Beautiful hotel - located right next to the river. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice view from the rooms and the breakfast restaurant. We really loved the facilities - they had a nice pool and also a dedicated large playroom for the kids. RIght opposite the hotel was a small playground for the kids. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Would be good to add a kettle with tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. Also, while parking was available opposite the hotel, it was full on one of the days so we had to park a little distance away.

I would highly recommend Parkhotel Sonnenhof. The staff is friendly and helpful. Upon checking in our room was upgraded to a suite. This room was beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is clean and spacious with thoughtful features that make you feel like you are staying in a nice house. For example, the shutters on the windows and doors which block out all light made the room very dark for sleeping. There was also a common living room where my wife and I played a board game and had a drink. The location is walking distance to the local town square in Oberammergau and within a 30 minute drive to Garmisch. I would recommend the hotel restaurant, the service and the food was very good and at a reasonable price. Reservations are recommended since they are not open every night. One of the best features of the hotel is the pool and spa. The last night of our stay we used the pool and spa and regretted not checking it out earlier because it is a full featured European spa with cold bath, shower, steam room and sauna. It was wonderful!

We absolutely loved our stay! Our room was not outdated plus there was a big balcony with stunning views. The breakfast was good. The little town itself is very beautiful and the hotel is near to the center so you can walk everywhere and the walks are very pretty. Kids can enjoy a little indoor pool, we were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves - great timing. I can imagine that it can be crowded when several families are using it at the same time. Parking is outside and the location is great for discovering Bavaria. The staff is also very helpful.

Driving from Italy to Sweden we needed a break with the kids age 3 and 7. Found this hotel and couldn’t be more happy. Great location, surrounded by magic nature, mountains and a short walk to restaurants and small shops in the little village. Nice play room for kids indoor and outside of the hotel. Lounge areas to relax and play cards and have a drink. We will be back for hiking and MTB !

Beds are a bit hard.

We stayed one night on our way to Italy. The staff was very kind, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was very good, the room was okay. The wellness area was amazing. There was EV charging available.

There was a conventional car blocking one of the two EV charging stations. This is rude and should not happen. There was no door between the two rooms of our junior apartment, so it was difficult to put kids to sleep quick.

The swimming pool / spa area is lovely, we really enjoyed whilst it was pouring rain outside. Wonderful view from the balcony of the room and very good bathroom. Breakfast is very good with wide variety of choice. Location if good a few minutes from the city.

It would be worth investing in better bedding. Mattress and pillows were too soft, we did not sleep well.

In general it is very good hotel, it would be good if it will be electrical kettle in the room.

There wasn’t a fridge in the room or a kettle or slippers which, considering the standard, I expected to have. We we were provider with a very small portable fridge which was kind of noisy.

The lady on reception was super friendly ,the room had a lovely balcony and view .

Restaurant was closed , breakfast was average ,staff not friendly or helpful when you wanted to sit outside ,we had to lay our own table ,they seemed stressed even though it was not that busy 😕 looked good on the pictures but actually not that great .

Breakfast was excellent and offered many options. Dining room exceptionally clean, organized and comfortable. The proximity to town was perfect, just a few minutes walk across the River and there! Just adjacent to the hotel is a small playground where we enjoyed playing table tennis with our grandson while the younger child played on the play equipment (for the younger set). The rooms were comfortable and in the traditional Bavarian style. We enjoyed having a nice balcony to sit and enjoy the wonderful view.

The shower in our bathroom was not draining properly and caused us to call for service twice. Parking was somewhat limited; but we always managed to find a spot.
