One of the nicest places my family has stayed at in the US! My family of five (with three teens) stayed in the bright 2-bedroom cottage for five nights, which was so charming. We appreciated the tasteful, eclectic French themed décor which made the cottage feel homey and chic. There was plenty of space to spread out and to store & organize our belongings. The highlight was super comfy beds, with fluffy duvets, crisp sheets and proper pillows. We slept very well. The cottage is also very well appointed with a kitchen/lounge/dining area downstairs and bedrooms and bathroom upstairs (loved the clawfoot tub/shower and fluffy towels). Beautiful outdoor area (although weather didn't allow us to use it). My husband and I enjoyed the yummy crepes and coffee breakfast most days, which was convenient and delicious. Location is easy walking distance to downtown. We didn't really use the large screen tvs (3 in total - one in the lounge area and one in each bedroom), but wanted to point these out!

Parking lot was a little bit challenging if you have a larger car like we did (minivan), however street parking is also an option (if available) and very convenient. For the tea drinkers, would be great to provide some tea in the room (in addition to the Peets coffee), free of charge. Room description included a sofa bed in the living room, however there wasn't one which was a little disappointing.

I first saw this petite boutique hotel for a work meeting in 2007. I have always wanted to go back and stay, and I finally got the chance. I adore The Metro's quirky, francophile decor and vision. This place is for those who love wit, Paris Flea Market decor, and whimsy. It is small and intimate--you may hear your neighbors depending on the room. But from my experience, my neighbors were happy. The staff is friendly and kind. The morning crepes were perfect. I look forward to returning.

My experience had no downsides.

I went there with two girlfriends to celebrate my 80th birthday. We loved the location because we could walk to everything downtown... We loved the little Turkish restaurant only a block away. We all three loved the funkiness and the charm of each room and each area in the hotel and the petanque court. We didn't use the bikes but we were glad they were there. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the Mexican women that were making the crepes...so sweet.

The gate was having a lot of trouble getting fixed so that it would stay closed. Our shower flooded the bathroom and we were afraid it would go into the bedroom. So Lori didn't get to wash her hair. Room 180.

Room had a cute little patio area. Nespresso machine in the room.

I didn't like that you had to pay for your coffee pods in the room. They charge for pretty much everything in the room. The breakfast is extra but i didn't read that anywhere when booking but i could have overlooked it. The breakfast was definitely worth the $9.00 extra for me but don't expect a lot of options for the crepes. It is strawberries, bananas cut up and a jar of Nutella. Still a great experience though.

This is more than a hotel, it is an experience. The moment you step inside you leave the rolling California hills and are transported to an idealized French escape only found in cinema. Your romanticized stay is then enhanced by the fresh morning crepes, pastries, and drip coffee. Simply put, it is rare to find places like this anymore, and I will certainly be returning every time I am in the area.

The building is older and therefore the walls are thin, which is acceptable and expected. But let’s just say my wife and I could fully hear a woman that was clearly, having the best morning of her life, if you catch my drift. But hey, good for her! It is a romantic hotel!

The Metro is very eclectic in a great way. The decor is fun and whimsical. The breakfast crepes were delicious. The bathroom in our room was huge and had a nice shower. The grounds were nice with tables for outside eating. The air stream trailers my adult children stayed in had great outdoor areas that were semi private.

Our room was quite small. Just enough room to get around the queen bed. The bed is way too tall. They provided step stools that were tiny and plastic. I was afraid it would break when I stepped on it and even with the step stool it was hard to get in and out for me. I’m 5’4”. The hair dryer in the bathroom was a joke. It was tiny and barely put out any air. It seemed more like a child’s toy than a real hair dryer. The air stream trailers my adult children stayed in did not have the cute decor of the ones on the website and were smaller than they looked in the pictures.

This was the fifth visit to the Metro. We were in our favorite room which was a perfect size and the cleanliness was exceptional. The light from the bedroom windows added a an extra bonus. The room was quiet so we were able to sleep uninterrupted. The extras in the bathroom made our visit easier because we didn’t need to think about packing shampoo, lotion, hair drier etc. The Metro staff was accommodating, friendly, helpful and kept our room spotless. They work with smiles and create a comfortable atmosphere. Towels and bedding smelled fresh and we feel pampered having them changed daily. The new charge for breakfast doesn’t matter as the crepes are delicious and made fresh. The fresh fruit is kept full. Tea and coffee with the crepes and breads created a relaxing, positive happy start to our day. THANK YOU Metro

Everything is super cute and has so much character. The staff is all so wonderful and helpful, and we loved the wine tasting and crepe station! I also loved being able to take a bath in the cute tub and that every type of soap and lotion was available in generous bottles.

We were next to the kitchen so we did hear everyone walking around and closing and slamming cabinets and doors around 6:30/7am and we heard every step the people upstairs took so we weren’t able to sleep in very much, but aside from that everything was great.

Life changing experience! METRO hotel theme is all about "Learning French" with a school blackboard above the bed, framed pages of French Vocabulary teaching book (1950?). Excellent mattress, better than our own at home. TV, which we decided not to have at home, and which was such an attraction for me. It took us a moment to understand a French proverb written in chalk on tha blackboard. We almost were in France. We loved it!

We loved it all.

We loved the bright and spacious family suite. The vintage decor and theme were fun. In the morning we had crepes and drip coffee for breakfast. There were twin beds for the kids and a king size bed in a separate space. Our room had a clawfoot tub! The location in Petaluma was convenient and onsite parking was free. This has been the favorite hotel on our trip to CA. There are airstream campers to stay in as well as bike rentals. The staff were friendly and helpful. We recommend!
