Impressive establishment in restored former abbey. Most helpful and well informed staff at reception; housekeeping with eye for detail. Central location in quiet neighbourhood. Great atmosphere.

Although the building has been restored to near perfection, and the rooms internally are soundproof, the latter unfortunately did not apply to the windows: during our stay we were woken up, three days in a row, at 6 am by a garbage truck, clattering away with the bins over the cobbled street. Not in conformity with (high) price level. The 🅿️ arrangement, some 10 minutes walking from the hotel, is the best they can do and by itself adequate. There is a most practical drop off spot (for one car) right in front of the hotel.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a quiet corner of Lyon. It is a former abbey and shares a small plaza with a beautiful small church. Beautifully updated. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Took pleasure in giving us touring recommendations and restaurant suggestions. Made us feel at home. A very quiet feeling in a tucked away location, but comfortable walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do in Lyon, including Vieux Lyon, shopping districts. After a long trip, we were happy to find accommodations in such a pleasant location.

The location of the hotel was great. The self check in system was brilliant and the calls and emails explaining this were really reassuring Bathroom products were lovely The bed was comfy and the temperature of the room was perfect. Lighting was good and easy to work. Breakfast was more than sufficient and the staff were super friendly. NB when making tea, please put the tea bag in the teapot of hot water !! As it was absolutely pouring with rain when we left and our car was a 15 minute walk away, the staff found us an umbrella to take with us - very kind !

As an English person, I would have preferred a better selection of teas in the bedroom together with fresh milk in the mini bar fridge. A walk in shower is easier to use than a shower in the tub

The location is superb; quiet, yet close to everything. Staff are cordial snd welcoming. They provide with super recommendations for activities, restaurants and transport. The staff also recognized the celebratory nature of our journey with kind words and kind gestures.

While room decor was on trend we found the dark paint color further darkened our otherwise, nice room. This only became apparent while trying to accomplish something requiring fine visual detail work. The shower door seal was also not working properly; resulting in a wet floor if not careful.

Wonderful: historic nod to the ‘abbey’with exposed stone walls for example but modern & comfortable dining/sitting areas. Incredible attention to detail in furnishings & decor. Very chic but cosy & welcoming at the same time without being ostentatious.

Love the idea of the glass, sliding door into the bathroom (reminiscent of a shoji screen) but imagine it could be an issue with some travellers as there is no lock & there is a gap between door & wall on closing the door.

Restaurant menu looked great, but closed during our stay.Locals took morning coffee outside. Breakfast hot and cold, local cake specialities. Staff changed to earlier opening times for us. Very stylish room with superior(!) air-conditioning that was silent and efficient. Outside cinema in square 3 nights during our stay but no problem. Abbey church opposite is lovely. Local small supermarkets and a wine shop round the corner.

If you drink tea, you need to supervise the making of it. On the first morning it was terrible- because the kettle was set for 65 centigrade! One major quibble: if you are ordering a taxi, you MUST insist on an ordinary taxi. Unbeknown to us, the hotel ordered us a limousine which cost exactly double (60) to go to our restaurant. Taxi to airport should be around 100.

Reception and restaurant staff speak English. Rooms have mini fridge, with complementary juice and water, and nespresso machine and wine glasses. Comfortable bed. AC works well. Hotel has an elevator so you can get your luggage upstairs. Easy to walk to Place Bellecour. Near an amazing Michelin star restaurant called Rustique.

The restaurant L' Artichaut was disappointing. Bell of Saint Martin Abbey ring every 15 minutes, so you need white noise to sleep. No parking.

The location worked out very well - close to two major metro stops. We attended Olympic soccer games, and were out late at times, but still felt safe. The staff were very helpful with directions and recommendations. The breakfast was a traditional European style, including meats, cheese, breads and pastries, some berries, yogurt, etc. There are also a number of cafes nearby, although not that many were open on Sunday. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the furnishings generally comfortable. Water was supplied in the room.

The church across the street rings bells fairly often during daytime hours. One really comfortable chair would have been nice.

Aesthetics were amazing and fitting to the abbey theme in a fashionable way. The hospitality people were wonderfully kind and helpful. Their cafe cookies and coffee were yummy. AC was cool enough on 90 degree days. 25 min walk along river to art museum and “old town” restaurants etc.. The place is exceedingly clean. Luxurious shampoos etc..

Beds were a little more firm than I love but that might be personal preference.
