The breakfast options are amazing! You can have a different breakfast to order from the kitchen everyday and won’t run out of options. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, they had a lot of helpful suggestions whenever I needed them. The pub was not loud at all so I could sleep well during the night.
Be careful with Google Maps: there used to be another pub named “Dillwyn Arms” in the city which doesn’t exist anymore. This one is located in a village just outside Swansea where you’ll need to take the bus into town for an hour. It’s a cute and quiet village though and I really enjoyed my stay here!

Comfortable room, well fitted shower room, good central location , excellent breakfast available.Generally nice surroundings and helpful staff - the pub and restaurant are clearly very popular with local people too! Wi-Fi was secure and reliable. Great value overall- and as a single traveller I wasn’t penalised on the double room rate.
The room was not cleaned at all during the stay and coffee/tea not topped up - though I was once asked if I needed any more coffee etc. I’m sure it would have been done if I had asked. There was a bit of noise from the bar early evening, but it did not go on til late🙂 parking may be difficult at busier times of the year?None of this should be a deterrent though - overall it was all good.

Great location in town, there's quite a few places around if you don't want to spend all night in the bar there. I was lucky with a parking spot, dived in as someone was leaving. Bar staff friendly, as are the locals. The food is obviously quite good. When I got there the restaurant area was packed. I checked in and went up to the room. When I came down an hour later, it was empty, maybe there was a special on? I didn't eat there.
Room was very 'tired'. There's no doubt this place could do with a refurbishment. There was a 90's style Sky Box on top of the wardrobe. It had power, that's all it had. In fact, I had to retune the TV, there were no channels on it al all when I switched it on. The bed, well, I've slept on more comfortable planks. Towels were ok, as were the en-suite facilities.

Clean comfortable rooms at an exceptionally low price. Hotel run by a delightfully friendly helpful family.. Hotel is in a small town handy for the motorway but on the edge of the beautiful Swansea Valley and Brecon Beacons National Park Hotel does lovely pub food.
One or two tiny things like no water glasses in the bathroom, no soap tray in the shower, rather cramped car park and instant coffee at breakfast. (All except the car park could be easily fixed and I think the family are people keen to do everything possible to give guests the best experience.)

I visited for one night on Wednesday 12th Feb 2025. I arrived at the hotel around 4pm and was greeted by the host Nathan who was super nice and friendly. I was shown to my room. The room was a really decent size, good on suite bathroom which was more than big enough. The room was perfectly clean and passed my dust and bed check with flying colours. The bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was a full English and absolutely delicious. Plenty of teas and coffee and in the room with a nice clean kettle included. The room included a nice big wardrobe. I was here for the football as my team was playing at Swansea City. The stadium is just under a 15 minute drive and a fantastic location. All in all a fantastic stay. The best part? The total cost including breakfast eas just £43.50. Absolute bargain. I hope to be back next season. 👍

We booked two rooms, one double one twin. Double was perfect, clean, spacious and comfortable. The bar was well stocked, and all staff were really helpful, and friendly. Breakfast was superb, freshly cooked to order and delicious and excellent quality.
The twin was a good size, however the temperature was too warm the radiator was on full bladt, and the window keys were unavailable so the windows were locked, so door had to be propped open, to cool it down. Toilet bowl was not really clean in that room unfortunately.so was a shame as otherwise the place was very reasonable price wise.

Stayed for seven nights while visiting friends and family. Found the place very friendly with good food and very good basic facilities. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the bustling metropolis of Pontardawe, should you be considering an alternative for food or need to lay in supplies. Breakfasts were fabulous (cockles and laver bread!) and were sorely missed when I moved on. Will definitely be staying again the next time I'm home.
Very minor gripes really, I found the stairs a bit of a struggle, but I do have limited mobility due to arthritis. Place probably wouldn't be suitable for a wheelchair user. Also, parking space in the car park is limited so if that's an issue, is something to consider.

Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The Pub has exceptional food which is good value for money.
The rooms are basic and are in need of refurbishing. The TV in the room was small and the mattress needed replacing for a comfortable memory foam one or something similar. The bathrooms needs more hooks and some shelves to put toiletries on. Although relatively clean there was dust on top of the wardrobes and on the sky TV box and on the back of the TV. These are small details, however, if fixed would improve the overall quality and experience of the guests stay. The curtains and blinds are old and don't work well and should be replaced.

There was a good shower in the bathroom and easy to control, the bed was very comfortable with a nice weighted duvet, the room was a comfortable tempreture, there was a very good choice for the inclusive breakfast and the offer of either fresh or whole plum Tomatoes was a nice touch.
I am not a fan of those Nescafe coffee sachets in the bedroom they are quite bitter for my taste and I was dissapointed to find that the same sachets were being used in the dining room. The Free Wi Fi service password was not on display in the bedroom and felt it should be.
