The expectations are mixed. Location is great. The rest is doubtful. One can see that the place has seen better times. Bit overpriced for current condition of everything. Bed was great on one side. Breakfast was fine, but dinner was not cooked o.k. so one had to choose between several dishes to match what was fine. The place has enough pools & facilities, but not enough loungers for all the people - no matter which place you choose to try.

The pools were dirty, especially the outside & all cold pools in spa were with absolute dirty water. Some of the cabins were not cleaned for ages. After the rain there was sewer smell in some of the facilities - that did not go for two days. Although the car was registered for the parking - probably "free parking" is in the mud on the next street. The WiFi - was absolute disaster - several WiFi hot spots, low speed and bad coverage. In our room - no WiFi at all. It was overall too hot in the hotel as the air-conditioning could not manage all the people. We had an air conditioner in our room, but our friends did not and had to sleep on open windows. The bath is overall tiny for such hotel and there was water leak from somewhere.

The food

We live in A401 ( deluxe apartment) , but the WIFI was terrible, The drawer doesn't work, and people smoke in the restaurant (not smoking area). The small pools were dirty, the water wasn't change long time. The hotel needs renovation.

The spa facilities are wonderful. We had to change rooms with a single person in our party due to this hotel, not being suitable for people with mobility problems which my wife suffers from. There is only a lift in one part of the building and the deluxe double we had booked was not in that part with lots of steps and corridors to negotiate to access. Both rooms were great but a small double was a struggle for us to stay in for a week. It's a great hotel if you are mobile, if not it is a struggle The restaurant is good with a good choice for Breakfast and dinner.

The hotel has exceptional staff and facilities. The room was huge and had one of the best bathrooms in a hotel ever. The breakfast and dinner were good with plenty of food to choose from. The spa was okay. The fitness has good equipment. The hotel is big, it has several interesting activities you can do inside that can keep you and your kids occupied throughout the day (excluding the obvious ones like spa and fitness).

The hot water in the thermal pools didn't have a consistent temperature. Also, the SPA is not that big and it gets overcrowded during weekend or big company events.

My first impression was that the lobby was super clean and that the staff was extremely friendly. The food was tastier than most of the hotels and there was a lot! It's 10/10

What we didn't like is the vacuum in the room, it could be better. When we went to the restaurant to eat some soup before the evening meal in the kitchen there were arguments between the kitchen staff which shared a lot of negatives between each other and us, they also gave the soups cold but they warmed it up after we told them, the rest were okay.

- Previously the water in the pools was much warmer. - Parking places could be short of availability, if the hotel is fully booked. - The hotel is super nicely maintained, but the moment you are out of any Velingrad hotel, dirty streets, holes on the roads, dogs, no paths to walk around the hills.

- pools were nice - food was excellent - staff was super friendly and helpful - we felt welcome and comfortable - they have cool play area with arcade games, billiards, table games and card games - overall it seemed very well maintained for a hotel of such size in Bulgaria

- electricity in our room (A209) cut off for 10 seconds every ~30 minutes - room was a bit dusty - mosquito net door had a gap above and mosquitos were able to get in - sometimes arcade games take your token and don't start - drinks at restaurant are not included in the dinner. Waiters/waitresses are going around tables and bringing drinks. However, you need to catch their attention and you need to wait for one to come near you to do so. They won't come on their own. Seemed like the restaurant was understaffed.

Great spa facilities, breakfasts was my personal highlight (a large choice of OVERYTHING, and the daily large honeycomb straight out of the hive was truly exceptional) extras are not overpriced which was a pleasant surprise at the checkout. Any technical issues are resolved very quickly and in a friendly manner(we though we had a broken light and the technician was sent immediately) turned out the mistake was on our side - we didn’t put place the access card in the card holder, the technician faced our silliness with relief and happiness. Unforgettable experience 💯

SPA zone is generous and I love that I can spend time in multiple pools and sauna. Also the personal (reception, bar, room) is pleasant. I appreciate that in the bar area they discontinued using coffee/chocolate aroma.

I have been more than 6 times at this hotel and I can observe that during each breakfast, the available plates (to collect food) are more or less dirty (ex. nuttela). This creates a dislike feeling about having breakfast, dinner etc in the hotel. The room and bathroom light intensity is very low; so each time I use the phone light to shave myself.
