It was a comfortable hotel in a really nice location. Most of the staff was superb and they set us up with some nice lunch packages. The breakfast was nice with some good options on the healthy side and the sweet side. The location was good to do some hiking as well. The room was spacy and comfortable.

Being on the street side there was some traffic noise, but I could imagine this would be more of an issue in summer, as I don't think there is airco. The gym is very basic, so best to go outside for sports.

Hotel situated at small town Ettal, just besides Ettal Abbey. You may pay the visit to the Abbey as lot as your like. Design like a castle, but inside more like a family with many lovely furnishings. Swimming pool very good, garden lovely. Staffs very nice and easy to communicate, supportive to guest. Breakfast also very nice and rich.

No minibar in the room which is standard providing for 4 star hotel. Associated restaurant staffs (evening) not so friendly to us with cold face, perhaps we are from Asia and cannot speak German language, although dinner quality is OK but whole feeling is not good.

Very clean room. The breakfast was very delicious with a big selection. I had a single room, very cozy and comfortable bed. Free WiFi was good and free car parking included. The Spa was nice.

I was there during July period, and it was hot and my room should have either have an air conditioning system or at least a ventilation system (fan). My room was on the very top floor. The TV was kind of small and sometimes had a bad reception for TV stations.

We very much enjoyed the room & the breakfast (a very hearty breakfast). The spa including the pool, the sauna, and the massage were appreciated after a long 2 weeks of travel, hiking, and playing tourist. The proximity to the Ettal monastery and basilica (both located across the street) were the primary reason for staying at the Hotel Klosterhotel Ludwig der Bayer, so an outstanding hotel made the visit much more enjoyable.

Beautiful setting, stunning architecture, amazing staff and very nice breakfast. Evening dinner was exceptional.

Bed, bedding and pillows are not comfortable at all. No air conditioning or airflow control in room. Had to leave windows open on a cold damp night to cool the room. Would recommend something like a Dyson air machine for future guests for temperature and airflow.

Provide slippers in the room, it would be nice to turn off the electricity as you go out from the room to be more environmentally friendly, as the current setup you can leave everything on while you are out

Spa facilities and staff all excellent. A beautiful town and we were lucky enough to see a classical concert just across the road. A lovely restaurant with great food and value for money. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. One particular tall dark haired girl who was working at breakfast was excellent. She was attentive to everyone.

Very comfortable and large rooms, impeccable cleanliness, swimming pool, breakfast. The decor and the atmosphere in the hotel reflect the Bavarian spirit very well.

the staff from the restaurant and from the breakfast area had an attitude as if I was an uninvited guest staying in their house for free. at the restaurant they forgot our order and when we asked, we were told that we didn't order without any excuse. in the immediate proximity of the hotel there is now a construction site that wakes you up early in the morning, I understand that it is not the hotel's fault, but the morning's sleep was spoiled

Spa and breakfast, top class.

A large group of young people using the Spa were very loud and untidy leaving their used towels lying all over the place after leaving the Spa.

The room was very well organized and appointed. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The location was great!! I thought the breakfast had a fine variety of food. The restaurant in the hotel was beautiful and the food was outstanding. I will return.

The lock on my door was not working and there was a lot of traffic walking past the room.
