I absolutely loved my fabulous getaway at Meerendal Boutique Hotel! The attention to detail and thoughtful finishing touches in the room were exceptional. My room was beautifully equipped with a mini kettle, hair dryer, bathrobes, Nespresso machine, a lovely selection of teas and coffees, and soft, plush towels. The bed was incredibly luxurious — I had the best sleep in the spacious, comfy bed tucked away in a peaceful wing of the hotel. This would be a perfect spot for a romantic date night, an anniversary, or a special celebration like a wedding weekend. If you’re local, it’s a must for treating your partner to something memorable. A lovely surprise was the complimentary bottle of Shiraz and two tickets to the on-site Chocolatier — such a thoughtful touch! I highly recommend Meerendal Boutique Hotel for anyone staying in the Durbanville Hills area. The location is ideal — just 20 minutes from Blouberg beach and around 35–40 minutes from the CBD and Camps Bay. The staff were wonderfully friendly, from the gatekeeper to the ladies at reception. I’m so glad I discovered this hidden gem in the heart of Durbanville!

Lovely hotel set in the grounds of the Meerendal Wine Estate. Two restaurants are on site, with very good food and excellent service. The rooms are comfortable, but cold in Winter. The heating struggled against the cold night temperature; there was no electric blanket, so I looked for a blanket in the cupboard, but I couldn't find one. Pity, as it was required. The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Attached was a large beautiful bathroom. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

The bed is very comfortable and the free bottel of wine such a nice touch. The property is beautiful and it feels like we were on holiday although shops just a few km away. 2 restaurants on site.We went for a walk - lovely views over the surrounding greenery, restaurants and dam.

The fact that I booked a room with a bath and was then told I was upgraded -just that we only had a shower not a bath. Did not feel like a upgrade - he should have told me that the 'upgrade' does not have a bath... The automatic light in the hallway from the room to the bathroom takes too long to switch off. I did mention it when I checked out and the manager phoned me to apologise . The room was clean, comfortable and beautiful .

Truly a beautiful place. We were on the West Coast and thought that a night in Durbanville would make it easier to get to the Cape Town airport the following morning. We had booked a garden room, but they were doing work on that section and upgraded us to the Pinot Noir suite in the manor house. It was spacious and luxurious, with all the creature comforts -- including chocolates and some of the very good Meerendal merlot. The bathroom was enormous! We ate dinner at the on-site Bossa Restaurant, which had tables outside, inside, and in an open-air veranda area. Downtown Durbanville and several other wineries are just down the road. It's a lovely area, with its own distinctive vibe. Staying at Meerendal was a wonderful way to end a trip to beautiful South Africa.

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by two small bottles of complementary Meerendal wine in the room—a brilliant touch that also served as a thoughtful marketing opportunity. We will definitely opt for the garden suites again. The hotel features two onsite restaurants, each offering a unique and amazing culinary experience. The dining room with its woodburning fireplace created a perfect atmosphere, and despite its popularity with locals, the restaurant never felt crowded. The waitstaff were knowledgeable about local wines and provided excellent recommendations for food pairing. Service throughout our dining experiences was outstanding—prompt, friendly, and attentive. Located conveniently on the Durbanville wine route, the hotel allowed us to explore the area without the hassle of city center traffic. Overall, our two-night stay at Meerendal Boutique Hotel exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The combination of luxurious accommodations, impeccable service, and strategic location along the Durbanville wine route made it an outstanding choice for our visit. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and comfortable stay.

There was absolutely nothing to 'not like' about this venue.

Relaxing

Rooms could do with a long mirror, larger bins and usb plugs. The plug situation for overseas visitors is not good. There is one 1 chair in the room to sit on maybe and extra chair Kettles should be in the room. I did request one and they came straight away This is only constructive criticism.

We stayed in one of the Garden Suite Cottages and were pleasantly surprised at how luxurious the rooms are! We were spoilt with complimentary wine in our room, a Nespresso machine with pods and bottled water! These extra touches upon arrival immediately made us feel special & welcomed. The bed, pillows and linen are of the highest quality and made us feel like royalty to say the least. The safe in the cupboard was carefully thought out as its size is large enough to accommodate a laptop too.. this was again an extra bonus! We enjoyed the use of our minibar fridge in the room. As for the rest - we loved the convenience of walking across to the restaurants. Had dinner at LaRomantica and highly recommend it! Food & Staff were excellent 👌🏻 We visited the Chocolatier - COCOAFAIR (which is on-site) and indulged ourselves in these delicious handcrafted chocolates and truffles made from the finest cocoa beans (all are palm oil free!) Wine tasting was up next! Beautiful cozy wine tasting room and staff super helpful. The Pinotage was our favourite! We had breakfast at the other restaurant on-site, Bossa. Also a wonderful experience!

We loved the feeling of being in Cape Town surrounded by the natural beauty of the winelands. Meerendal offers various activities and we enjoyed most of it. From the hiking trail to the wine tasting and enjoying the restaurant. The room was beautiful, equipped with everything we needed and more. Thank you for making our stay so great! Next time we will stay longer than 2 nights.

That is how the Meerendal Team makes you feel when staying there. The rooms are outstanding, the restaurants on the property, exceptional service and off course, bonus, their wines are outstanding.

Super clean and extremely enjoyable. Well situated. We will definitely be back. The Bossa restaurant was brilliant and value for money.

Attention to detail slightly off. No Kettle for tea. No plug adapter for hair dryer. Welcome come letter was most appreciated but needs a spell check. La Romantica restaurant badly run. Our meal arrived incorrectly. The meal at Bossa put it to shame.
