When we arrived, we were able to check in early, which was great. However we were taken to rooms in the annexe, at the back of the building. There were quite a few stairs and a long corridor. My room was fine, was warm and ready. However, the room booked for my sister was not. She was then told she was allocated the wrong room and then taken to a higher floor. Unfortunately, the heating in her room wasn't working, so she was moved to the main building, in a lower room category. I explained that we only came for one night and were hoping to have rooms near each other, so they kindly moved me also. The classic rooms in the main building were actually much nicer (although smaller) than in the annexe. The food in the library/bar was delicious. Every staff member was outstanding, from check-in to check-out, particularly the male staff.
I wish we'd known that the rooms allocated initially were in a different building. That said, if we return, we'd definitely request rooms in the main building.

The location is perfect for those who are visiting the area for the first time.
We arrived an hour earlier than our check in time so we decided to leave our luggage to explore the area then came back after 2 hours but we were told that our is not yet ready. The receptionist explained that a guest checked out late hence the delay. We were then given our keys after waiting for about 15-20mins more and was directed to a wrong place, so we had to go back again to the main reception with our luggage and buggy. Someone came to tell us where our room was then it started raining and the staff member who pointed where our room was (which was outside the hotel) did not even offer to help us and left us to figure out where exactly we are going. She could at least offered to show us where the room was if not help us with our luggage when it was raining.

The location was amazing and it was a beautiful property from the outside. The bar was really well decorated and the staff were very attentive. The size of our room was great and we had a fabulous view of the castle. Would really recommend this hotel!
Whilst the room was a great size with fantastic facilities (great coffee machine, coffee and tea selection) and the bed was very comfy it needed a lick of paint in places. The walls and the skirting were looking a little tired and needed a refresh of paint.

Leaf restaurant. The service was appalling. We were shown to a table and after 15 minutes no one had come over to us so I had to ask if we could have menus. After a further 10 minutes I again had to ask if we could order. The food was lovely and well presented however the plates were not cleared away. About 20 minutes after we had finished our food and drinks we got up and asked if we could pay our bill.....dirty plates still on the table. This was not an isolated case as other guests had to approach staff to ask for menus and order replacement drinks etc.

Great location, very nice bar and restaurant, food was very good. Easy parking on site.
Stayed in the Richard Martin room which had some unique features. No idea why you want a toilet with clear glass doors and wall that is not fully enclosed and so open to the bedroom. Shower door had a gap running down the door (by design) so floor got quite wet first time using the shower as hadn’t realised and no place to put any toiletries if you use the very nice and spacious bath. Could do with a bit of a rework. Nice size bedroom though and bed was comfy.

Excellent location because the hotel was literally across the street from Windsor Castle. Also, there were many great restaurants nearby, including at the hotel itself. The beds were comfortable, and the room was mostly quiet apart from Heathrow jet noise. The hotel was not new, but had lots of charm and character, with wood bannisters on the staircase.
The shower floor in our room was quite slippery, with no hand rails to hold onto. We ended up placing a towel on the shower floor which obviously got soaked, but at least we didn't slip.

Great location, friendly staff. Good size clean room, with a comfortable bed and a powerful shower.
Breakfast is a little chaotic, with a long wait for drinks. Food was not replenished in a timely fashion, resulting in queues or eating half a cooked breakfast and having to return for other items. When we were eventually seated, we were asked for our drinks and egg order. The eggs arrived 10 minutes later, but there were no drinks. When asing a member of staff 5 minutes later, we were told that she was only responsible for tea, and would ask someone. 10 minutes later, after everyone seated after us had received their drinks, we asked again. 5 minutes after this, the coffee arrived, which could only be described as scorching hot aeroplane coffee. We didn't go for breakfast on the second morning of our stay.

The character of the hotel. The parking, The location to the sights.
We didn’t like the en-suite facilities in our room (214) The glass shelf above the sink needs removing as it is dangerous. It wasn’t fixed securely to the wall and it was in the way. The sink was small and the shelf was too close to the sink so you couldn’t get your face over the sink without hitting your head on the shelf. We would have preferred the shower to be enclosed in the bathroom too.

The location was excellent and allowed us to enjoy our time without needing a car. Likewise, your staff were extremely friendly, approachable and did their jobs skilfully.
The breakfast wasn’t quite as good as expected. Also we had a room that was underneath another room where the floorboards were inadequate and we could hear the total footfall of those in the room above to such an extent that it was difficult to sleep (this went on into the early hours). We appreciate it is a very old building but this was difficult to put up with.

The centrality of the hotel is ideal.
The room we were given was horrible. It was supposed to be ‘city view’, but in reality the window was painted over and when opened it (only opened 2 inches) it was facing a shaft with bird feather and dung. We asked for a room change the next morning and they were able to accommodate, if not we would have left the hotel to seek another lodging.
