Santosha Place was just perfect for our family. Accommodation in a true Balinese atmosphere, clean rooms, and an extremely kind and accommodating staff. Agus and his team put their best efforts for meeting our expectations and accommodating some last-minute requests. They organised many tours for us, including massage in the comfort of the room. The breakfast was simple and delicious, as was everything else there. My family and I had an amazing time at Santosha.

Although the hotel is not within walking distance of Ubud center, Agus and his team always managed drop-offs and pick-ups at all times. I have also suggested that it would be great if the room were equipped with a little fridge.

A true Balinese sanctuary! Everything about my stay at Santosha Place was absolutely beautiful. It’s a small, family-owned boutique hotel, and they truly make you feel like part of the family. The service was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating – every detail felt personalized with care. I had an in-room massage and facial (seriously, the facial was heavenly), and the food, laundry service, and overall hospitality were all superb. The hotel is tucked away in a peaceful location, just 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud – close enough to enjoy the town, but far enough to relax in total serenity. If you’re into wellness, there are lots of options nearby. I especially recommend the School of Unified Healing, which offers free daily practices, and the Pyramids of Chi, just a 5-minute walk away. The infinity pool across the street offers a gorgeous view – perfect for a lazy day in the sun. And breakfast… oh, how I’ll miss the Balinese porridge I became completely addicted to! I saw a few reviews mentioning the portions were small, but honestly – how much food do you need for breakfast? 😳 Thank you, Santosha Place, for making my time in Bali truly unforgettable. I already miss the tranquility and can’t wait to return. Namaste.

Staff were amazing, location was on point, the traditional temple right next to the accommodation is an impressive work of Balinese architecture. For its value you get such an amazing place to stay before exploring ubud. It’s quiet and in the country side makes you feel like ur a part of the local community. Our expectations were blown away by how convenient the staff made our stay. Even the welcome drinks and breakfast sets were amazing. The view of the rice terraces as you wake up and sip your morning coffee is truly majestic.

Honestly the only downside are the bugs and gekkos but that’s a part of living in the country side by nature. My additional suggestion for the staff, please market more things such as the tour service, room service, and motorbike rentals on booking.com we didn’t expect these services and honestly it would attract more guests to stay at this already amazing place.

I traveled around Bali for 6 weeks and Santosha place was the best accomodation I had. I’ve stayed in room 905 if I correctly remember,second floor,a lot of light,amazing view of the houses/temples around,the sky,nature. The place and the room I had had an amazing energy! I had the best sleep. I loved the beauty of the early mornings and the amazing light of the sunsets. I am grateful for my time here!

Maybe at the beginning I was not happy with the long stairs to take but as I got some help to get my luggage up and down,in the end it was not a real problem.

The staff go above and beyond to make your stay pleasurable. The amenities they offer are fantastic, I especially enjoyed the great massages that are offered in your room. The pool was clean and beautiful and the area had some great restaurants.

Breakfast was ok, very bland but it was free. The walls are a little thin, you'll hear your neighbor if they have a heavy foot, but I think this is typical in Indonesia and not a fault of the hotel. Those god damn roosters are evil, but they offer you ear plugs to help you get some sleep. The only thing they could actually improve on is a more flavorful breakfast!

Santosha Place is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are airy and bright with large floor to ceiling windows looking out to an ample balcony. A shrine, looking out from the balcony is planted out with mature flowering trees and the gardens have ornamental ponds with Koi carp. Meals are taken directly to the room and served on the balcony; heaven! The staff are attentive and couldn't do enough for us, special thanks goes to Komang, Ketut and Ni Putu for really great service that made all the difference to our holiday. Santosha Place is located about an hours walk from Ubud, but don't be put off by the distance; there are walks that take you through stunning jungle and terraces of paddy fields that should not be missed!

If anything, a dressing mirror in the bedroom would be nice, but the rooms were as close to perfect as we could wish.

Amazing experience in Santosha Place. After 3 days in crazy bangkok this was what I needed. Peaceful place and not in the center of ubud. 5 minutes driving. If you want to be far away from the crowds or traffic in ubud and at the same time near the main touristic spots (north of ubud most of them) this is the place to be. They have moto renting in the place and all of the activies you ll want to do. Staff is amazing. 5 Star Place.

Just some tips: -fixing the sliding door its heavy - no kids place (the last morning woke up with the kids crying) -chairs from the balcony are too tall and not confy to sit well Just these small things

Santosha Place was a very well-run hotel. The rooms were directly inside of a temple which was pretty amazing. The food was first rate and not expensive. I loved the way the room's entry door and windows opened up to the temple, but they also allowed anyone walking buy to have a full view of our room (when the drapes weren't pulled shut). However we were on the first floor, so this is probably not an issue for rooms on upper floors. I visited the pool a few times, just to cool off from the heat and humidity. The owners were very nice and courteous to us at all times. They helped to prepare several excursions for us. Very nice considering the crowds of UBUD.

The hotel was a few KM. distant from UBUD, so we had to arrange taxis anytime we wanted to visit the town. There was also a lot of trash around the hotel and it would be great if the community could pull together to clean up the trash on a regular basis.

I loved everything! The location is super peaceful, 10 mins drive from the centre of Ubud, a 10 min walk to Pyramids of Chi, 15 minute walk to the Unified School of Healing that offers free classes all day and a relaxed Day Club with infinity pool and cafe overlooking the jungle opposite, which was everything I came here to experience! The staff were so kind and helpful. The room was modern, spacious and well equipped with lots of traditional touches to the interior design, cleaned every day and 2 fresh bottles of water provided. Great little pool with sun loungers. Excellent value for money. I would have extended my 3 night stay had they not been fully booked!

The serene and tranquil environment, coupled with comfortable beds, beautiful decor, and exceptional cleanliness, made our stay relaxing. The welcoming staff and owners added extra charm to our stay. They made sure that they were available to cater any needs at any time of the day and night. And of course, waking up to a great breakfast to start the day was delightful. This place is truly a gem and highly recommended for anyone seeking a slice of heaven in Ubud. We will definitely be staying at Santosha Place on our next trip to Bali.
