Fabulous historical building where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip stayed frequently when it was a private house. Sympathetically restored in keeping with the era of the building, excellent job id say. Particularly loved how they have taken details from the uncovered ceilings and translated them into the carpets and other details. If you appreciate historic houses, then I recommend staying here for sure. Beautifully kept grounds and gardens from manicured lawns to wonderfully wild areas for bees. The rooms are spacious and clean with huge, very comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and wonderful views of the gardens. The team of people who work there are a credit to the hospitality industry from the restaurant manager to the housekeeping team. You can tell they take pride in everything they do. The food was delicious both for breakfast and dinner. Nothing was too much trouble. In fact I loved it so much I stayed longer than planned with so much to see around the area ... I will definitely be back.

Location was good, easy to find with SAT Nav. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good quality and more than sufficient quantity. Bedroom was spotlessly clean. Bedding was excellent. Bed a little high for me (short person) but once on was very comfortable. Choice of pillows to cater for different tastes (firm, softer, bouncy etc) Coffee and tea making facilities good and biscuits were lovely! We were on the second floor, very quiet but a set of small narrow stairs to negotiate down to first floor then wide generous stairs to ground floor. We were able to use the lift, tiny but adaquate for up to 4 people.

Nothing really and I'm sure if we'd found something a member of staff would have probably sorted it with a smile and apology!!

Beautiful building set in lovely setting. We arrived early evening to a pianist playing which was so nice. Staff were excellent - very attentive and helpful. We had two dogs with us on this trip and the room was set up with two mats, two sets of bowls and doggy bags which was a nice touch. We ate in the restaurant and had a really tasty and enjoyable meal. Having stayed at both Alexander hotel and Ashdown Park hotel as comparisons I would thoroughly recommend staying here and will certainly visit again.

Everything was very nice. Perhaps our bed was a bit soft but I do prefer a hard mattress normally.

Nice quiet hotel, convienent for our trip. Staff were efficient. The opportunity to use the pool/spa facilities down the road was nice. The room was clean and the drinks/biscuits provided in the room were good.

Hoovering/cleaning in an adjacent room started just after 7am, which disturbed the peace a little bit. The wifi connection didn't work for me nor my wife. The bath was very small, particularly for a 'junior suite'. When we returned to the hotel in the evening, I couldn't find any members of staff, so didn't get a drink before bed (which I would have done otherwise).

Nice hotel and both the meals we had (dinner & breakfast) were very tasty and well presented so met our expectations. Room was very comfortable and the decoration of the whole hotel was very nice and to our own taste.

The price for the stay was acceptable and only a little more than we would usually expect to stay in a hotel we stay at for an overnight treat BUT this was because we chose a Sunday to stay and the pricing for Friday and Saturday is too much in our opinion.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel reflected the Pugin origin of the building and the furnishing and decoration echoed the Victorian period but generally were in good condition and comfortable. The a la carte menu on our second night was excellent with the lamb course particularly outstanding.

There was no a la carte menu on the Sunday evening, rather we were served traditional Sunday lunch. The choice was uninspiring in great contrast to the next evening when we were offered an excellent range of dishes

The location of the Hotel was very convenient as we were visiting Glyndebourne .We like the ambience and design of the Hotel . It was the fourth time we have stayed at Horsted Place.

The breakfast was a disappointment as we had to order twice . Due to staffing problems in the kitchen we had to wait half an hour before we we served the cooked breakfast. When my wife's cooked breakfast arrived it was overcooked . We would have appreciated a nominal reduction in the bill ( which was prepaid) to reflect this but this was not offered.

Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. Excellent food in the restaurant - one of the best Sunday Roasts that I didn't cook myself! The room was spacious and the bed comfortable - also care was taken to address a check-in request.

Although the restaurant staff were friendly, they may well need a little more training. As a restaurateur myself and with not many tables to look after, the room was constantly left empty and my belief is that a member of staff should be on the floor at all times when possible - how else can you provide good service? There were certainly enough of them! One of our waitresses lent over the whole table to serve us, which again may be a minor point but the restaurant manager disappeared only appearing again to bring us the bill. I'd like to be clear...the young staff were more than willing and just need some guidance.

Lovely period building with lots of history, set in wonderful gardens and grounds. Plenty of parking. Fabulous decor and art blends contemporary design and colour schemes with period features. The finish and quality is of a high standard, with great detailing. It was extremely clean and airy, and all of the staff were very polite and helpful.

The only letdown is the website - it really doesn’t show the hotel off to its best advantage and is difficult to navigate.

Loved everything. Breakfast was very tasty, not the biggest, but delicious and good quality. Evening food was exceptional. Staff were very attentive, polite, well trained and professional. Our room, a junior suite, was beautiful, very comfy beds and lovely bathroom. Hotel had character, charm and history, with beautiful gardens and views across fields and golf course.

Can't think of anything that could be improved.
