Chosen as a base as location good for places we wanted to visit. Warm welcome by Paul who showed us to our room which was good, well decorated, spotlessly clean & the bed was very comfy. The pub bar & patio was a great place to relax and enjoy the food, drink and views across to Hastings and the sea. Service was excellent. Made very welcome by Paul and Ben.

Due to location we were on the side of at times a busy road, so be prepared for road noise.

Beautiful room and en suite bathroom with a huge walk in shower! Staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to visit nearby. We ate in the pub/restaurant on arrival night and food and wine list were amazing, will most definitely be visiting again!

It was a shame they don't offer breakfast but that won't stop us from returning for another stay

The bar and restaurant was very comfortable and cosy, the outdoor area had amazing views towards Eastbourne and Hastings. The rooms were very clean and comfy with excellent beds and bathroom facilities. We stayed there as we were attending a wedding locally and with a separate entrance to the bedrooms ment we did not have to worry what time we got back. Would recommend the White Hart inn to all our friends and family.

The road was quite busy and noisy if you had the windows open.

Super clean and really comfortable room. Well appointed and equipped. Evidence of careful and thorough approach to housekeeping and maintenance. Lovely meal in the restaurant downstairs. Located in pleasant surroundings with convenient parking. Availability of staff via telephone /WhatsApp.

Rather quiet on the days when the pub is not open.

We needed somewhere to stay overnight near Battle and chose this pub because it looked nice and we could also get an evening meal on the premises . Our plans changed and we ended up arriving late and leaving early which meant that we had no direct contact with the staff although we telephoned and were sent clear instructions on how to access our room which was not large but immaculately clean.

The room cost more than we would normally pay for a pub/hotel including breakfast so, although very nice, we thought it was not particularly good value for money. The road outside was pretty busy in the morning.

Room was compact - ok for 1 though so not really a complaint Would have been nice to have had a voucher or something for breakfast at the cafe Wasn’t sure what to do a check out

The view is amazing, the location could not be better. We couldn't get over it. The rooms are on the small side, but well furnished. Particularly want to call out the comfy bed with lovely sheets. It was very hot when we were there so it was great that every room had a fan. There was a little confusion with the rooms and the staff were nice enough to switch one of the chairs for a comfy chair, no fuss, which was massively appreciated.

We were there for three nights, it might have been nice for someone to come in and change the bins/freshen up the room at some point. But that is not a big issue, they were very busy.

Wonderful views from the terrace/garden. Friendly and welcoming staff. Very comfortable beds and good bathroom space and fittings. Bar and Restaurant provided lovely food, great wines selection, cask ales too.

Not suitable for people with mobility issues. Outside wooden steps to access bedrooms.

Just a single night stop over on our way to a classic car show. Greeted by Paul who was extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. The room and facilities were bright, clean and, I would guess, recently refurbished and decorated. Had an evening meal in the restaurant below which was superb and the staff were very attentive and polite. We would recommend both the accommodation and food.

Lovely staff. Excellent food, and really excellent choice of wines , best I have had for a while but at reasonable prices. Views in summer would be amazing. Quiet village location. No breakfast available but 2-3 min walk to local shop/cafe, again really friendly, choice of vegetarian or traditional breakfast butties etc.

Rooms are up an outside metal staircase, fine for us but not anyone with restricted physical ability
