My girlfriend & I were only there one night so I can't really elaborate on too many things. I found the staff to be pleasant & accomodating. The beds were comfortable. The price was reasonable compared to some of the other hotels in the area. While I have no complaints, If I were going to stay longer than a night or two & spend more time in the room I don't have much other than price to recommend the place. According to their web site there are renovations planned for this year & may still be in progress. Our room was not representative of the pictures on the site but I will stress .that we didn't choose the place based on that but more on location , price & availability The Amethyst is an older mom & pop type place so I wasn't expecting too much & what they had met our needs which were mostly a clean comfortable to sleep & shower.

The were up -charges for things like parking on the motels lot & other things such as arrival after , I believe, 6 pm which I was not aware of until I had already made the arrangements.

The motel is very simple but a great place to stay if you’re staying for a day or two or three, the staff was nice. The rooms were clean. The pool was nice, they allowed us to check in a little early, overall, I would stay there again for a couple of days and spend way less money than those big hotels

The hotel is a little dated. They need to update it other than that no complaints.

Check in and parking went smoothly. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, professional, super responsive, and trustworthy. I felt they cared about us and that is rare! I really felt right at home. Poolside is pleasant so are the people. There's an outdoor open air shower to rinse off. Access is simple.

The pool has too much chlorine smell for swimming for my liking. I prefer a salt water pool but our plans were last minute. Yet the pool area is pleasant and the neighbors are too.

Nice and clean with extremely friendly and helpful staff. There are a lot of complaints about paying for parking but it is well worth $20 to know you have a spot within walking distance of the beach and boardwalk. Pool was nice and clean.

Calling ahead to notify of arrival time was unusual although it did confirm that I could park and check in early.

This is my third stay here, I love the location and it's close to the beach and boardwalk. The ladies in the office are so nice, very pleasant and check in/check out time is quick. housekeeping always ask if there's anything you need. pool and patio areas are clean. I highly recommend this motel.

location, price, very nice staff, bed was super comfortable, clean. On the initial drive up and walk to the room, the motel looked a bit run down. but the room was really clean and had everything we needed. Who needs a fancy room that cost a lot of $$ when you have a comfortable bed and clean room and bathroom?!!

door was hard to get open, but staff helped get the door unlocked. no problem after that.

Staff absolutely went above and beyond…My room was ready early and I got in 5 HOURS early with NO extra charge.( never had this happen to me before)The location was perfect, close to the beach.Pool was large (9ft.) Room was very clean/comfortable and updated.

Location was awesome. Only a block away from the beach/boardwalk. Customer service was excellent. She even suggested the apartment that happened to be available and it was actually the best choice. I was able to check-in before usual time which was a huge help especially since I was traveling with children. I would definitely recommend the stay. It’s small and a bit outdated (could use some sprucing up) but that’s minimal If what you’re looking for is a quiet, clean, close to the main attraction place to stay.

It wasn't walking distance to any restaurants or liquor store. It looks like the facility at one time had a bar/restaurant. It would be beneficial if they would open that space up again. That’s the only thing really missing.

Classic American motel, family vibes, family-friendly, perfect location and clean and charming.

A few more amenities would've been appreciated, like bottles of water and shampoo/conditioner in the room. But there was nothing crucial lacking. A deadbolt on the door would've made me feel safer.

THE closest motel to Jenkinson's boardwalk on Point Pleasant beach, I love coming to The Amethyst Motel! I love a good decent no-fuss motel experience, atmosphere is very friendly and homey, owners and staff are what make the place feel clean and safe, for families of all sizes, there is a pool and free breakfast 10-minute walk to the njtransit train and local stores and restaurants, worth the stay every time!!

the Motel is aged and outdated but under renovation!! Despite that, this motel has that classic jersey shore motel feel that feels like home!
