Our room was ugraded to the junior suite and made it very comfortable. Erol and Petra treated us like family friends and it made it a homely stay. Any question was answered and a few extras were offered to us. A good value for money breakfast is served. Free parking next to hotel. We were fortunate to enjoy a white Xmas in Oberammergau

Pity the restaurant is not part of the hotel. Otherwise we were very very satisfied.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff- everyone goes out of their way to accommodate your needs and wishes and to make you feel at home. Very clean facilities and tasty breakfast. Very close to the train station, so it's easy to reach by public transport but it's not noisy at all. Even though there's no 24h reception, late check-ins can be arranged.

A big thank you to Petra and Erol, the hosts that anyone thinking of being in the accommodation business should learn from. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and an easy walk into the main part of town. The food in the restaurant/bar was very good and the friendliness of the local patrons made our stay a highlight of our seven week trip through some of Europe.

The scoreline in the Germany v Scotland Euro match, only in sympathy for the one Scot in the bar we sat with to watch the match.

Petra is the most wonderful host. She made sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed for a relaxing stay. The room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good. The hotel location is perfect for exploring Oberammargau.

We did not have any issues with our stay. I just wished the weather was better when we were there.

Conveniently located on the north exit for Oberammergau, Hotel Garni Ammergauer offers very clean rooms and easy parking at the best prices in this part of Bavaria. I couldn't find a hotel with higher ratings at a better price and I started shopping for a room six months before our stay. If you are lucky, like we were, the friendly owner might be hosting a live band in the beer garden on weekend and you'll have a delightful time listening to rock music with Oberammergau neighbors. We chose this hotel to visit Linderhof, the Ettal Abbey, Garmisch Partenkirchen, the Wallgau and the Eibsee. It worked well for us as our home base for seeing the beauty of this region.

We should have had dinner at the hotel the first night we arrived, but we thought we'd have dinner there on another night. The food available in Oberammergau off-season is pretty limited and we ended up with mediocre pizza in the center of the village. There are good options for food near Ettal, a pleasant evening drive, so you have some great dining choices, but you might have to go beyond what is available in Oberammergau.

This hotel was situated in an ideal position and a 2 minute walk to the railway station which we used to visit Munich. The hotel was directly opposite the bus station for all places in the area you may wish to visit e.g. Schloss Neuschwanstein. The hotel has a very good Turkish menu or for those wishing alternative food, a 5-10 minute walk to other great eating venues. The host Errol and his wife Petra were so helpful in ensuring our stay was up to standard and offered helpful hints. The room was quiet and had a lovely view of the mountains. The breakfast was excellent.

The hotel is in a perfect place, especially with a dog. Green area right next to the building and really close to the centre, also has its own parking place. The staff was really nice and helpful, the room was cozy, i would definitely recommend.

Amazing stay. Great facilities, location can’t be beat, very friendly and helpful owners, good breakfast spread, spotlessly clean, and so comfortable. There are access to balconies, a beautiful view, a short walk to the main area of Oberammergau, a store right across the street for any last minute needs, steps away from the Bahnhof, and even a guest card for free use of bus.

The apartment was exceptionally clean and the heating system was exceptional. The apartment was ideally situated next to the main bus and train station and it was easy to go travelling.

The apartment was on the top floor (4th) and there was no lift. The stairs were somewhat rickety, and it was a nightmare trying to keep the windows free from condensation. Breakfast at the hotel was too overpriced. We are a family of 4 and we had breakfast on the first day only - cereal, fruit and croissants and cups of tea. We were charged Euros 12.50 each, so the total was Euros 50.00. When we came to settle up the owner added another Euros 25.00 to the breakfast bill. We paid Euros 75.00 for one day's breakfast which we felt was extortionate.

This is an old-fashioned hotel. The hosts Errol and Petra welcome you as a welcomed visitor to their home. It was the most pleasant stay we have had after 3 weeks in Germany in numerous locations. The room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated.
