Our second stay at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. It's really the staff that make this hotel a great place to stay, whether it's the catering/housekeeping team or the reception staff. They are all really nice and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts were up to their usual high standard!!

We were on the ground floor under a room on the first floor with a jacuzzi bath. When the jacuzzi was used one night (starting at 22:10 hrs!!) it was very noisy and we could hear children screaming and shouting; turns out it was an adult couple(!) and we had to get reception staff involved to ask them to tone it down which they did at 22:50 hrs. The hotel either needs to improve the soundproofing for those rooms or introduce a policy to stop people using the jacuzzi after, say, 21:30 hrs.

I loved the rooms and and all reception areas the decor was very different but tasteful. We stayed in the gorgeous room and had the bday package which was absolutely perfect . The staff were the best I’ve met in along time in a hotel friendly welcoming and all very approachable. The breakfast room was beautifully organised lots of choice and the cooked breakfast absolutely perfect , the staff are an absolute credit to this hotel .

Unfortunately on our last day ( Mother’s Day ) the hotel had lost all pressure and hot water to the showers , we found out this had been an ongoing problem from the week previous . I would have rated this hotel a firm 10 had the last day not been like this . Also our room had a lot of dust on light fitting and on and in between the radiator bars . I appreciate not all this things can be done daily as quick turn arounds of guests but should be considered as a fortnightly check on a cleaning list .

Extremely lovely place to stay. Situated in such a great spot, everything we needed was in walking distance. Room was lovely and clean, we were informed as soon as we booked in that there was a small issue with the shower and we were offered a different room which was extremely good of them. Anything extra needed for the room was got to us within minutes. Breakfast however was the absolute star of the show! The full English was delicious and definitely worth having! There was also a good variety of other things on the menu and on the breakfast table if a fry up isn't your thing.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The room was beautifully designed with a modern, luxurious feel – from the velvet bed and elegant decor to the thoughtful touches like the full-length mirror and tea station. It felt cosy yet stylish, and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was a real treat – very spacious and immaculately clean, with a walk-in rainfall shower and a lovely jacuzzi bath for winding down. The floral feature wall gave it a classy, boutique vibe. Breakfast was another highlight – there was a great variety to choose from, including both hot breakfast options and a light continental spread. Everything was fresh and tasty, perfect to start the day. In the evenings, there’s even a small bar on-site, which was a lovely bonus for a relaxed drink before bed. The location is unbeatable. Canoe Lake is just across the road, where I enjoyed a rum & raisin ice cream in the sun. The seafront and nearby park are perfect for a morning walk or sitting by the water watching the swans. Everything from comfort and cleanliness to location and food was spot on. I’d absolutely recommend this hotel and would love to return!

This was our third stay at G Boutique. It is incredibly convenient for nights out in the centre of Southsea. Each room is individually decorated and comfortable. The breakfast is very tasty, with a good range of options for the size of the hotel. The staff are very helpful and polite. We will be back!

Our room this time was a little cramped (although last time our room was very large, so that might be why it felt small). It was fine for one night but would be a bit tricky for longer. The bathroom radiator was leaking across the floor (it was supposed to have been fixed the day before) so I did get wet toes when using the bathroom a few times… hooks on the back of at least one door would be useful for coats.

Wonderful individual rooms. Extremely comfy beds. Lovely ensuite. All staff are really friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast buffet, and individual choice hot breakfast, made fresh to order. Fabulous location in Southsea, for the great independent shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, Wedgewood Rooms for gigs, and King’s Theatre, all in Albert Road. Also close to the sea, and with brilliant public transport links to Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth City centre, etc. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Also several parking spaces on site (first come, first served), or free parking permit for parking on the road. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I'm not a "boutique" kind of guy and based my decision on price, availability, and location. I needed a place to stay when away on business. I've stayed away from home all week and I have to say that this place was the outstanding overnight stay of the trip. The hotel and its lovely staff just made me smile, and I left there feeling great. I am probably going to revisit with my wife someday. I had a bath to soak in after a long drive, a small table/desk to work from and they went out and bought a selection of gluten-free items specially for me for breakfast (I let them know beforehand about dietary requirements). Exceptional.

1) absolutely amazing friendly and helpful staff 🥰 2) we came off the ferry and it was only about 15 minutes drive to the property, so good location 3) good location, close to amenities like pubs, shops and the sea front 4) very tasteful breakfast + plenty of choice 😋 5) loved the double jacuzzi bath and separate shower 6) free parking on their drive 7) airco and heating in the room 8) before arrival, send a message to the property and the responded friendly and quickly 9) very comfortable round bed; slept like a log 10) they even printed something out for me without any charges 11) good size room, with desk and plenty of storage space 12) loved the quirkyness and art-stuff in the room and around the whole hotel

For us there was absolutely nothing to dislike. If we didn't had to go home, we'd move in 😍

We'd always stayed at either Premier Inn or Travelodge on past trips to Portsmouth but annoyed by the new parking charge at PI and having had a recent dreadful experience at Travelodge Wellingborough, I chose this hotel with some trepidation but was encouraged by another reviewer who suggested it was a great alternative to the national brands. I needn't have worried! We got a warm welcome and found all the staff to be really friendly and helpful. The choice at breakfast was really good, and the hot breakfast was tasty and excellently cooked. The ability to park for free either directly outside or on the street (with parking permit provided) was really useful, and the location was ideal for what we needed. Will certainly stay here again!

Sometimes we were able to hear people moving about in other rooms above and at the side of us (we were on the ground floor), but it didn't detract from our stay. Some of the decor in our room was looking a bit tired and needed refreshing. Would be nice to have a proper temperature controlled shower fitting or, even better, convert the bath to a walk in shower for those of us that prefer not to climb into a bath without having to book a more expensive, luxury room.

Location - right by the sea on a quiet residential road Breakfast - fruit/yoghurt/cereal options & a nice menu of cooked options to choose from Staff - everyone I spoke to was lovely, friendly & helpful Great service - there was a bathroom leak in the first room I was given, and I was immediately transferred to another room Cleanliness - everywhere was spotless, including the bedroom & bathroom Bed was incredibly comfy!

Minor things really! FYI - the hotel is about a 45 minute walk from the centre/where the university buildings are. I enjoyed the walking but I know some others may be less active The heating was on and took a while to cool down even after I turned it off/to low on the radiator My room was near the top of the house so the water pressure was slightly patchy at times
