Mango House – Galle Fort is a charming, family-run boutique hotel in the heart of the city, just a minute's walk from everything. Despite its central location, the hotel is quiet and peaceful, offering a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff make you feel right at home. The food was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic experience in Galle Fort.

The room was a bit small and felt slightly cramped, but it came with a lovely private balcony — a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Small, attractively decorated boutique hotel set in a former cinnamon factory. My room was very comfortable and well-appointed, with a small balcony overlooking the rooftops of Galle. It was very quiet too, other than the occasional sound of rain falling on the roof, which helped me fall asleep! The staff are friendly and very welcoming (the welcome ritual is a nice touch!), and the breakfast (served in the leafy al fresco courtyard) was particularly good, with a choice of fruit or buffalo milk curd with honey (a local specialty), followed by a main dish (hoppers for me).

The air con could have been a little more powerful — I was there during a very hot and humid period.

I stayed at this hotel for one day (didn't stay the night ) while transiting from Mirissa to Colombo, and it was an amazing experience. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Galle Fort, allowing for easy exploration of the area. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, and they even upgraded my room, which was a lovely surprise. The room itself was spotless, well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a fantastic working A/C and strong water pressure. The decor was beautifully styled, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I couldn't have asked for a better place to rest during my transit!

Our loft room with two queen beds was clean and comfortable and had a big bathroom. Aircon and fans worked great. Breakfast was fabulous and the staff friendly. The quaint hotel is just off the fort centre in a quiet but really accessible location. Great for a family of four.

Room 4's downstairs window opens up into the hotel reception area so the room is lit up until late at night when the lights get dimmed. A blackout blind would solve this small challenge. Also, the loft room has a skylight on top of the bed so a sleep in isn't possible which impacted the teenagers 😆

An EXEMPLARY selection of Accommodation ~ from the Welcome and gratis fuit juice offered upon arrival, the patient and timely showing me to my Room ~ prompt courteous attention to my any enquiry during my three day stay ~ within the confines of the Fort Walls, proximity to Restaurants and locations of Cultural/Historical Interest ~ Mango House, the Building/Accommodation IMPRESSIVE, but above all else the Management and Staff more so ~ if whosoever might read these words, I Highly Recommend Mango House as where you should stay whilst visiting Galle...

Criticism/Complaint in any way is unwarranted ~ the Courtyard/Restaurant a welcoming area as the entrance to the property immediately off the street, lush and with an overhead canopy of umbrellas on the short pathway walk to Reception an appealing/eye catching feature, set the scene for a most enjoyable and fabulous stay...

Our stay in The Mango House, Galle was short but sweet. The staff there were responsive to our needs during our stay. A lovely boutique hotel centrally located inside the Fort area with all sights within an easy 5 min walk. The room we had was well appointed; aircon very good, nice bedding and a fantastic power shower. The breakfast provided was very good. I particularly enjoyed my mixed fruit platter and Egg Benedict. All in all a very comfortable stay. We would highly recommend to anybody planning to stay in Galle.

Breakfast was top class served with big portion of fruits and super tasty. My Favorite Benedict option. You have to try it. I suggest very earlu brekfast and before gets very hot for refreshing walk after coffe. Great atmosfere in restaruant make eating special even if raining ☔# Beautiful, phenomenal cute hotel with amazing entrence doing great impresion at first. Very welcome staff great you with cold juice and selction of small nuts with cumin. Good combintaion. Since then everything is perfect here, design , longue room, YOUR room is amaizng. I have seen a few and they are exeptional. Manager Pradeep is very friendly with great english and alwasy keen to help. Staff super friendly and we could easy stay 2 weeks there. Shame our stay was short. We love food & and romantic chilled athmosfere. 10/10 for me and my partner :-) p.s. Add always beef stake option for UK customers to menu and purple fruit juice to menu and brekfast and we come back next December ;-P

Amazing stay at Mango House - located within Galle Fort so the location is perfect if you plan on staying in Galle, shops, restaurants and cafes all on your doorstep. The rooms are very modern, clean and the staff so helpful and friendly. The restaurant is also great for dinner and they do an amazing breakfast (Sri Lankan or continental).

Nothing - this hotel is worth the price. I would stay again.

Cute hotel in Galle Fort. Very kind and helpful staff - they solved some doubts we had about transportation to Aluthgama and we even got an upgrade 😊 Also one of the best Sri Lankan breakfast we had during our trip! We would stay there again 😊

It would have been nice to have a shower screen (water splashed on the floor and sink).

Great location in Galle Fort, easy to reach all nearby attractions. Helpful and attentive staff , especially Pradeep who did his his best to accommodate and upgrade us to the best first floor room. Super food especially the breakfast. Lovely decor and courtyard eating area.

Some of the rooms don’t have outside light and are noisy in the morning aa near kitchen. Obviously this is ok if you are an early riser. Very quiet at night though. Ground floor washroom could do with an upgrade.
