*This was a resort with good facilities as well as peaceful and beautiful environment away from tourist crowd. It was idea for relax and refreshment. *Room was spacious, modern, spotless clean, very quiet and comfortable, with breathtaking ocean view. Bathroom was large with powered shower. *Breakfast was tasty with a lot of choices. Dinner was very delicious and good in quality. *Hotel staff were very nice and initiative especially the Nepalese staff of reception counter and restaurants. I was ill during my stay. However, it was lucky that two of the restaurant staff of Garden Area, initiatively gave their helping hand when I was in need. They were so caring and thoughtful. They even prepare suitable food for me to take in my room. Great thanks to the help of the two male staff, one Nepalese (senior restaurant staff) and one Bengali. * We have memorable stay here.

Extremely clean room. We loved the design. Everything looked really new when we were there. The balcony was gorgeous with superior sea view. The breakfast and dinner were great. The staff even offered different set dinner for us when they knew that we stayed there for 2 nights. Free parking was included and the hot spring was nice. We could reserve family room for the hot spring. The room was spacious and tidy. There was a beach nearby. Shutter bus service was provided. The overall experience was terrific. We would definitely highly recommend this hotel to others.

No. Everything was great.

Large, elongated resort with several two-storey apartment buildings, two hotels, indoor swimming pools (sandy beach outside the resort) and several restaurants on an island connected to the mainland by a bridge, 45 minutes by bus from Nagasaki Main Station (free shuttle bus and public bus (line 30) for 610 yen, both several times a day), or about 30 minutes by car. Airport shuttle from Nagasaki Main Station to Nagasaki Airport every 20 minutes for 1200 yen (cab very expensive!). The resort is geared towards families with children and dog owners. Very quiet, but a little out of the way. You can explore the island on free bicycles. We had a nice spacious room in one of the apartment buildings (first floor) with a large terrace right by the sea, a large bathroom, very comfortable European-style beds, two Japanese-style futon sofas set into the floor in front of the TV and a desk. We had booked breakfast included (very good buffet), but not half board (dinner), which was a mistake as the only "a la carte" restaurant was at the very end of the resort 1.5 km away and you may not get a table reserved for the (very rich) Japanese 5-course menu (25 EUR per person) in the restaurant near the apartment without advance reservation. The buffet dinner in the nearby hotel costs 50 EUR per person, and it is a long way to Nagasaki for dinner! Very friendly staff, almost exclusively Japanese guests, therefore sometimes communication problems.

It's a pity that the "a la carte" restaurant wasn't nearer, because a 5-course menu with raw fish, seafood and different types of meat every day is a bit too much!

A little bit out of Nagasaki which made it very quiet with free parking on the grounds. The private onsen you can book through the spa was very nice and clean, and had a nice ambience to it. Staff were extremely kind and welcoming, and happy to help with anything. Ocean view was nice aside from the industrial shipping section across the water but overall good and very peaceful!

Good value for money however the parking area and section to the hotel is all gravel and pebbles which makes it a bit difficult to roll luggage through. It being a resort means that the facilities are spread out across the island so it’s much more convenient with a car. However, you can utilise the free bikes they provide which is excellent. Also, google and Apple Maps doesn’t quite take you to the front desk location, it takes you to the spa down the road so when you’re driving up, make sure to park around the Minato hotel where you see a large white tipi structure as that’s the front desk area.

What a perfect little slice of outdoor heaven in Nagasaki! From the moment we arrived, staff was nothing but over-the-top helpful. They bent over backward for the entirety of our stay to make sure our family was comfortable and felt taken care of - from hand-delivering towels, calling us transit, even packaging up a special breakfast treat for our daughter to-go. The property was very well-maintained, with the bikes and play area being huge draws for our young family. The Arkland Spa was a great place to play in the water (the water temperature was excellent, even during winter) and we truly loved the Island Lumina experience. We enjoyed western breakfast at The Terrace very much and would recommend it over the Japanese option for both breakfast and dinner.

We booked a room for 4 guests, so we assumed the extra futon beds folded in the room were included in the price. The beds were plenty big for us and our girls, so it wasn't a problem, but considering the futons weren't part of our room rate, we would've appreciated them being left out of the room so we could utilize the built-in closet instead. They took up a lot of room and we didn't have anywhere to store clothes during our stay.

Everything!

The reception staff provided limited answers to my questions and could have better explained unique aspects of the hotel, such as the bike culture (where guests swap bikes upon stopping, taking the nearest one, and the policy of not leaving items in the basket to avoid them being taken), and the Minato Spa (where guests mainly wear pajamas and relax on rocks, but the staff failed to provide any explanation or offer pajamas for use).

An incredible place—I regret that we stayed here for only one night. I would happily come back for a week or two. This hotel is perfect for a family getaway. There are several hot springs, including private ones where the whole family can relax together. Plenty of cozy spots for rest and relaxation, as well as play areas for kids. Don’t make the same mistake we did—stay for more than just one night!

It is a resort with a large footprint on a small island near Nagasaki. A lot of local families vacation there. The Japanese breakfast was great. A lot of varieties to choose from. Since we go there in November, it is kind of windy but I think in the summertime, it will be lovely.

I hope the hotel will give us better instructions on the exact location we need to park and check-in. The resort has multiple hotels and sites and they are quite far away from each other. It is a 40 mins drive from Nagasaki city center. It is good or bad depend on your itinerary

Thanks for the staff who can speak Mandarin. She introduced everything well. We didn’t use the facility but enjoyed the serenity of the island very much. I also enjoyed the Japanese-style breakfast very much. Room space was very satisfactory. I like the design of the bathroom. The water pressure was very good!

I was a little surprised there were no elevators to go up to the guest rooms on the 2nd floor. The staff was very kind to help us move one of the luggage. If you can, you should ask for the room on the first floor. Also, we were waken up in the early morning because of the sudden heavy rain and the roof was very loud.

This resort is great for families. There are many activities like the sports hall where you can play many different sports, free bicycles to cycle around the island or on the pavement beside the sea. 3 different onsen areas, albeit being in different locations and u need to take the hotel’s shuttle bus or take a slow walk. If u dun mind paying, there is ATV etc too.

Property is quite old. The illumination show u have to take the hotel shuttle bus. We drove there but were told that we cannot park there.
