My 8yr old and I stayed here for 3 nights, we loved it. The owners were wonderful and went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. The pictures really don't do the pool area and garden justice. It's really chilled and quiet, the pool is great, covered seating and sun loungers. Plants everywhere, the owners obviously take great care in making everywhere look really nice. We also went on a wildlife and bird watching boat tour organised by the owner. Early morning start just 2 minutes from the accommodation, saw loads of birds including a sea eagle catch a fish right next to us! We took a tuktuk when we first arrived from the train station, but during our stay we walked into the fort area. It was easy to take a bus to other beaches such as Unawatuna and Dewatta. My daughter had a great surf lesson at Dewatta. Highly recommended this place to all!

We had an exceptional stay at this lovely hotel. The owner was truly amazing—always ready with helpful advice and willing to assist with anything we needed. He even helped arrange transportation for us at a very reasonable price, which made getting around so much easier. The room was spotlessly clean, and we really enjoyed the decent Sri Lankan breakfast each morning. The only downside is that it's a bit far from Galle Fort if you're walking—especially under the hot sun on the main road—but this isn’t a problem if you’re using a tuk tuk. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Short walk into town, but quiet enough neighbourhood Nice leafy area so not much direct sunshine meant it stayed very comfortable most of the time, even without air conditioning. Large comfortable bed Breakfast was terrific, I didn’t have dinner but came back to see other guests appearing to enjoy it immensely. Plenty of seating both inside and outside the room Lots of drying space for wet clothes

There is quite a bit of construction going on in the street and adjacent neighbourhood. Obviously no fault of the property but if you’re travelling there soon (I was there Feb 2025) keep that in mind Wifi pretty terrible, would barely stay connected and next to no speed when it did. Fortunately I had data but again something to keep in mind if you are wifi only during your trip.

Great place to stay. Its within walking distance and not far from the fort. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and they arranged a very cheap transfer for me to colombo with an hour stop in bentota. This is not a 5 star place but it provides value for money. I paid 45usd so it was not bad. With a few minor adjustments this place can really be transformed into something special. Its an awesome family run business.

The shower are needs a shower curtain or door as water does splash onto the toilet leaving the bathroom a bit messy. The breakfast does need improvement as the bread was stale and i saw an ant in the sugar jar. Fruits were very fresh. Coffee was good. Eggs were average as most places are in sri lanka. No shower curtain made the bathroom area messy. My laptop took around 3 hours to get to a 20% charge. I don't think adequate electricity is coming through from the plug points. When charging your phone you have to deal with a few sparks from their adapter.

Wow! 10 out of 10! Book this now before it's too late because it really is a gem of a place and a true find. Set a short tuk tuk ride (250Rps) from the fort this delightful homestay has everything, and I mean everything, you could wish for. Set in a lovely secluded area close to the lake and amidst your own mini jungle you can guarantee a peaceful nights sleep. The rooms were amazing! Huge and spotlessly clean with fabulous bathroom, comfortable beds, aircon and views over the delightful garden. There's a lovely swimming pool and tables and chairs in yet another garden area to the side of the property too. However, the truly wonderful thing about Ging View Villa is the family who run it, so lovely and so helpful. Book now to avoid disappointment

We enjoyed our time at Ging View Villa. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice shaded balcony The staff were friendly and very helpful. In particular our host arranged for our Tuktuks to be serviced at a very reasonable price and we really appreciated this. The property has a lovely swimming pool which we enjoyed. The breakfast were very good and overall we had a good time there.

The access way to the property which also serves other properties was a bit muddy but this was due to the seasonal monsoon rains.

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at this accommodation. From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel incredibly welcome. As soon as our tuk-tuk pulled up, he greeted us with a warm smile and offered us a Welcome Drink. He showed us to our room, which was exactly as pictured—clean, cozy, and equipped with fresh towels and essential toiletries. The host’s hospitality didn’t stop there. We requested lunch, and within 15 minutes, we were enjoying delicious, home-cooked meals with a variety of options. He went above and beyond by providing invaluable advice about local markets, must-see attractions, and even helped us plan a boat safari. The trip was an absolute highlight! We saw numerous birds, monitor lizards, monkeys, and even bats. The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, sharing fascinating details about the local flora and fauna, including cinnamon trees. The private boat tour, tailored just for us, was a serene and unforgettable experience at a very reasonable price. We truly appreciate the host’s efforts in making our stay so enjoyable!

The sweetest family runs this place — they made me feel right at home. The room was clean, new, and very comfortable. I got sick during my stay, and they went above and beyond, preparing home remedies, recommending doctors, and sending food to my room. Their kindness truly touched me. Plus, they have an adorable kitten and a delicious breakfast that made the stay even more special! Highly recommend..

The owner was very friendly, everything was top notch. The rooms are large and comfortable, there is a private terrace, you can take a dip in the pool, large and delicious breakfasts. There is everything for a quiet life here. Photos of garden and rooms are completely true

After two washes, our things faded and became stained (almost everything we took with us was ruined, minus one star for that), but they didn't take it for that money, thanks

Very clean hotel with several nice sitting areas and a very nice pool. The staff and owners were super friendly and accomodating. We felt very welcome. Food was great. We enjoyed a river safari which the owner arranged for us with one of his neighbors. Another neighbor is a tuktuk driver so it was easy to get to Galle and other places.

You have to cross a busy road, walk over trash and climb over rocks to get to the beach. The beach itself was nice though.
