The Carriage House is nicely located in the woods and gives you the a warm forest feeling. The cabin is spacious for 2 persons. The cabin has a fridge, microwave, coffee machine and water cooker. As cutlery, bowls and glasses were missing, the staff was friendly to bring them. We could even borrow wine glasses from the restaurant to enjoy a nice glass of wine at the porch. The location is perfect for hiking at Johnston Canyon and other locations within 30 min drive.

The price for the cabins is at the high end. And for that price a bit more could have offered, e.g. vouchers for the bistro.

The cabin was so cozy! We stayed for 6 nights and I easily could've stayed longer. It was so nice to be surrounded by nature and ground squirrels. We had a mountain view. It was quiet. The bed was comfy, the shower was good. Honestly nothing to complain about! Staff was friendly and helpful. We asked for plates, cutlery and mugs and got them right away. We ate at the restaurant and it was really good. They also have a barbecue area, which we also used. Johnston Canyon is a good central location to visit Banff national park.

It didn't bother me personally, but in cabin 17A there is no cupboard for your clothes. So keep in mind that in the smaller cabins you'll have to leave everything in your luggage during your stay.

The location is amazing. Literally at the trail head of the Canyon. We had a two bedroom cabin and we were overlooking the river, it was stunning. The breakfast at the restaurant was brilliant. Wifi was decent compared considering the remote location and compared to some of the rest of the area. Good coffee at the on site shop. Nice little souvenir shop. Comfortable beds and big bathroom.

Bugs! Even though we kept the doors and windows shut there were bugs everywhere, especially the separate toilet room. Nothing major but lots of midges and we did get bitten! The cabin was clean when we arrived everywhere but the floor. It had clearly been swept but not mopped. We put our toddler down for 5 minutes to play and ended up having to give him a bath because he was so filthy! Also ruined a couple of pairs of socks. Considering the breakfast was so great at the restaurant, the dinner was average to poor, we were really disappointed. Didn’t have lunch so can’t comment on that. The restaurant and shop don’t appear to have air con and get very warm on a sunny day.

We chose this property because we needed to be at the Stanley Glacier Trailhead at 7:30 a.m. and this was the closest place we could stay. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't open for breakfast before we had to leave, but they had a refrigerator and we were able to get yogurt and granola at a grocery store in Banff that we could eat in the morning. Johnston Canyon is a very crowded tourist attraction--we walked there in late afternoon before eating dinner and the bridge at the lower falls was still very full of people.

As I recall, there wasn't a lot of room in the bathroom to set down things like toothbrushes, etc. The cabins are cozy and private, but there is no air conditioning, and since the day had been hot, it took some time with all windows open and a fan on to cool it down.

We stayed in Cabin 4, one of the two bedroom cabins, which was perfect for our needs. However, it looked over the parking lot - with mountains in the distance. Most of the cabins were nestled in the woods, but I don't know their capacity. The cabin was rustic, but comfortable and had everything we needed. The gas fireplace was very welcome first thing in the morning. It had an open fire as well, with wood supplied, but we didn't use that. There was a restaurant on site, but we didn't eat there, but the store had great muffins, coffee and a small selection of ice creams. The proximity to the hike to the waterfall was a huge plus. We didn't realize when we booked it that Johnson Canyon was a "must see" in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Our cabin was one of the few that looked over the parking lot.

We loved the cozy cabin. The decor was really quaint and rustic and we loved the two fire places. The location is amazing. Right at the start of the Johnston canyon trail which is fantastic. You look out of the window of your cabin, see that it isn’t too busy and off you go! The restaurant is great too. Good food and very friendly staff. We loved to see all the animals around the cabin. A very friendly fox, chipmunks, squirrels etc. Amazing stay.

I think the kitchen could do with some more utensils, plates and mugs/glasses.

Check in at the reception area was very smooth and we enjoyed the lovely little red cabin we stayed in. The space in the room was a little tighter than I expected but it included more amenities than I expected like an in room fridge, coffee maker and tv. The location is the most amazing thing about staying here. We walked along Johnston Canyon in the evening and it was blissfully empty! I've never had a peaceful nature walk here before now because it is such a busy area and I enjoyed the the experience. An onsite coffee shop and restaurant are available for meals.

I would have appreciated a room with a better view than of the parking lot behind us considering we were in a nature setting. The restaurant dinner menu was just okay but we enjoyed a great breakfast at the restaurant and the serving staff was friendly.

Great value for the area, and convenient access to Johnston Canyon trails, which I actually didn't even know about when booking. I was just looking for something halfway between Banff and Lake Louise, and this was perfect. Overall it's a very expensive area, so to have a cabin with 3 beds so well located at the price I paid was great value.

Cabin was a little small, but I don't think much could be done about that, and again for the price it's still a great value.

Very cozy, nice location, perfect to visit the Canyon! Staff is very friendly. We checked-in around 4PM, they recommended us to visit the Canyon around 7PM and not the next morning and OMG the Lady was soooo right! We managed to do a great hike with very few people around, enjoying the golden hours around sunset when we started the Canyon hike at 18:40. And the next morning, around 8AM the Canyon was already crowded :D so thanks a lot again for the tipp :) ;). Our cabin was very clean; cozy, great :)

So the cabins and bungalows were cute. I guess they've been there awhile so the theme is "old fashion".....meaning there are phone booths around, old cars, old gas station pump, boat, etc. Cute! The location was literally beside the Johnson Canyon trail so that was nice. Only got a takeout soup at the restaurant and some ice cream and both those were good and I think just as expensive as everything else in Canada. Had a refrigerator in room which we utilized and also a coffee maker. The bear claw tub was nice and was utilized everyday after hiking. there was a fireplace but we never could get the wood to light and stay lit so in essence it was useless.

What I didn't like was that there was absolutely no place to put your clothes.....no dresser, or closet. I didn't think they utilized the space in the cabin well. I know they were trying to keep the "old fashion " theme but for example we had a TV on a console and even in the console there were no drawers or shelves to put anything. We ended laying out our clothes on the floor in piles. They did have some hooks to hang a few things. The wood in the fire place would never stay lit so the FP was useless to us. They need to put a fire starter in there and one of those fire starter wood blocks or something. Since they have this great bear claw tub they should include in the toiletries some bubble bath.
