This small walled hotel is a traditional building, perfectly located in the middle of the best town to base yourself in if exploring Lanzarote by car. It’s round the corner from the main piazza with parking right outside, but it’s very quiet and peaceful inside. The courtyard garden that you cross to get to your room is beautifully planted, with seating and deckchairs too. Rooms are huge but there are only a few, so it still feels homely. Ensuite bathrooms are either separate or part of the main room, and each room is designed differently. We stayed in two rooms, one of which was better for bathroom privacy than the other but neither a problem. Beds are huge and comfy and there’s plenty of storage space. Upstairs rooms lead onto a balcony where you can sit with a glass of wine to watch the sun set. Downstairs rooms are cool and shady, which would be lovely in summer. Service is always attentive but never intrusive (thank you, Nicholas). Breakfasts in the lovely dining room offer a huge choice of little treats so you can vary them according to your taste and level of hunger (or hangover!). The evening dining tasting menu was good though not exceptional - coming from London we’re perhaps a bit spoiled. But the atmosphere was lovely and it’s always a pleasure to sit and relax with others in this beautiful boutique hotel. It’s a gorgeous, calm place to wake in and to retreat to at the end of the day. I’d love to return.

It’s hard to fault this place, really. A few more coffee pods and a wider choice of teas would be nice in the rooms, especially if you’re staying in for an evening. WiFi is not reliable in some areas, so it’s perhaps not a place to base yourself in for laptop work. Bathroom products contain SLSs (Sodium Laureth Sulfate), which might be worth replacing at this hotel's level of experience and price. But the main thing I didn’t like was leaving...

Fabulous location in the heart of Tequise. Beautiful building and rooms. The lady serving breakfast on our first morning was exceptionally pleasant and cheerful. Also breakfast was amazing on both days. So much choice all brought to your table. Yoghurt and muesli, fresh fruit, local cheese and ham, bread, in-house made jams and sauces, cake and churros, plus tea or coffee. Also offered scrambled or fried eggs, which were delicious. Kept us going all day! Loved the courtyard in the centre - an oasis of calm to enjoy a coffee or drink, especially on Sunday Market day!

Would probably choose a room on the upper floor if returning.

location is amazing with lots of artisan shops around, breakfast was amazing as was the michelin recommended dinner. Had a very rustic and authentic but relaxing and comfy look

too bad that since our visit it has changed to adult only, we’d really like to visit again with our child again in the future

Building, architecture, decor, staff. Unfortunately it was a too short stay.

It took us a while to figure out the WiFi info - it was printed in the key card but, either I missed the info about it or we weren't told. It took us also a while to figure out how to close the ceiling window. Again, either we missed the info or it was not provided. But this is a minor issue. The form requires us to report something we didn't like and I had to come up with something...

The breakfast was good but basic. You don’t get to choose what you have but a light selection is given to you. It was nice and tasted good, but you would expect a menu or a little choice at the price. The room was exceptional. Beautiful, bright, spacious with a very comfy bed. Good bathroom amenities available. The area is beautiful with some very lovely restaurants nearby. We had tapas in La Cafeteria which was exceptional.

The breakfast could have had more selection or choice. Wouldn’t be good for many dietary requirements.

Palacio Ico is an absolutely lovely, quaint and comfortable hotel in the delightful Lanzarote former capital of Tequise. Rooms are large , well appointed, and comfortable…. The breakfasts outstanding and the staff so kind and helpful We had two outstanding evening meals in the hotel, one outside and one in the dining room … both were delicious . Staff genuinely want to help you to enjoy your stay and go the ‘ extra mile’ to help guests have a wonderful stay. We had a wonderful four nights at Palacio Ico and loved every minute

Everything exceeded our expectations

Quiet location, beautiful courtyard, excellent reception staff.

We were in room number one on the ground level. We could hear the automated restaurant cart drive by our door during the evening. I would recommend staying on the second floor if you have the chance.

Beautiful design and everything decorated with exemplary taste. Our room was spacious and cool and the gardens were beautifully planted with glorious pots and lovely local artefacts. Gloriously quiet courtyard. No pool unfortunately, if it did have, you’d be unlikely to leave! Dinner was gorgeous and the breakfast on the terrace was divine. A gorgeous place to stay.

Special hotel and place - great expereince. Room, evening dinner and breakfast all excellent. Our second night coincided with the town 'heavy rock' night - not easy for hotel team, but even this made us laugh 😅

The central location during hot weather won't suit everyone

Warm welcome from friendly staff and delightful breakfast. Sunday market was interesting too. If you have a chance, get a reservation for dinner in the restaurant - and outstanding experience.
