We stayed for 1 night and we had a very good time. The house was old and somewhat neglected, in an neglected neighborhood, could sleep 7 people, had a functioning kitchen, not very well equipped in general, but it was still charming and had the best view in the village. We really enjoyed the balcony on the top floor, location was very good close to every site of interest in this charming village, quiet at night (we had a very good sleep). Staff was friendly and helpful and overall we would stay there again.

For breakfast it is better to prepare something on your own, or buy something in the village, although it was served in an charming room.

Breakfast was satisfactory thoughwe would have preferred a greater choice of fruit. This was not unusual. It seems that Italian breakfasts revolve mainly around bread/croissants and cakes!

There was no heating in our room on the first night and it was very cold. However, Valentino sorted this out quickly the next morning and the room was cosy after that.. The heater was noisy though but we recognise that this was a very personally run hotel and almost a home from home.

The terrance and location in the city were really good. The staff was nice and presented us everything we needed to know about the location and the city. I liked the old decorations and trying to keep it close to the old city.

The bathroom could use some modern changes. Also, maybe to do something to reduce the noise that you can hear from the next rooms.

We loved the different outside seating areas! Even though the owner didn't really speak English, he was very friendly and hospitable. The accomodation is situated in a very cute village with several nice restaurants.

excellent location in Castigilione Di Sicilia. Easy walk to the castle and a great base to explore the little streets of the town and the surrounding area. Very friendly and welcoming staff and a very good breakfast. They also have a wine shop nearby. The rooms are very quaint and very clean and had a good view of the castle. The owner recommended a good local restaurant for dinner which had excellent pasta dishes and traditional Sicilian food. We had only booked for one night as our next (pre booked) accommodation didn’t have availability when we decided to spend an extra night in the area. If you want an authentic Sicilian place to stay then look no further.

the only downside was that one side of the bed (mattress in 2 sections) was very hard and lumpy so my wife didn’t get much sleep. we did mention this to the owner who was very apologetic and said had we known earlier he would have offered us another room

Breakfast was the standard Italian breakfast (sponge cake & crostata). 2nd morning we were also given very good Italian cornetto which were very close to French croissants (the best we've had in Italy so far). Our room was cute with attached terrace with a fantastic view of Castello Lauria. We sat there for our al fresco dinner picnic, fantastico. Tony was very helpful and accommodating at the Reception. Gave fantastic recommendations.

The bed was squeaky, perhaps the joints needed to be tightened. The handheld shower head did not have a place to hook it (it was broken). The stopper in the sink needs also to be fixed, it kept falling down and would prevent water from draining. Generally, some more maintenance needs to be done on the place. Which otherwise is very cute.

The room was very comfortable and in the town centre. Public parking was easy within 2 minutes walk. The breakfast was incredible - a full selection of Sicilian cakes and pastries, served in a beautiful traditional-feeling room. Valentino was super-friendly and helpful and even gave us ideas for Sicilian recipes and cooking.

Amazing Sicilian experience in small village. Building is arranged beautifully, in the center of the village. Room was confortable, with AC. It was clean and quiet. All the people are very kind and helpful. Very nice Italian breakfast. We received additional salami, cheese and olive oil.

Very bad smell in the room. Coffee to the breakfast with powder milk in paper cups.

Location was lovely, nestled below the castle in the village. Love the narrow streets and peacefulness of the town. The accommodation has a lot of character. Staff were wonderful to talk to, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice with a good choice of things to eat. Great value for money.

The nature of the building itself you will inevitably hear the creek of the floorboards and ambient chatter from perhaps another room. Not a major dislike. Sorts of adds to the character of the place like your on an old wooden Galleon ship.
