the breakfast was very good

the room was a total letdown , it was one of the smallest rooms i have ever stayed in , i have never seen such a small shower room and a room that had a sink in the room and not in the shower room absolutely no where to put any washing facilities . problems with the wall lights ,again very odd as the bulbs where dependent on being charged up . they where unable to offer us an alternative room , my husband is 6ft and barely got in the showeroom , imposible e to dry yourself in the shower room . the lounge area and dining room and bar made up a bit for the room , if it hadn,t been for the staff who where all very nice it would have been even more of a disappointment , definately not value for the money we paid

Loved the hotel public rooms, very stylish and comfortable. Loved the amazing food, they clearly have a great chef! Breakfast cooked to order, a fantastic Sunday lunch and a delicious evening meal. Faultless!All staff are so friendly and helpful, particularly the lovely Tori who was behind the bar most of the time we were there. She is an absolute delight, so friendly, chatty and an absolute asset to the hotel. Easy walk to both the beach and old Shanklin so a good location. Great heated outdoor pool and nice comfy seating outside. Lovely comfy bed and room clean. We also had a free-standing fan which we needed as it was really warm for the duration of our stay. There's car parking either at the side of the hotel or behind it. It's not what you call a conventional car park and there probably aren't enough spaces for the number of rooms they have, but there's on road parking in adjacent side streets. We stayed in August and always managed to get a space in the car park. As you can tell, we had a great stay and would go back.

Our bedroom, room 4, was a little small for a double but had most things you would need in a bedroom. The vanity sink is unusually in the bedroom rather than in the toilet/shower room but it's manageable. Shower took a while to heat up as in minutes but was a comfortable heat when it got there. We had a massive B&O TV which occupied a corner of the room. If that could have been wall mounted, it would have allowed a decent space for a dressing table which is one item of furniture that was missing from the room.

Has a pool and sauna. Lovely bar and restaurant. Rooms are being updated and this hotel will get better and better. Attention to detail in the restaurant and bar are excellent. Amazing art. Very boutique style. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

I found the shower pressure low, which I know they have added filter shower heads to each room and it was explained in the room information but if I’d have wanted to wash my hair which is fairly long and thick it would have taken far too long.

Staff and owners were very welcoming and friendly. New owners just taken over. Bar area newly refurbished to a very high standard. Owners on site serving customers and greeting them. Rooms were a little tired but very clean and comfy. New Owners well aware of this. Breakfast was lovely and the out door heated pool very nice added bonus for my daughter. Location was very good. We will definitely be returning soon.

My daughter cut her feet in a few places as did I on the bottom of the pool. Not a major issue as when speaking to the owner at the bar he said the pool is the next big project and was well aware the pool was old. Pool very clean and nice with lounge chairs around. You could clearly see they had recently painted the pool area. Please dont let this put anyone off was lovely to get back and have a dip in the pool and have a nice chilled beer.

Delicious breakfasts, good choice. Continental and full English available. Staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Very welcoming of my dog, which other guests commented on. Very close to the sea front, and a good area of grass for the dog. A big park called The Mead is within walking distance. Not too much parking available on site, but parking available on all the roads nearby, and staff helped me with luggage to the car.

I have no complaints at all, and I look forward to returning to the hotel.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, clean bedroom and bathroom. Lovely white towels and room very clean. Tea and coffee making facilities in room were great. Plenty of hangers in wardrobe and drawer space. Decor in room a bit dated but overall we had no complaints. Breakfast was beautiful.

The decor in our bedroom was a bit dated, but it didn't worry us. We did find our 2 drinks at the bar expensive, but we are used to club prices.

Staff were absolutely fantastic, warmly greeted at all times. Good choice and huge portions at breakfast. Great location

Great location, super friendly family run Hotel. A short 5 minute walk into the centre of Shanklin with its thatched buildings. The room was warm and comfortable with good facilities. Although the weather was very cold, the roaring wood burner made the lounge a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy a few drinks from the well stocked bar. The dining area has been decorated very well in a chic bistro style. The breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Although the restaurant is closed for lunch/dinner during the winter months there are numerous restaurants in Shanklin. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay, we will return.

We, myself, daughter, granddaughter & Ron the dog were back again after having a great holiday here last year. We experienced another wonderful holiday at now “The Q Hotel” only this time Simon and Sam had refurbished the rooms and opened the restaurant with an excellent lunch and dinner menu. Also the lounge area had been renovated further with more comfortable places to sit and enjoy a drink or just relax. Plus a sauna had been installed next the heated swimming pool and shortly to be joined by a hot tub it seems. The staff were friendly and went the extra distance to accommodate our requirements. Plus the owners Simon & Sam were very welcoming and made us feel right at home from the start. We really enjoyed our visit again and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly as well if as being so welcoming & comfortable, the location is excellent for the beach, the high street and the old town with its thatched roofs.

Fabulous place to stay, very relaxed vibe. There is no food in the evening but they allow you to get your own & eat outside with a very relaxed vibe , we bought a grazing board with olives etc . Simon behind the bar was an expert with cocktails!! Let’s say I had a few too many as they were so good!!!! Breakfast was Amazing!!! Chilling area with Ibiza sounds perfect to relax and have a drink. The pool is fabulous. Can’t fault it in any way. Thank you for a fabulous time Q. We will be back!!
