Location is absolutely fantastic and parking up was great even if you didn't get an allocated spot there's a pay and display right next door

Nothing to do with the room but on arrival you had to go to a pub next door to collect our keys which wasn't a problem either but we had to write our bank card details on little piece of paper and wasn't sure whether it was put in a safe place and destroyed after our stay. Other than that all went smoothly And staff was great

Liked it was near the town,shops and the park we stayed for 3 nights and did not have to move the car. The staff was very friendly, the housekeeper was brilliant and went above and beyond.

Place could do with a bit of TLC. The first night was a bit of a nightmare with the lights coming into the room from outside and the noise from the cellar (well, that's where I think it's coming from). The other nights were fine, got used to the noise, and the lights. The shower was rubbish and had to hold it in the end. It also could do with a mat as the bath was very slippy. Had trouble with the tv, but the housekeeper was there to sort it out for us. Would come back as it was value for money.

Clean, modern rooms. Bar staff very friendly and helpful on arrival. Good location to walk into town and excellent value for money.

Was asked by a member of the bar staff to write credit card details on a piece of paper to leave at the bar in the event of any damages Was offered alternative of £25 refundable on check out once the room had been checked. (I had read this on the reviews though so knew what to expect) Check out was by 10.30 but pub doesn’t open until 12 to get refund, but we were lucky to catch someone opening up. We booked 3 rooms and 2 of them had dirty coffee cups, the bathroom door didn’t open from the inside in one of the rooms.

The location is great. The pub next door, where you collect your keys from, has a great selection and the staff are very friendly. Just to note, they do not do food. There is an Aldi literally over the road, so if you need anything, it's on the doorstep. Loved the fridge in the room. We removed the shelf and could fit a lot more in, so we had a couple of cheeky drinks in the room. There are lots of places to eat in Retford.

Nothing, really. Just note that they have 10 or 11 rooms and 6 parking spaces.

Clean and comfortable room - we opted for the cheapest, good value for money, and perfect for one or two nights, probably want one of the larger ones if staying longer. Unstaffed, so pick up for keys is from pub next door . Very central for the town - shops and eating places within 10 minutes walk, lovely park nearby and the canal opposite (as is the small theatre)

My only negative comment would be the french windows (railings outside, no balcony) - as you're on first floor and the only window coverings are the roman blinds, I did feel a little "on show" to passers by when the light was on - and as it was teeming with rain for our stay, we needed it on to read etc. Didn't really want to pull the blinds mid afternoon. Possibly some nets/voile curtains would be good?

Breakfast was not included in my room price. There was a kettle and coffee in the room

I was not prepared to have to go up the steep flight of stairs without a lift. It was awful to get my suitcase up to the room, and the stairs should have been in the description. There was a sticker by the sink of caution for the hot temperature of the tap, and the water in the shower was scalding hot and could not be adjusted and needed a warning sign as well.

Great location, comfy bed and warm room. Secure access to the building.

1. On the first night there was a knocking noise (someone using a hammer) from below my room. the noise went on until !0.30om, disturbing my sleep after a long day travelling. 2. TV sometimes not turned on using the remote control. Had to turn it off at the plug to restart it. Also the aerial connection into the wall socket was loose. 3. Bathroom sink did not drain properly and left a bad drain smell.

Nice clean room with large shower , small fridge , comfortable bed and great value

Our room , No.5 was over the pub and there was a constant humming 24/7 from below us . It did affect my sleep and a light sleeper may have some trouble getting too sleep. Might be fridges,air con or other pump machinery. We were made aware by management on booking that we could rebook one of the rooms on the quieter side rooms 6-10 but were too late and most were already taken. I didn’t score the room lower in any case but I had noticed that when the hotel won “ 4 in a bed “ , the occupant of our room N0.5 was supplied with a mask and earplugs which we weren’t . I would stay there again though but in another room if available.

Exceptionally clean. Stayed in a budget double. Room was small but had everything in you needed. Lovely clean ensuite with big fluffy towels. Bedding crisp and white. Easy check in at the pub next door, and managed to get a car parking space too! A tip if you need a taxi - make sure you book in advance. Bar staff warned us thankfully, so passing on their tip! Can also use Uber.

it was close to the town center and next to a real ale pub room was a good size bed comfortable

heated towel rail was hanging off also you check in a the pub and I was asked to write my card details on a form incase of damage never had to do that before anywhere and don't feel its a same secure way of storing my card details in a pub so was not happy about that if I'd had know this before I would not have booked
