A really great hotel and well situated. We had a lovely room - which looked directly out onto a steep incline; deemed a mountain view. An excellent spread for breakfast. We dined in one evening and had an idyllic meal on the terrace (see below re didn’t like). Plenty of space for parking.

It would have been nice to have been informed about the Bavarian music/BBQ held on the Friday evening - we didn’t know about it and were disappointed to have missed it. During check-in, we weren’t given the ‘Tourist Cards’ offering local discounts. On reading some of the hotel info in our room there was mention of the Tourist Cards - we had to ask at Reception to get ours. On checking out we were charged for a meal (€80+) that was not ours. The signature on the meal receipt was not mine but had been allocated to our room - clearly an internal error which was resolved and the €80+ was then deducted from my bill; pleased I double checked my invoice.

Beautifully perched above the town of Ettal with spectacular views of the Ettal Kloster. Cozy bavarian design with comfy beds and spacious room/bathrooms. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, watching and listening the flock of sheep that grazed behind the hotel. Very relaxing, indeed! The hotel restaurant serves a bountiful breakfast buffet and excellent dinner options. We enjoyed the 'Grill-Evening' on Friday night. Excellent choices of meets, side dishes, salads & deserts. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. Relaxing outdoor lounges and seating area as well as a small playground for kids. One can relax in the sauna after a day of outdoor activities. Free parking on hotel property. We have stayed at the Hotel Blaue Gams every time when in the area and highly recomnend it.

Location is hard to believe - full view of Ettal monastery with the Alps on the backdrop. One of the best views.. Rooms are traditional in overall style, yet modernized with fresh and bathrooms. Great water pressure and temperature, large balcony with seating area, fully equipped minibar - really the only thing potentially missing in the basic rooms is tea/coffee facilities. The breakfast is pretty good, with a few missing things maybe, but, you get a candle lighted on every table while the breakfast and this is sooo charming!

Breakfast is traditional and good for meat lovers, less of fish products like salmon. Otherwise it's more than adequate. Coffee / tea in room with be much welcomed. The restaurant was close this time, but there is decent Italian place down in the village, opposite to monastery.

Exceptionally well located property, overlooking Ettal monastery and surrounding Alpine meadows. Our room (family room) was extra spacious, modern and bright wooden decor - feels fresh and updated, with two separate rooms and huge, covered balcony overlooking the Kloster Ettal - a magical view! Since it was cold outside, we super valued ability to switch on heating and get the room truly warm. The bathroom was excellent, with all the amenities and plush, soft towels in ample amount. Espresso machine and fully stocked minibar completed the picture - really impressive! The dinner was good - nice, small and separate restaurant onsite, cozy, with great choices of food and drinks - we enjoyed. The breakfast next day was good - a pretty standard choice of hot and cold food, nice tea selection, very spacious breakfast room (no much service at the table, neither any a la carte dishes). A separate compliment to restaurant and staff - they speaks good English and actually, were surprisingly many international guests at the hotel. Overall - we liked the place, it also feels much more than a 3 star hotel (except for breakfast, perhaps), as it also has Spa and even room service was available.

The parking is a bit small and tricky due to hotel location - a narrow, steep and curvy road that connects the main road of Ettal to the hotel. You are lucky if no one else is on your way, otherwise it is tough to pass, with the need to carefully maneuver your way up or down..

I recently stayed at Hotel Blaue Gams, and it was a delightful experience. The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly the stunning views. Waking up to the breathtaking scenery was an absolute highlight and set a perfect tone for each day. The rooms were cozy, comfortable, and well-maintained. The decor was tasteful and complemented the natural beauty surrounding the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Everything was fresh and delicious, making for a great start to the day. I also had a very enjoyable dinner experience at the hotel’s restaurant. The menu offered a wonderful selection of dishes, and the quality of the food was impressive. The spa was another highlight of my stay. It was clean, well-equipped, and provided a perfect space to unwind after a day of exploring. The relaxation area, along with the sauna and other amenities, made it an ideal place to recharge. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Blaue Gams and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with beautiful views, comfortable rooms, and great dining experiences.

Lovely location, clean comfortable room. Great restaurant (although pricey) and lovely spa. Lots of other good restaurants in the area and plenty to do.

The bedroom curtains didn't close fully, which was tricky, and there wasn't a light on the balcony, which would have allowed us to sit out there longer. But really these are minor points and I would still recommend this hotel to anyone.

Unlike other places where the dogs are allowed, this hotel really welcomes pets. There was a dog bed and towel in our room. And water and food too. We were more than happy with this arrangement. Not only the our dog but also for us, it was an excellent stay. There is a wellness room with 3 different sauna and a very good restaurant. The breakfast was included for the price and had everything you need to start a day. If you travel your puppy highly recommended. We will definitely come back when we will be there next time.

There is nothing I disliked but my husband said that he preferred wooden floors to carpet.

Perfect looks out of the window, very comfy beds and pillows, cozy room and really nice personnel at the reception, that speaks really good in English. Thank you for a stay it's so far the best in this trip. Lady offered to go check out spa zone, as it's open until 9.30pm, but we were too exhausted. Breakfast room looks really good and I think that breakfast is great as well

Traditionally furnished room, very comfortable, nice balcony with chairs and table. The evening meal in the hotel's Stuberl was superb, tasty traditional specialities. The waiter very friendly and helpful! Lovely gardens with wonderful view over Ettal monastery which is only a short walk away (down a stepped private path from the hotel) and well worth a visit.

Located on the hillside in beautiful Ettal overlooking the Ettal Cloister and the valley. My balcony faced outward and I opened my balcony door at night for the mountain air and the sound of rushing water falls. It's like living in a fairy tail. The hotel itself is rustic Bavarian/Alpen style that is gorgeous inside and out. The breakfast was much more than expected. The food was delicious and well prepared and lots of it.
