The breakfasts were amazing with so many choices and delicious food and a highlight for my 18 and 14yr old boys! The pool was lovely and many hours were spent in it. It was not very crowded when we visited in February. On our first night there we were lucky to experience a dance show and special feast at the main restaurant. The staff everywhere in the resort were friendly, polite and helpful. The free shuttles to and from the city center were super useful.

It was hot and humid and the air conditioning in our room (which had twin beds in a loft area) was not effective in cooling the upstairs part even when we kept it blasting the whole day and night.

Not sure where to start - absolutely everything was exceptional. The late check in was an experience - the staff greeted us with welcome drinks. The breakfast is nothing short of amazing - a main, a dessert plus a buffet open for those looking to stock up for the day. Beverages were also amazing and coffees available to-go. The room was incredibly clean and was kept neat twice daily. Every little detail was taken care off (even folding the side of the duvet during the pre-bed clean). Many daily free transfers into Ubud city. Staff was excellent in helping us with everything, like organising the sunrise Mt Batur trekking (and even packing us an extra breakfast). SPA is fantastic as well. We all went for 2hr treatments and it was the best experiences we have ever had - amazing masseuses, facilities, and like everywhere, attention to detail. Last but not least, the upstairs restaurant was incredible - the food, the setting, the service. All 10/10. Just want to say a massive thanks to all the lovely staff that made our stay truly special. Relaxing opportunity right in the middle of the fascinating jungle with pool. All the staff were kind and helpful. Food is delicious at Jungle Fish restaurant.

The only thing I didn’t like is the music in the pool bar. The sound of music blocked my rest in the forest. I couldn't concentrate , even read book by the pool. I couldn't feel the forest. If the music is removed from the pool bar I would book again. The sun loungers near the forest were out of use. It should have been open even if it was raining. Rain type sun loungers can be placed.

It was a nice stay overall but wish it was better! As a boutique hotel we thought it would be intimate, tranquil and private but it was surprisingly very noisy with outside guests permitted to use the main and only hotel pool and restaurant (jungle fish) - beware there are shockingly so many families and loud kids that come in. We avoided the main hotel areas for that reason and stayed in our villa. The spa got quite noisy from being right next to the pool club as well. I would say it’s more pool club than luxury hotel which is a shame.

The villa pool is quite deep so can’t be enjoyed regularly.

Amazing place with a pristine atmosphere of jungles located in a very quiet area. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation in a very spacious rooms and villas. Excellent swimming pool 30 m long attracts all guests all day long. Spa zone is well maintained and designed. Therapists offer a great variety of massage. And the main reason you should stay here is a perfect cuisine provided by the local culinary team. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are so delicious that you’ll remember them forever!

This place is absolutly amazing incredible view swimming pool in the jungle, the suite was amazing, excellent service ( special thanks to Ayu at breakfast who knows what luxury service means, but all personnel were great) congrats to the chef of the jungle fish restaurant all food was great ( tuna tataki excellent) savory and perfect. This place is a dream place

This is probably the nicest hotel i've ever stayed at, and well worth the price. The photos look good, but it was even more beutiful than pictured. Everywhere you go, the estethic is carefully thought out. The rooms were beatiful, and a bit of 60s vibe. The pool and the overlook of the steep valley and greenery is breathtaking, and with a very cool estetich to the furniture. Breakfast was great, the food and cocktails at the jungle fish were alright, but most of all, this is a great refuge in a serene and clean place, and an espace from the hustle and bustle in the rest of the island. We had a private pool room. The pool was a bit cold (it was raining the days we were there), but refreshing.

Nothing, really

Loved the room, surroundings and lovely staff especially Gusti, Ayu, Yatika who were most welcoming and accomodated my requests. This stay really felt like it was back to nature! The food at the upper deck for dinner was great and i loved the apoori at breakfast full of flavour. Each room was huge and so inviting with the layout and decor. Staircase to the loft looked a little dangerous for young kids to navigate, older kids should be fine. The massage was really good one hour wasn’t enough!

The yoga instructor should be switched around a bit

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Chapung Sebali, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of lush rice fields and stunning scenery. We booked the Deluxe Pool Suite with Valley View for four nights, and it felt like pure paradise! Our stay was nothing short of spectacular. The accomodations were luxurious, and every detail was designed for comfort and relaxation. The highlight was undoubtedly the majestic valley view that greeted us each morning — such a beautiful way to start the day! The dining experiences were equally delightful. Each dish we tried was delicious, showcasing local flavours that we just loved. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome; their friendliness and attentiveness truly enhanced our experience. Another perk was the complimentary shuttle service into Ubud centre, which made it easy for us to explore the local culture and vibrant atmosphere. After a day of adventures, we thoroughly enjoyed the superb pool and indulged in relaxing spa treatments, which were the perfect complement to our getaway. Overall, our stay at Hotel Chapung Sebali was a five-star experience, and we can't recommend it highly enough. Its a luxurious retreat that combines stunning natural beauty with top-notch service. We can't wait to return!

One downside to our stay was the numerous staircases throughout the resort. While they added to the rustic charm and provided fantastic views, they could be quite challenging to navigate, especially after a long day of exploring.

Beautiful facility in a fantastic location! Everything here was perfect. Our room was large and gave our family plenty of room. The view from the balcony was amazing. The food at all the restaurants was great, we didn’t feel the need to leave the hotel to eat and still had plenty of variety. The pool was fun and never crowded. The staff was peerless! This is tremendous value and is a perfect home base for exploring the island and doing activities for families.

There was nothing we didn’t like.
