The property is beautiful and quiet! Very close to walk into town but also, a real rural feel. The breakfast they served has homemade pastries and a few eggs/meat/cheese options. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a great touch! We received complimentey bottles of their wine upon checking in, which was an unexpected touch. The staff was so nice and able to give great recommendations for dinner. Absolutely a great stay!

Everything was amazing! I would recommend maybe cleaning the ceiling fans, etc a bit more frequently. However, the beds, floors, counters, etc were all spotlessly clean so it’s really just a small minor nit-pick that doesn’t matter given all the other amazing things about the property!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the property was neat and clean, and the room comfortable. Breakfast was good, and parking was on the property. We took the steep cobbled path down into the town, which took about 10 minutes. You could walk by a longer, less steep way if you wished. It was nice to spend an hour in the old streets and by the harbour. We looked at several places to eat and chose wisely.

fairly new hotel with very spacious and comfortable rooms, a bit far from the center but fortunately there is a large parking. the staff (Carla) is so friendly and helpful, with her smile she immediately makes your day successful. the breakfast is tasty and very varied. the accommodation, located between the vineyards, is also a winery. a bottle of wine of own production is offered for free.

We loved the hotel. It had eveything we needed: the room was very clean plus there was a tea kettle in it, the breakfast had a wide selection of foods (beside the usual options there were some specials too, like tortilla de patatas, guacamole, etc.), it was in a very calm and silent area, and it was a short walk from the center of the town. Additionally, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. They recommended us good restaurants and things to do in the area. We really enjoyed our time there. We'd love to go back again. 

What a find! Hotel Gaintza is a hotel and winery located in the countryside next to the Camino de Compostela northern route. Vineyards surround this beautiful establishment. One can take a tour of the winery and vineyards with wine and food tastings for a reasonable fee. It was an absolutely wonderful stay.

Everything was perfect

Very friendly hosts, nice rooms, and a great location in the middle of vineyards. I had some bad luck with a safe that emitted a loud sound for some reason, and when I called the hosts, they came immediately and offered me another (and even better) room. Those things happen - probably it was just an almost-empty battery - and I really appreciate the quick reaction of the hosts. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, and they brew good coffee.

Very clean,quiet, small establishment, comfortable room, nice bath. Views wonderful of vineyard. Wine, Gaintza, very good and nice tour as winery attached. The Camino de Santiago next to hotel and can walk any direction to other towns. Staff very accommodating and can make some tours.

The hotel is actually part of a vineyard, which caters for an excellent opportunity to do some wine tasting. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is great, and the old town and port of Geteria a 10 minute walk down the hill. Highly recommended.

Very clean and modern. Well located and very attentive and pleasant staff.

We liked everything but it is worth noting for anyone less mobile that it is a short walk up hill from the centre of Getaria. Not a problem for us but might be for others.

Fantastic hotel with great service and welcoming. Very beautiful and quite location. Outstanding home made and pastries at breakfast. The room is beautiful with perfect linnen also in the bathroom. Airco and warm and cosy in winter, we stayed there in january with freezing cold temperatures outside. I forgot my glasses and they were sent to my home address without any problem. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it highly.
