The property is lovely, very well maintained. Very nice and clean swimming pool area. The location cannot be beat. Grocery store, laundromat and a restaurant across the street. Steps away from the beach and town center.

None of the windows, doors, including bathroom window came with protective screens. We were not able to open any windows and doors to let fresh air in and air it out; otherwise would be full of mosquitoes and other insects. I believe it would be an easy improvement to add at least 1 screen per room. Swimming pool is not heated, water was cold; on a 100F day it would be refreshing.

I absolutely love this property—everything is just so easy. The beach is only a 5-minute walk, or you can relax by the pool all day. It’s super clean and beautiful. The staff are lovely and always ready to help. Right across the road is an amazing restaurant called Birds on the Roof. The location makes it easy to get anywhere. Truly loved it!

I didn’t love that dogs were allowed to swim in the pool. One guest was playing fetch with their dog in the water while I was there, and the pool ended up full of dog hair—which was pretty gross. When I asked about it, the guest said the staff told them it was allowed. Definitely a strange experience.

Excellent location in the heart of Montauk with shops and eateries in close walking distance, as well as the beach! We ate at The Bird right across the street, which was divine! We also dined at Alimentari and Montauk Bake Shop. There are cute souvenir and gift store dotting the surrounding area, and we even bumped into a major celeb while grabbing coffee in town. Can't say who, or else that would blow his cover, but it was truly an amazing stay even though we were met with endless rain from the moment we stepped foot in the town until the second we left! That said, the comfort level at Daunt's was 10/10 - the bed was so relaxing and the sheets felt smooth, and smelled so clean. The team were beyond accommodating and were truly attentive and kind to us. This was our very first trip to Montauk and we came for my husband's birthday and they did everything to make us comfortable and well looked after. It was truly a 5-star experience and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Not much to say here, other than a tapping sound outside when it rained, but that did not disrupt our sleep at all.

We only stayed for one night after 4 nights in NYC. It wasn't enough! This place is a real gem, We loved Montauk and the road trip out of the city, before catching a flight home to London. The Rooms were cool & lovely, and the bed is probably the most comfortable bed, with the best bed sheets I've ever slept on! Absolutely dreamy! The outside area is super cute and I would have loved to stay longer to spend more time there! The owners are really helpful and gave us some great tips for food, sunset view and drinks for our one night stop. It was a magical night that will never be forgotten! Thank you!

Very close to a shopping and a restaurant "strip." Walking distance to beach. Short drive to both hero park and lighthouse. Great staff and attentive. I can feel they wanted to please and be accomodating.

First impression was that the room didn't look like the pictures, on website. Call it good marketing in that the pictures had given me a higher expectation. But that's ok. 2nd: Couldn't cook 1st night upon my late arrival. However, next day I requested a pot and a sauce pan and was able to make light breakfast on forward. 3rd: I had brought meats to cook on the grill but since the grill is close to the pool (which had a big safety net covered) I had no access. My decision to choose this place was based on what is written on their online/website. I found it to be inconsistent. So that was disapointing but not a huge deal. 4th: There is no a key (mailbox) box to drop the keys if you check out early. I left at 5:30am and I had to leave the keys outside in the front door.

Lovely property! Adorable room decorations , vintage chic, and very clean. Hotel staff very kind and helpful. I lost my credit card and the staff helped me find it. We’ll definitely be back. The owners also own restaurant across the street, which is equally adorable and yummy!

We loved that everything was walking distance and the hotel was clean and had a double bed with a kitchen and the + was we had a balcony that my dog, sister and I love. We were booked for 2 days, but we stayed an extra day. that's how much we love this hotel. We will be back next year.

I really liked it here, nice setting. Clean, simple room with stone floor. Excellent shower. Had great conversations with the people at check in & check out - really friendly place. Probably crazy busy in high season.

The air heater / cooler system was noisy, but it wasn’t a problem really; I switched it off before sleeping.

Our room was a good size and clean. There was a cute kitchenette with a table and two chairs, which was fantastic for eating our takeout. Some motel rooms we have been to in Montauk don’t have two chairs, so you end up eating on the bed or standing. The balcony was great and if it weren’t so cold I would have loved to have used it. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We were walking distance to everything. The staff was very friendly. I really enjoyed the outside area, particularly the heated sitting area. This was my first time at Daunt’s and I will definitely be back.

The walls were kinda thin. We could very clearly hear our neighbors conversations, and I am sure they heard us too. We heard them very clearly partying until 200 am. The shower stall was kinda small. The sink water was extremely hot, but the shower was lukewarm. I like a hot shower so that was slightly disappointing. The housekeeper unlocked our door and walked into our room, never knocking. She seemed to believe we were supposed to be checked out, but we booked two days and weren’t due to leave until the next day. Simple misunderstanding I guess, but kinda rude. Good thing we weren’t undressing or something…and good thing we were there.

This really was a gem of a find on our holiday, lovely place with exceptional facilities. They have gone out of their way to turn this from a motel to a boutique style hotel and it works! the communal fire pits were a real treat to and a great way to meet people over an afternoon drink. The breakfast voucher at Bird on the Roof was a great touch too.
