My husband and I went to a wedding in the area and we arrived too early for check in and the rain was coming down hard, we thought we might be sat outside for ages. Someone saw us and let us in even though they had not opened yet. The lady also let us check in early by moving things around to help us get in and get ready for the wedding, which was so lovely! We hit a major issue, as we are not from the area but from London we had no idea the taxi issue in the area. Taxis either don’t ever work, booked up or don’t want to do small journeys. We did not know this, we could not get a taxi at all and Uber isn’t a thing there. The staff overheard my husband and I panicking that we would miss the ceremony so they offered to drive us! I couldn’t believe it, so nice of them! We made the wedding all thanks to the lovely staff! I didn’t catch the ladies name but Jude the Bar tender drove us and was amazing! Thank you all for going above and beyond for your guests.
Only minor thing I would say is that it’s a lot of money and you don’t get hot breakfast.

Nice spacious room, warm and comfortable. We had lunch in the pub which was very nice, good quality food and the staff and manager were all very friendly and helpful.
The glass shelf in the bathroom had a loose fixing which made it a bit unstable and needs fixing. To be fair it may have happened very recently and is in hand. We came back to the pub after an evening out and were a bit disappointed that they were closing early. The staff were still very accommodating and let us order a few drinks before taking them outside.

The Blackboys Inn is a very nice property and well managed. All the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The room was interesting: a living area on the ground floor and a mezzanine bedroom. The food was good, if a little overpriced (some dishes more expensive than London pubs!). My only poor experience was tough lamb rump.
My only real gripe was the breakfast - supposedly ‘continental delivered to your room’. It comprised a choice of cereals, a yoghurt, an apple and an orange and a muffin - left in the room the night before. Hardly continental. The excuse for this offering was Covid, which is clearly nonsense. If you stay at a country pub, one of the joys is a freshly cooked English breakfast. The breakfast was a serious let-down. If you seriously insist on an in-room continental breakfast, you need to do a great deal better than the present offering.

The room was very well put together. The mezzanine level with the bed was nicely thought through and offered a good separation between the living and sleeping areas. Weather wasn't good enough to use the outside space, but I expect it would be really good in the summer.
Just a few minor things to improve. There could have been some more mugs and cups in the room. We would have also appreciated an extra blanket, but it was ok without. As the bathroom door was right next to the front door, we ended up stepping on the same bit of floor with both muddy shoes straight from the outside and clean feet after the shower; maybe a doormat inside would have helped delineate.

Room was very warm and cozy on a cold winters night. Beds (double and sofa bed) were very comfortable, bathroom was clean and perfect. The host was very accommodating and polite in letting us arrive later in the night. All in all perfect for family our overnight stay.
breakfast was a continental (breakfast) provided in the room ..to be fair this is as advertised...but given the beautiful pub next door would be nice for hot breakfast on a cold winters morning...that said, the breakfast provided was amble and substantial for those who ate.

Very nice spacious room with terrace. Clean and modern. Good coffee bag, but only 1 each. Staff were nice about letting us checkout late if needed.
Breakfast is a few Childs cereal packs, 1 yoghurt and 1 muffin to be shared between 2 people? And an apple. Hardly would call that breakfast. A single coffee bag each and a single breakfast tea each. I can see other people have mentioned breakfast in the reviews and i can confirm it’s still like this and The Inn haven’t taken on this advice from guest. I read the breakfast in room is “due to covid”.

A lovely old country pub beautiful gardens serving tasty food. Accommodation was in a separate building next door and easily slept four people with large bathroom sitting room with sofa bed and patio doors with seating outside; stairs from the sitting room (not steep just normal) takes you up to a mezzanine level spacious with a huge comfortable bed. Everything felt well thought out and good quality. A fridge in the property plus a basket contained everything you would need for a continental breakfast
Nothing was pleased with everything wall stained at the bottom of the stairs looks like spilled, drinks so could be addressed to make the property perfect just a small niggle

The accommodation was perfect .We had a small sitting room, a bedroom on a mezzanine floor and a small outdoor area - perfect for ourselves and our dogs. The fields and woods just beside the Inn were perfect for dog walks . Relaxing and convenient for our purposes.
It's a shame that breakfasts are not served. We were left cereals and fruit which were adequate but a bit disappointing. Also I booked a room with 2 Queen size beds but there was only 1 which was not what I had expected and so was disappointed.

Exceptionally clean and the amenities were fantastic. A full continental breakfast was provided along with an array of teas and coffees in the room. The fresh milk and bottled water were lovely touches too. I would highly recommend staying here and would absolutely return. Thanks again.
I have no complaints at all. It was much more than I expected!

Continental Breakfast in the room would not be my personal preference but I have to complement the Inn for providing for the Gluten Free needs of my wife. The staff were all exceptional as was the dinner we had on Saturday Evening. The Inn was dog friendly and the location is perfect for walking although it was pretty wet during our stay. Our room was spacious and well appointed and perfect for a weekend stay.
