.

Not the hotels fault but the church bell rings every hour, on the hour. (Church is next door) Quaint at 3 in the afternoon but not at 3 in the morning. Ear plugs are provided in the room but not terribly effective. We were on motorbikes so more secure parking would have been great.

We did get a bit of a frosty reception when arrived. We could have done with help with our luggage as we have mobility problems. No help was offered, and we carried our bags to the room . The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. The blinds didn't cover the windows properly, so I had flashing lights coming in from the crossing . The road is very busy and nr a church, so the bells go off every hour, which kept me awake. There were ear plugs by the bed. The blinds in the bathroom were a bit grubby and could do with replacing. Breakfast was nice .

Amazing room. Very large. Lots of accessories inc toiletries and array of coffees, teas and other fancy options inc. oat milk sachets. Unusually great quality that I haven't found for a long time in a hotel. Massive TV!

Stairs and hallways carpets need replacing - old and 'dirty' looking. Noise from outside can't be avoided as is a busy road, but they do provide ear plugs. I didn't use and slept well as the traffic died down after 10pm to minimal.

We enjoyed an excellent cooked meal upon arrival and were greeted by helpful and friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basic but good.quality cooked food. We got what we adked for. Should have asked for fruit juice. Staff member Ben was very helpful and made our stay.

We noticed some traffic noise early morning but closed a window. It is still a really good location if walking the Vanguard Way route.

Large TV in the first room we stayed (overlooking the front). Staff friendly. They were happy to bring meals up to our room. Good breakfast. Lovely Sunday roast. We had to leave a day early and they were happy to refund the extra day even though we'd gone past the checkout time.

The pub is located by a busy road and roundabout so there is some street noise and noise from the pub below until closing time. This was only really noticeable in the first room we stayed in which overlooked the front. The 2nd room (we extended the original booking) was at the back and much quieter. But it didn't stop either of us from sleeping so only a minor point.

Sunday morning breakfast staff, not focused. We had to ask for everything and it look them an hour from when we came down to finishing our meal from their standard menu. This was stressful and very different from our experience with the Saturday breakfast staff and those on Friday and Saturday evening. We had family to meet and a train to catch so this was a problem.

Fantastic to be able to stay and have lovely drinks and dinner, and the breakfast was very good! Loved the bedrooms, nice decor and very very comfy beds! Our Bernedoodle Mr Darcy felt at home with the doggy menu available at the bar. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

Although the property is done out nicely, it was a shame to see it was in desperate need of a lick of paint in many places…

My room was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The bathroom was lovely! I had everything I needed, even down to some oat milk for tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was great, the coffee really good. And the staff were so helpful and welcoming. I would stay here again without hesitation, and recommend to others.

Maybe there was some traffic noise, but no more than most other hotels. And earplugs had been thoughtfully provided!

Room quite basic but very comfy bed and surprisingly quiet, given the location. Breakfasts were very tasty. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

It would have been nice to have had some cold breakfast options, such as granola, yoghurt and fruit, as we were staying for four nights and we didn’t really want a cooked breakfast every day. There were no clues regarding any room service. None was offered - which was fair enough over Christmas, but it would have been nice to have been offered fresh towels, more teas, coffees etc. We had to ask for replenishments

Lovely room, I was tucked away at the back of the property and a really nice room with everything you need. Comfy seat, workstation, great bathroom and comfy bed!

As my room was located around the back, it was really poorly lit and the path uneven and a little slippy in the wet. Loud fan which was switched off once the kitchen was closed, didn’t bother me but can imagine it would impact on some peoples stay
