I always enjoy NOVOTEL in SZEGED, it is an enjoyable mixture of business hotel and leisure hotel. The staff is very professional, very attentive and showing no stress symptoms - even at peak times at reception. And SURPRISE, SURPRISE: on arrival Mr. M. (Reception Supervisor) informed me, that NOVOTEL selected myself as "Guest of the day", which included several ad-ons. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR this, it was lovely !!! The breakfast buffet was / is the best we always experienced during our journeys in Eastern Europe and Central Europe. Parking was no problem

The hotel was very well located, with a scenic river view, just far enough away from the city center to feel quiet and yet within 15 mins walking distance from the center through a nice park. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was very good,

There were some issues with the local trains when I was there, and the staff gave conflicting answers that led to some hassles. Since this is important for the guests, I suggest they make a better effort to keep up to date with transportation situations so as not to mislead guests.

Great location and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was a bit lacking in pastries/sweets but it was ok overall. It's a very old hotel so don't expect miracles, but we were overall pleased by our choice to stay here.

One hour before our arrival we were offered to stay at another hotel due to a technical issue with our room, but after getting to the other hotel we found it was deplorably lacking in almost anything (cheaper, no view, no parking, smaller rooms, etc.). After calling back to Novotel, a solution was found to stay there. It would have been great not to have to switch hotels back-and-forth after an 11-hour long journey or at the very least, ensure to offer the same quality and conditions as we paid for initially.

Room - comfort, cleanliness, well-maintained furniture, view of the river and the city, etc.) . Great breakfast, very polite staff, very good restaurant and great location. Great view from appartment we had (611) with view directed to the Tisza river and city center. General impression is great, so this is the reason why we have visited hotel for second time in short time period :-)

Few contructive suggestions: 1. The bed was not a double bed, but two single beds (which would mean us considering that we are a family) 2. In the bathroom, the shower cubicle was leaking, so after showering, water collected on the bathroom floor and we had to clean all other details 3. Considering location and busy city traffic, windows should have a bit better isolation But general impression is still very good, and plan to visit Novotel again (for third time) in next period :-)

Nice location. Very comfy and clean room. Staff was nice. It is ok to sleep there and maybe have breakfast. Definitely do not choose dinner!

We were there at the beginning of January. The hotel was ok but the “restaurant” was very disappointing. Breakfast room was extremely crowded and unorganized. They were clearly overwhelmed. Much more staff needed. Also the dishes were poor. We had dinner one day, very expensive with a very poor choice. (20 euros per person and you could choose from 3 types of potatoes and 2 kinds of meat) We travel a lot in Hungary and we love the Hungarian famous cuisine but it is definitely not the case this time.

The dinner had a good variety of meat dishes for non vegetarians. However, for vegetarians the menu was very limited to only one dish- which was always a pasta dish. On one occasion, they had some nice white fish on the menu too, but by that time we arrived for dinner, the fish dish finished and has been replaced with a non vegetarian chicken dish, so we had to order separately and pay for a margarita pizza.

It si the perfect location for visiting Szeged. It is on the bord of Tisza, a mighty river along which there are sometimes music festivals. We were lucky to stop in Szeged during Szin Festival which we attended one evening and also we could enjoy some of the music from the balcony (we were at the 7th floor). However, rooms were decently soundproof and were were not bothered by sound in any way during night. It is very close to the center of the city (8-10 minutes beautiful walk). The staff was helpfull and nice, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was very good and in the evening we could relax on the outside terrace facing Tisza river. The hotel has parking and EV charges, ideal for us since we were traveling with an electrical car. They are aslo pet friendly.

This was a very good hotel, really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean, the room was huge, and it had a balcony with two chairs and a pretty view of the river. Breakfast was tasty and diverse. The parking was full in the evening when we arrived, but if you get there in the first part of day, it should be easy to find parking. There are plenty of parking spots on the neighboring streets, and street parking is free during the weekend. It was a 20-minute walk to the Aquapark and also about the same for going into city center.

My only issue was with the mattress, it was verrrrry soft and it was killing my back.

We only stayed one night and the hotel was perfect for just sleeping. The beds were comfy and the room was clean and had enough space to move around. The hotel parking lot was full but from the Reception they found space for us in the underground parking. It costs 13 euros, when the outside parking was 8 or 9 euros. The street parking spaces are free on weekend days. They have a pool table in the lobby. The receptionists are kind and they speak good english.

The bathroom was kind of cramped and had no ventilation.

Everything was just like in photos. We liked the view. The breakfast was very rich. The staff was very polite. Room was big, clean and bed was really comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel.

The parking because it is divided. One part of parking is in front of hotel and has a tall. And it's been charged Euro 8 per day. But you can't make a reservation. We left our parking spot to go to the town. But when we came back, the parking was full. The other parking is on the side of the hotel and does not have a tall so it's like you park on the street. That was downside. Because I felt more secure when it was in front of hotel with the tall.
