My third time staying at Hotel Franq. Very helpful and polite staff, always happy to assist. The public areas are tranquil but sophisticated with their own special "scent", especially commissioned for the hotel I understand. Smallest room I have had there but I was on my own so it was fine. Tight for a couple though. This was compensated for by the huge, luxury shower. A nice touch is the high quality Marshall radio available in the room. Lovely breakfast . I had one of the most beautifully presented and perfectly cooked poached egg I have ever eaten. Great location too. Quiet, with just a short, interesting walk past ornate churches and the like to the Grote Markt, the very centre of Antwerp. Thoroughly recommended.

Not much - room size maybe.

The staff were all exceptionally helpful, cheerful and efficient. My room was quiet and of a good size; the bed was comfortable and the bathroom compact but well-designed. The breakfast was excellent, much of which (for example the granola and the jams) I believe are made by the hotel. There was a plenteous choice of fresh juices, fruit, pastries and a variety of meat. There was no printed menu, but I had the impression that nothing would have been too much trouble if one wanted a cooked breakfast. I didn’t eat dinner in the main restaurant, although the bar is very pleasant and there is an excellent Italian menu for food taken in the bar area. I liked the open, tranquil nature of the common lounge area, although I was at the hotel at a quiet time of year, and perhaps this could become rather a busy thoroughfare en route to the restaurant at other times of the year. The location of the hotel is excellent – in a reasonably quiet street, well away from the noise of the bars, shops and restaurants but within an easy five- to ten- minute walk of the main tourist areas and the cathedral. The railway station is only a twenty-minute walk away. In summary: a very warm, welcoming hotel even in the middle of winter, in the centre of a city.

It is difficult to identify something I did not like, however it would have been helpful if the complementary teas in the room had been replenished automatically each day. Also a small amount of fresh milk would have been pleasant (rather than the creamy UHT which is standard in hotels as a substitute for fresh milk). Having said this, I’m sure all this would have been attended to had I asked.

Location and staff were fantastic and very attentive to detail.

Our room was great albeit:- 1. The WC is in a separate cubicle off the lobby. That was great but it didn’t have a basin meaning you had to go the the bathroom to wash your hands. 2. There was a dead insect on the bathroom floor and that stayed with us the full trip. 3. Bedroom walls could do with a touch up - looked like a child had written on the walls next to the curtains. 4. No plug socket next to the desk. No real issues but something to think about perhaps….

IT was good weather and the breakfast tables were only set inside, not in the beautiful garden. A bit a pity. People asked to go outside and then we saw it was possible but it would've been nice to propose it proactively to the customers, or even better to dress already some tables outside and open the window so people could choose in or outside seating. We had to wait quite long to get our eggs.

The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring central Antwerp. But what really makes this hotel stand out is the team. Always willing to go above and beyond, nothing was too much of an ask, and what's more you felt welcomed and at ease to ask. If you're looking for a luxury hotel that isn't uptight this is perfect! And there are amazing features like The Little Tile House, and the vault that add an extra uniqueness to the stay. Oh and the breakfast was brilliant!

There's really not a lot to say here, my only suggestion is to make it clearer what can be ordered at breakfast, to be honest the team will make pretty much anything you ask for, but some suggestions on a menu would likely be helpful.

The hotel was as beautiful as in the pictures. The entree was very pretty and smelled great. Our stay was not very long but so comfortable. The room was specious and we loved the bedding. The bathroom was very clean and the offered products amazing. FYI the staff was so kind!

I have nothing bad the say about the hotel we only had a little water overflow situation with the shower. But it was a minor thing when everything else is really amazing.

The location is exceptional, although it's about a 20-minute walk from the train station, as public transportation (tram) no longer stops near the hotel. Loved the Clarins amenities and the rainshower. The bed is incredibly comfortable, and the Wi-Fi for work is excellent. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The fact that the hotel was once a bank and still retains its original bank vaults in the basement is a nice touch.

Everything was great

Spotlessly clean. Beautiful building and furnishings. Toiletries in the bathroom were lovely.

Dinner in their Italian restaurant was not good value for money. The portion sizes were more like children’s portions. Pasta as a main course was served in a bowl the size of a cereal bowl. Breakfast was ok but attracting the attention of staff for more coffee was a real issue. It would be better if each table had its own port of tea and coffee rather than getting one cup.

The room was clean and contained: a mini-fridge (empty), a safe, bottles of water (glass), glasses, "Antwerpse handjes" (typical cookie from Antwerp), a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, and a TV. The bathroom had various products, and contained a set of bathrobes as well as a set of slippers. The overall atmosphere felt very luxurious.

There was a black streak (maybe some object/piece of furniture moved against it) on the wall. The toilet was (this was rather well hidden) propped up on some pieces of wood (maybe for extra support?).

Excellent, quiet location just minutes from the historic centre. Lovely big bathroom with good lighting. Large comfortable bed with top quality linens.

Room was in the eaves so it felt a bit oppressive. This effectively shrinks the space as part is not full head height. Made us feel we had drawn the short straw for a deluxe room. There was no wardrobe in the room (whoever heard of that in a five-star hotel?) and the only mirror was a small one in the bathroom. Poor lighting in bedroom. Underfloor heating in bathroom not working properly so v cold.
