As a solo female traveler, I couldn’t have picked a better place than Moi Galle Fort. From the moment I arrived, I felt not just welcomed but truly seen. The team here is genuinely kind, warm, and always ready with a smile. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed (and more!) during my stay. What really stood out was how thoughtful and attentive everyone was from offering perfect, tailor-made drinks after a hot afternoon stroll, to giving me the most authentic local tips on where to eat, what to do, and how to experience Galle like a local. I never once felt alone or unsure of where to go. A special shoutout to the team for generously inviting me to their nearby beachside properties just 20 minutes away. I was offered free pool access and joined their gorgeous sundown sessions by the beach and wow, the vibes were incredible. It felt like stepping into a little community of like-minded travelers, music, laughter, and golden hour magic. Moi Galle Fort isn't just a place to sleep it's a place to feel. The rustic charm, the energy, the people it all came together to make my trip unforgettable.

The location of Moi Galle Fort is unbeatable – right in the heart of Galle Fort on a lively and charming street. It’s very affordable, especially compared to other options in the area. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or needs.

While the price and location are excellent, there are a few downsides. The dorm and bathroom are not lockable, which can feel a bit insecure. With only two small lockers available for four beds, I was unfortunately left without one as the third guest to arrive. Additionally, the upper bunks could be better equipped, as they lack power outlets and shelves for storing personal belongings. Another minor inconvenience is having to pass through the restaurant to access the inner part of the hotel, although this does contribute to the overall security of the property.

Absolutely exceptional location - right in the heart of Galle Fort. The accommodation has a modern, well-thought out interior with artistic design and decor, the rooms are clean, comfortable and have good air conditioning and provide multiple power socket options, with good WiFi. Mention too must go to the staff who were friendly, provided impeccable service (and a great breakfast!). Simply no greater value for money for the standard, service, staff and location.

My recent stay at Moi Galle Fort was truly amazing. The hotel's unique blend of colonial architecture made for a memorable experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the location within the historic Galle Fort area was another plus point for the hotel. Everything was just perfect

We arrived at the location only to be told we were staying at 'sister hotel' due to facility issues. However we really liked the new location around the corner in the Galle Fort and had all the old world charms with comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The hotel had helpful host and is perfect location for exploring the Fort and the shops and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent.

Amazing location within the fort and we loved the MOI welcome we received with fresh juice and friendly hospitality. We booked MOI as we had previously stayed with them in Ella and they didn’t disappoint. It’s lovely to stay within a family run hotel and the place is arty and quirky with delicious food. What made it even more special was the beautifully hand written card and flowers that the female guests received on the morning of international women’s day. Such a lovely touch The price is incredibly affordable for such a high end service that you will receive from the team

It was a very cozy environment. Super clean and comfy. Shihan was an extremely helpful staff member who went out of the way to help me. I did not get to try the food there, but I'm sure it would have been amazing too. Highly recommend the place and I'm definitely going to book here once again.

I wish there was a smoking area inside the premises, but that is a very personal request. Nothing bad, really!

We liked the location. It is right in the middle of ancient Galle Fort. we liked walking around Empy Fort early in the morning and late at night. The room was pretty small but had perfectly working AC, the bed and mattress, pillows, and blanket were comfortable, and we had good rest after a tiring hot day full of walking. The bedsheets and towels were fresh and clean.

The washroom door was not locking and didn't even close fully. For us, it was not a problem. and a bit of old facilities in the washroom

We arrived in a light drizzle and were met by jovial helpful staff who came out with a smile and quickly helped us offload our luggage amidst jokes and conversations. We had small issues with breakfast and price difference but that was quickly resolved by the manager who is proactive and diplomatic. We chose the Family room which came with a queen bed plus a bunkbed. The room was spacious enough with ample space to store luggage in a practical way for 3 guys. The bathroom is very small and the facilities cramped in but useable. The linen was fresh and the beds were comfortable enough. The air condition was cold and quiet. The one thing we did not expect was the quality of food served here. We found the food freshly cooked to order, piping hot and delicious. The reception cum dining area is tastefully designed and out in the entranceway porch there are thoughtful areas with el fresco dining/drinking while people watching and also 2 day beds with plenty of cushions to laze while you read or tinker with your phone. Overall Moi is very welcoming and comfortable and gives good value for its location.

Below are not complains but suggestions and my humble opinions. The room we were in did not have a kettle or coffee/tea making facilities. It would be nice to make up for this with a hot/cold water dispenser with coffee/tea placed near the kitchen for guests to use. Even though the room is generally clean, the spaces under the beds are really in need of a good sweeping and mopping. The bathroom can utilise its space better with either a smaller wash basin or moving the basin into the room itself. The kitchen need a better extractor. Every time the chef fries his delicious food, the strong smell wafts into the corridors outside the room. But overall, it is a nice place to stay.
