The Fav Lux Nagasaki was quite easy to get to, though we had a hire car. Even by tram/street car the stop was not far away though. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing, especially Anna. We had a drink downstairs each night just so we could practice our Japanese and she practised English. Anna even brought in some Anime stickers and cards for our almost teenagers, and perhaps also one anime adult fan, haha. The rooms were nice and clean, had 4 beds so we could spread out and the facilities were great. First time we brought back food to eat in the room. Could also watch movies and had language options on the TV so made it very easy to use. Will stay here again.

FABULOUS, clean and so comfortable. Our room was well equipped with a laundry and kitchenette. The location is just around the corner from Glover Garden, Oura Cathedral and the fun Glover Street with souvenir shops and yummy local treats (Castella Cakes). Easy walk to Chinatown. Easy walk to the Bus Stop and Tram Stops to travel to other areas of Nagasaki. The only minus is the paid parking is limited and expensive (and if you look up, it is actually under a cemetary). The area surrounding the Hotel is quiet and dark at night with limited restaurant/dining options.

Paid Parking is very limited and expensive.

New, very clean rooms thoughtfully laid out with comfortable beds and decent pillows (for a hotel). Everything we needed in the kitchenette for our party of 5, except for a peeler which would hav been a nice-to-have. Layout of bathroom, which is a normal Japanese layout of separating toilet and shower, helped manage bathroom time for all of us. Even the nightwear was super comfy. When we found the air a little dry, lo and behold... I found a humidifier! We walked around the area on our last morning there, and the luggage storage was easy to figure out and FREE! Close to Oura Tenshudo (Oura Cathedral) tram stop.

Not the hotel's fault - my two teenagers on the top bunks (they loved their own space) found it stuffy and hot, so we turned off the air con heating at night (left the fan running) and used the humidifier which made their quality of sleep significantly better. Location is good, but a little quiet at night. Takes a transfer on the tram to get home from most places but if mainly walking (very possible), no problems. We were travelling with my parents, so took the tram to minimise the walking.

Rooms were huge by Japan standard. Very new, modern, clean and comfortable.

I am disappointed I did not experience the friendly service by the staff that many reviewers did. My check-in lady was so grumpy. When I enquired about the parking situation (which I did not reserve in advance), she said "No you cannot park there tonight, move your car now" without proposing a suggestion. I had to ask so where else can I park before she took out a sheet with the nearby parking. And when I asked if I can book the parking for the following day, she said, "you have to pay 2000Y now" It really ruined my otherwise great experience in this hotel

If you can splurge, treat yourself and stay in the 'Suite with Sauna.' It is perhaps my favorite hotel room ever. (And I've stayed in a lot of different hotels.) The wet room alone, which includes a large tub, private sauna, shower, cold plunge, and terrace, was truly awe inducing. But on top of that, the room was extremely spacious with a sleek, modern design. It came with very comfortable beds, a drop-down movie/tv screen with projector, a kitchen, and even a washing machine! It was such a wonderful experience for our family. The hotel staff is also friendly and helpful. I forgot an item in the room, and they were kind enough to return it by mail.

Nothing. It was a perfect stay.

We loved the design choices and layout of the room. The view on the mountain was lovely. Beds and pillows comfortable. The hotel is well located, close to everything and yet in a calmer neighbourhood. We felt on vacation in a place we could relax. Netflix was available if needed. They have water refill and a self-lock luggage storage if you need for a few hours before leaving after check-out or before check-in. We regret not booking for breakfast before, their coffee was on point!

Wifi was weak in our room. We couldn’t use Yamato to transfer our luggages from Fukuoka to Nagasaki because they don’t have storage space for if your luggage arrives before you and their reception counter seems limited to check-in/out times mostly. They should also have clear instructions in English for their in-room laundry machine. We didn’t know our water tap was turned off. Since it doesn’t dry perfectly well, it took us a while figuring out how to program drying mode only.

The room was modern and the bathroom and shower were very good, bed comfortable and it was great to use the washing machine. The coffee shop in the lobby made good coffee. Location was a bit out but it was a nice walk in to the harbour area and not far from Glover Gardens which was wonderful to go to. The bus stop and street car stop is very close by and easy to get to JR station with using that. Staff were friendly and tried to help despite the language barrier, not much English is spoken.

Although the coffee was good the bakery was not well stocked. We didn't bother with the breakfast.

I didn't have breakfast but ate light meals during the day. The bagel with chicken teriyaki, tiramisu etc were very good. Coffee was excellent. Location is a bit further out from the station- about 25 mins walk but hotel is near tram station. You have to change tram at Chinatown if you are going to the Peace Park and Nagasaki station. There is 7 Eleven where the tram station is and Family Mart next to Crown Plaza. Short walk to the harbour front.

It is a bit dark around the area at night and a bit of a walk to shopping centres

The room was fantastic and spacious, beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower was also very good

I didn't like that the breakfast was not very substantial and I was asked to pay to have a different type of milk for my complementary coffee, which I found very tight after we paid for an expensive hotel. most of the staff were a very pleasant, I couldn't quite tell if it was a breakdown in English or if they were just shy, but a couple came across as rude and abrupt with.

New model of high tech tourist hotel works well with QR code check-in & check-out & simple but adequate breakfast. Location near the foreign quarter & 1st stop of tram very good. Lean staff were youthful, enthusiastic & helpful.

beds are on low platforms which may challenge some guests, but we liked it. Music was loud in the lobby, but the set list was good!
